Last week I had the pleasure of facilitating a zine making workshop organized IHLIA LGBT Heritage in collaboration with the Black Archives. It was a dream to work in depth with the Black Archives, and to investigate Black queer/trans history in the Netherlands and abroad.
The participants of the workshop were extremely open, and had so much to share! Thank you for participating in the space, it was everything I hoped for an more :)

Ok, so Timebank is this really great alternative currency project in Netherlands and Brussels (and soon all over the world!).
I worked for TimeBank by making this zine-- and through that I received Hours (currency). With Hours I can busy local groceries in Den Haag-- all through giving my time. The project is community based, and filled with really some of the greatest people.

Throwback to this really fun workshop that I did as part of the NOISE Summer School in Utrecht. It was so fun meeting so many different queers and weirdos, so it was a perfect conclusion to a busy summer :)

Two mini zines that I made during Amsterdam’s Museum Night !
I’ve been experimenting with making mini zines with short workshops and with smaller groups... still exploring the best way to do it, but I loved the openness of the group I was with last night :)

DIVERGE Zine that I put together! So happy to interview some artist that we weren’t able to work with in the actual festival.... and it was also a good practice to begin to briefly reflect on how I was engaging in the festival, what it means to have corporate sponsorship, having work co-opted and appropriated...... all things that come forward in organizing a festival. Anyway, enjoy!

What an honor to be asked to participate in the Moving Together Week with Angela Davis and Gina Dent in Amsterdam. Here’s the result of a messy and fun zine workshop that we put together in the lobby!

Better late than never-- but pictures are up from a project that I’m a apart of: BARTALK #11: The Living Archive!
BARTALK is an interdisciplinary lecture/performance series based in the Hague that allows people to share the skills and knowledge they have with the public. Although I’m also able to do this with zine making, it’s nice to explore different avenues of honor lived and embodied knowledge!
Hope you can make it to future BARTALK, we have a great 2018-2019 in the works ;)

I got to partner with dancer and performance art maker Fazle Shairmahomed to teach a collaborative movement based zine making workshop! Multiculturalism is always a loaded concept for me, and it was interested to receive the range of perspectives in the zine, especially within a Dutch context. To then explore this topic within the realm of dance and movement was really interesting, thanks for holding the space with me!! Enjoy :)

What a special space to be a part of! This is the first time I’ve read segments of It’s No Big Deal in public, I’ve always been really shy about it. And I got to read from an extra intimate zines that will be coming out in the next month or so! Many thanks to the Versal team for inviting me to share some of my work :)
