It's a bit past midnight. Gunther couldn't sleep. He went to use the bathroom, and ran into Agnes after.

She couldn't sleep either. The guest room gets really cold.

One thing leads to another, and...

When it was all done, Gunther is left next to a sleeping Agnes to contemplate his life decisions.

At least Agnes' writer's block is cured. But at what cost?

My headcanon is that Gunther has always had a secret thing for Agnes ever since he met her through Cornelia. But his courtship with Cornelia was always arranged by their parents for business and political reasons, and he didn't think he could just go against his family. He was always too busy with work to notice how unsatisfied he was with Cornelia (which isn't her fault; she's not satisfied with him either but puts up with it). Agnes was the one he "should have married." But at the time she was a bit too young, and seeing Erik Darling.

He's probably having some sort of late midlife crisis. Maybe they'll wake up tomorrow and just pretend this never happened. He probably won't tell Cornelia. He feels really guilty though.

Cornelia complains about Gunther to her in private all the time, but Agnes feels like she sees a completely different side of him.

Agnes, for better or worse, is a writer and a hopeless romantic, and although she also feels really guilty, she would be lying if she said this night wasn't electrifyingly inspiring for her novel... Forbidden romance, star crossed lovers.... Does art imitate life or does life imitate art? And it also rekindled something in her. For the first time, she fell asleep not thinking about Erik.

It's a warm night. The kid's already in bed, so the Agnes, Cornelia, and Gunther had some time to unwind…

Cornelia looks up from her book. Gunther seems oddly interested in what Agnes has to say tonight.

Like, really interested. Something about her having writer's block, and not making any progress on her gothic romance novel.

Cornelia actually couldn't remember the last time he looked at or spoke to her that way. And since when did Agnes get so comfortable with Gunther? Was she just not paying attention?

Awkward silence. Back to reading.

The fire's died down, and it's time to head in.

She's still reading.

Bonus: Bonehilda stopping by to do her nightly rounds, raking up the leaves, thinking to herself exactly what we're all thinking.

Big grimace... What happens in the next few sets of screenshots... The game did on its own... Don't blame me, Cornelia... I hate it just as much as you do.

I still haven't had time to sit down and sink my teeth into these game. Ugh! These are still from my stash of old screenshots. Regardless, looking at them jogs my memory and it feels like it happened just yesterday. When I miss Sunset Valley it feels like missing a real place. It's hard to explain in words, but if you know you know. My brain chemistry or neuroplasticity or whatever feels permanently altered by this game. The Reshade preset is still coming, as well as a current lighting mods / default replacements list. I'm just slow. Thank you for your patience if you have been looking forward to it.

hi! love the blog and ratthew, just wondering what reshade you use?

Hey! It’s a preset I made myself that I’m still in the process of tweaking to release publicly for anyone to use.

I think my lighting mods do a lot of the heavy lifting as well, so I’m also putting together a post linking to the ones I use.

Progress has been slow because life has been really busy, but it is almost done! If you check back periodically, I’ll be sure to have the post linked under a new “Downloads” section on my pinned welcome / FAQ post.

Jamie had taken Morgana out dancing to cheer her up, only to notice Thornton happened to be there as well. He wouldn’t stop looking their way.

She got so annoyed seeing him in her peripheral vision the whole night… She couldn’t resist…

JAMIE: Excuse me, man baby. Don’t have anything better to do than follow around your ex and the person she caught you cheating with?

THORNTON: Hmm, that’s pretty uncalled for. Can’t a guy go out on a Friday night?

You see, Thornton knew Morgana stayed over at Christopher Steel’s house and slept on his couch on the night after their breakup, not wanting to sleep in the same bed as Thornton.

Maybe Thornton’s still pissed off and jealous about it. And also pissed off he got caught cheating. And that the person he was cheating with (Jamie) turned around and rejected him too after hearing Morgana’s side.

Maybe he misses having someone to cook and clean for him. Now he actually has to hire cleaners? He hates paying.

Sorry for the Thornton bashing if you are a Thornton stan. But in my game he’s a total ass, and gives me terrible icky vibes. I just don’t like the way he looks at me. He’s not actively evil or chaotic, but he comes off very selfish, image-obsessed, and callous. All hidden beneath a handsome veneer of politeness and status.

To defend him a bit though, it’s not like he’s actively stalking Morgana. It’s kind of hard not to run into everyone when there’s only one lounge/bar lot in the entire town lol

… And they broke up just as fast, after a heated fight at Xander Clavell’s party. They’ve only been dating for a few months, but Hank could already see Tamara wanted something more serious…Too serious. He gave her the “It’s not you, it’s me.”

No one was working at the Kissing Booth, so Tamara and her new boyfriend Hank took turns pretending to be on duty.

They got together so fast, but they really match each other’s playful flirty energy!

Yeah Hank broke up with Pauline. It was pretty upsetting to her but he felt relieved. He was starting to feel stuck and wanted to try something new. He still loves Pauline as a friend though. I think Hank and Pauline would both thrive in an open relationship, they just haven’t consider it’s an option.

Like how all these married Sims kept enlisting her services. Seems like Gunther’s wife wasn’t told about this arrangement beforehand… Oh well, that’s between them. Tamara was just here to do business.

My headcanon is Cornelia is ace but Gunther and her are terrible at communication when it matters. He’s always too busy working to spend quality time with her. And when he does carve out time with her, he wants to WooHoo, which she doesn’t really care for. Or she never initiated. Then he is upset she’s upset. (They sadly literally have arguments with speech bubbles about her Unflirty trait.) Their marriage is pretty bleh.

Tamara got sick of her dead-end job counting ballots under Vita Alto. She quit and started doing sex work in between finding jobs.

One of her clients was some big business guy named Thornton Wolff.

He impressed her with a fancy dinner date, and his house has a beautiful view… Yeah, he sucks at sex but… Maybe he will tip well.

The things they're both dreaming about. For Thornton, "no strings attached, and no love." For Tamara, growing her business.
