But yeah, it's been a pretty major goal of my transition to become someone that I would have a crush on - and I'm there! I have been for a while, pretty much as soon as I started sprouting hair and experimenting with my style. And even as my style changes, so too does my taste.

In other words - I'm so deep in aesthetic self love that I'm finding myself more attracted to people who look like me.

truly my LEAST favorite form of advertisement these days is the faux-tiktoker/influencer who is here to Sell Me Something. the “omg unbox my Pureology (TM) skincare haul!!!” “doing the #NespressoChallenge!!!” “you guys will not BELIEVE what i got from shein-“ like its scary. its WEIRD. not only do i have no idea who these perfectly manicured, babytalking people are they feel less like real people than even an actual advertiser does. stop trying to make me believe you are my friend. you are something inhuman to me. you are a changeling. you are a brand wearing ill fitting human skin and i see its skeletal shape shift beneath the surface.

God Bless people who dress wild and go out in public. I love seeing a woman in all pink with pink hair and pink nails, with a tiny dog in a pink outfit in her bag. Or a massively goth dude covered in piercings sporting a giant green mohawk. Cosplayers. SCA reenactors. Ren Faire people. There’s nothing I love more than a pair of handsome young men walking around in Revolutionary War outfits. Just please keep dressing wild and freaky. You bring color to life, and it never fails to put a big smile on my face.

Honestly shout out to all trans/nonbinary people who have developed an anxiety around relationships since coming out and think nobody wants them now.

Weather you're a trans lesbian worried women see you as inherently predatory, a nonbinary person worried your gender now isn't compatible with anyone's sexuality, or a straight trans person feeling like most trans people are gay and nervous about dating cishet people.

It's going to be ok, you're going to find someone. There are a lot of other people like you who have found relationships and you haven't messed up your dating pool by transitioning. Things are going to work out and you're going to meet lots of people who love you for who you are.

I think people need to get better at saying “maybe, maybe not” or “do I really need an answer?” when faced with uncertainty. this is something that gets taught to people with OCD, but I think the masses would benefit

“what kind of attraction am I feeling?” would it be the end of the world if that question didn’t have an answer?

“am I allowed to identify as x when I’m not sure if it applies to me?” maybe! who cares!

literally. you can apply the “fuck around and find out” method to anything

continuously feeling the need to hunt for answers is going to eat you up inside. take it from me. your life gets so much easier when you let yourself be unsure

Hey why do people see weird patterns if you press on you closed eyes too hard, seems like a weird and probably useless feature of the human brain

it's because squishing your own eyeball increases the pressure inside it slightly, which causes the light-sensing cells in your retina to absolutely lose their shit and start beaming garbage data directly to your brain, where it's interpreted as random colors and patterns.

so maybe don't do that

i think one of the best parts about being a teenager in the early to mid 2010s was that cigarettes were definitely not cool anymore and vapes hadn’t popularized yet so my lungs made it out of my peak impressionable years relatively unscathed
