At some point in your life, you were taught that being slightly annoying is an unforgivable sin. Maybe it was by your parents or a teacher or a friend or a bully or an older sibling. But someone taught you that being slightly annoying is a crime punishable by death.

You must unlearn this.

You must accept that all people will be annoying at some point or another in their lives, maybe all of their lives, and that this is okay. It is okay for strangers on the bus, it is okay for children in the grocery store, it is okay for people on social media, and it is okay for you.

If you ever want to truly love your fellow humans, if you ever want to truly love yourself, you must have forgiveness for being annoying.

funniest fucking storyline in 911 by FAR is michael getting bored, so he starts spying on his neighbors. athena gets worried and sends bobby over who IMMEDIATELY supports michael's insane claim that his one neighbor is up to something hinky. michael's partner comes home and suggests they rummage through the trash for evidence. despite his obviously joking bobby and michael think this is a GREAT idea. bobby gives david a lecture about how this is a legal grey area. michael sneaks into the guy's apartment and gets hit in the head. athena comes by and is outraged, even though she probably should have known that sending her dumbass husband to her dumbass ex-husband would result in smth exactly like this.

and then they're RIGHT. just completely validated. it's great. i could watch this episode forever.

No wait, I want to talk about how Eddie doesn't ask for clarification on Buck's sexuality at all. Maddie said "I didn't think that's where your interests would lie." She isn't questioning his sexuality, but asking for clarification because she didn't know this about him.

Eddie doesn't ask him to explain why he's dating a man now. He doesn't ask for a label. He doesn't ask about the women Buck's dated. He just process for a few seconds and then tells Buck nothing is changing between them.

He jumps right into teasing Buck and being there for him and helping him get the courage to reach out to Tommy again.

I'm so emotional about it. About Eddie taking it in stride and being like, 'okay, Buck's into men too. Now I need to make sure he knows nothing has changed between us and that I'll always be here for him'.

It's so soft, so gentle. Eddie has always been such a soft place for Buck to land when he's feeling low, just like Buck has been that for Eddie and it makes me all warm inside.

So often when bisexual people come out - especially later in life - they feel like they have to justify their feelings. Eddie doesn't make Buck do that. He just accepts his friend, loves his friend, and makes sure he knows that he's there for him.

It's been a year now since I started my first job (and moved to a second one) and I want to share some of the things with yall

Interviews are a two way street. They are seeing if they like you. But you need to decide if you like them. Ask questions and don't be afraid to listen to your gut.

There are two types of questions you should ask at an interview: to get more knowledge about the company, and to make yourself look good. The ones that make you look good are more important.

Buy a notebook. Make notes every day. You'll thank me.

Manage your pain. Take the god damn painkiller.

Set "yes but" goals. "This is my goal for this period of time but if something happens I will do this instead." " This is my goal for the year but if something happens before then I'll do this."

Don't be afraid to leave. Seriously. It's not worth it.

If they say they want to extend your probation period/training period, start looking for another job. They might be doing you a kindness and actually mean to help you, but if they're not and are only trying to cover their own skin you want to get out of there before they hurt you.

There will always be people who cannot admit fault and or will try to blame you for things you haven't done. Handle it however you please but accept that this is a universal truth.

Your colleagues are not your friends. They may become friends in time, but they are your colleagues first. Remember this. It may protect you one day.

"if you love what you do you'll never work a day in your life" is mostly true. It should still feel like work, but if you can find a job that you love, don't waste it. Your lucky.

If you stop loving it, it's a sign of a bigger problem.

If you stop doing the things you love because work has made you mentally/emotionally/physically incapable, don't be afraid to reassess.

If your place of work doesn't have a wellbeing and or disability support system, it's not for you. Even if you're able bodied, neural typical, and in peak mental and physical health.

Be a team player, but not at the expense of yourself.

You can be professional and still be the little freak that you really are. Just remembered when to wear which face, ok?

Eat some fucking fruit.

Work is just work. If you find it fulfilling, fantastic. But you need more that just work. Friends, family, hobby's, join a club, get a pet, start a project, take a class, go to the theatre, bake a cake, anything. But have something

Never stop learning. Either on the job or outside of it. But especially on the job. If your place of employment won't encourage you to keep learning and progressing, find a new job.

Comfortable, practical shoes. That is all.

Health and safety is your friend. I know. Everyone's least favourite department. But they are there to protect you. Go to them if you have concerns. If you don't have a h&s department and or your concerns are ignored, leave. No job is worth your life.

I've been rolling around in Good Omens thoughts again and a gifset made something jump out at me.

This is where the Metatron is going to come undone. He's got the same binary thinking as Heaven. Good or bad. Heaven or hell. Coffee or death. So predictable.

It reminded me of the scene in S1 when Aziraphale is confronted by the angels and they tell him "it's time to choose a side" and this is where it gets chewy and delicious.

Aziraphale points out "there obviously has to be two sides. That's the whole point, so people can make choices. That's what being human means - choices, but that's for them. Our job as angels should be to keep all this working so they can make choices".

He's already arguing for humanity all the way through S1, which is a problem, but it's something he's done consistently. Not questioning. Very much, not questioning. Just... offering suggestions. So this isn't news. He's even made these kind of suggestions to the Metatron before, so not new.

At the end of S1, Crowley points out that he thinks the real 'big one' is coming "Heaven and Hell against humanity". Aziraphale has been sitting with that knowledge for years. He and Crowley have been dancing on the edge of disaster with Heaven and Hell turning up whenever they wanted, invading their space, demanding their time and compliance even though they are seen as rogue agents.

Everything in S2 is Aziraphale trying to maintain the veneer of everything is fine while still dealing with the terror of it all falling apart. The "or death" has been hanging over them the whole time. He saw the attempted execution. He's been told by Heaven that Crowley is under threat.

But the thing about Aziraphale is that he never ever does the predictable thing. Yes, he agreed to go back to Heaven. Yes, the Metatron leveraged Crowley's safety against him to guarantee it. The statement of "I don't want to go back to Heaven" turning around as soon as Crowley's safety is brought into it. Yes, he'll be the Archangel.

But this is the angel who gave away his flaming sword and lied to God's face. This is the angel who interfered in a bet between God and Satan to save the lives of three children. This is the angel who collaborated with a demon so they could have more down time. This is the angel who was swayed towards saving the world because he loves his life there and all his favourite foods and music and indulgences. This is the angel who flipped the bird and dive-bombed out of Heaven to possess a medium and fly a scooter to the end of the world.

Whatever the Metatron thinks he's done by separating Crowley and Aziraphale, he has no idea what he's unleashed. Crowley's bee metaphor comes to mind here. Angels are fiercely protective of Heaven but once you're inside? Well, that's another story. Aziraphale may look like a bee, but he hasn't been a bee for a long, long time. They knew it at his trial.

And Aziraphale can't say he didn't warn them:

"So you're probably thinking if he can do this, I wonder what else he can do and very, very soon, you're all going to get the chance to find out"

Heaven's got a big storm coming and they let it right in through the front door.

today I learned that in 2008, the city council of florence overturned dante’s sentence of execution if he returned from exile. yes, dante’s inferno dante, who died in 1321.

but the funniest part of this is not that they were debating the exile of a man who has been dead for over 500 years.

the funniest part is that the vote was 19-5. five people voted to uphold dante’s exile.
