HAPPY 4/13!!

To throw some enrichment into everyone's enclosure, and balance into this blog, I'm going to advertise my absolute all-time favorite MSPFA: you're someone!

It's a fascinating tale following a nameless protagonist- a person just born from light, with little to no understanding of the world around him. The story is paced with extreme, well-earned confidence, with the complexity of the art, narration, and dialogue increasing relative to how much the main character knows about himself and the universe.

The characters, though simple in design, are the most compelling I've seen in a fanventure so far, period. The story in general has absolutely zero connection to pre-existing MSPAs- meaning it's not a Homestuck fanstory, for any of those who may be tired of that sort of thing. Of all the MSPFAs I've read, this one feels the most like a legitimate MSPA. It's a true successor to the medium. It has direction, it knows what it is and what it's doing, and it knows exactly how to take things slow without it seeming like a slog.

I could not recommend it enough. In my eyes, it deserves worlds of praise!! It hasn't left me ever since I first read it. It kept me hooked for every page, and it doesn't fall victim to the eight deadly words ("I don't care what happens to these people,") for even a single second!! I'm giving it a solid 10/10!!

Dragonflies

Actual proportions here

The smaller one belongs to a specie which is totally capable of hunting on its own, but is often outcompeted by larger and stronger species. They don't have the ability to injest digestive fluids inside bodies of their prey, but certainly love stealing others' liquefied food. These dragonflies have learnt to cooperate with large dragonfly species (like the one in the pic) which prey exclusively on other dragonflies. On the ends of their haltere-like organs there are red sports which dim when averted from sunlight. When the small dragonflies spot another dragonfly, too busy waiting when their prey gets partially dissolved and not paying attention to what's happening around, they land nearby and turn balancers with the red-coloured side up. The red dots help dragonfly-eaters spot their prey. They leave their prey's food to the small ones and normally don't hunt on species that guide them to their meals.

HOWEVER. they are all friendfiction written by dirk, as a gift to john and jane for their 23rd birthdays.

My intuition was that each blood color was rarer than the one ‘below’ it, with a large peasant class supporting the wealthy elite. They’re called the 1% for a reason, after all. 

But jade - which sounds very rare - is only in the middle of the spectrum. The demographics here clearly aren’t as simple as I’d thought.  

As such you are one of the few who could be selected and raised by a VIRGIN MOTHER GRUB, an event so rare as to elude documented precedent.

There’s no precedent for this situation? On a planet with millennia of history? 

I theorized before that Kanaya might be royalty, but I think I was aiming too low - Kanaya is the kind of troll that legends are written about. She’s absolutely extraordinary, just like all the other Players.

Progeny, eh? So is Kanaya going to make more trolls, or more Mother Grubs? 

Either way, she’s going to have access to an ecto-lab soon. This shouldn’t be a difficult promise to keep.

The technology and indeed the hive itself were all recovered from the ruins nearby when you were very young. Jade’s Sburb House is one of the oldest mysteries in the comic. Its answer generates an entirely new mystery - what the hell these houses are for - but it’s still nice to have it solved.

I'm just saying, the neglect alone wasn't what made Rose feel like she needed to sneak around in her own home even if she wasn't in any danger

I'm not going to pretend I'm not shocked - but I expected some sort of twist, so I didn't get as blindsided as I would have been.

I highly doubt Vriska's decided to betray John - if nothing else, she'd be gloating about it a lot more. No, this legitimately has something to do with the god tiers, and John's story is about to continue.

that also makes her step sister to Nanna/pre scratch Jane and Grandpa/pre scratch Jake

Aunt of Dad Egbert, John, Jade, Jude Harley and Joey claire

Sister in law of Miss Claire and Mr. Egbert Sr

all of this switches in the post scratch world, making John and Jade her step siblings and making Jake and Jane tecnically her aunt and uncle, since they are her step siblings bio parents but by familly three dinamics her grand nephew and grand niece, since they are the adopted grankids of her step siblings
