Completely accidental. Mara always tends to be a little forgetful about contraception and she is very fertile. Even a delayed dose and it is 50/50 that she will conceive. The three of them decided to play some more before Caterina was due back. Overslept with Mara in the middle like a shared teddy bear. A mad rush to hide what they had been up to and greet her downstairs and she did not take her potion until that evening when it was too late

I finally filled in the empty lot that was left when I moved the theatre!

found a really nice apartment building on MTS and put it there. fits really nicely with the architecture of the town.

the Great Renovation of Midnight Hollow is ongoing. and the pace is very good.

I finished up the arcade, now available with a karaoke machine and a pool table, plus all the game tables and pinball machines in the catalogue. there are even TVs with consoles for playing games inside and mini golf outside in the back.

I have added a couple of bin lots and recolored them to better fit in with the town's palette. it was a pre-made junkyard, a vampire lounge I made myself and a horse ranch from MTS.

the theatre is now sharing the lot with the office building and I added a movie studio there too. (with cheats, so it fit in the basement)

a hangout was rezoned as a dive bar, with a professional bar, a scene for band gigs, a pool table and darts. and a new colour palette because vanta black on floors and walls was terrible choice, considering the (lack of) lighting in this town.

oh yeah, and I rezoned bakery from hangout to coffeehouse and added a scene there too.

so.

about the only lots I'm missing is a dance club (location already picked out) and a live-show venue. and checking out the library, the gym and the second gallery.

Toying with the concept of a Rook de Riva (likely not Arsinoë) who was not just in a relationship with Lucanis but a relationship that had recently gotten serious... but with everyone distracted by the Antaam, Illario doesn't quite realize this until literally right before Lucanis gets on the ship. He thought it was another crush, like Viago, but then-

Maybe there's a ring spotted. Maybe Lucanis asks Illario to keep an eye out for Rook.

Maybe Lucanis is meaning for it to be a mixture of Illario distracting Rook from overthinking/anxiety/isolation from having to hide their worry since their relationship isn't public AND Rook keeping Illario "out of trouble", but to Illario it reads like his cousin, who constantly dismisses his capabilities, is finally taking him seriously enough to ask for help.

Anyway it's too late to determine whether or not this relationship could be used as leverage to get Lucanis to tell Caterina he won't be first Talon. Lucanis is already on the ship. His fate is already sealed. The Venatori are already in wait.

Illario realizes this is effectively his cousin's last request of him.

And to some extent he thought he was killing Lucanis as a mercy, but now there's this near stranger close to hand who is essentially his cousin's widow(er).

Who is going to be very, very interested in finding out who sold out Lucanis (they are still a Crow after all) and thus is very much a threat.

Who is an obligation shoved on him by Lucanis, who Lucanis apparently trusted more than him.

Who is the reason Lucanis finally respected him enough to ask for actual help.

Who, while having to try to hide it, is mourning Lucanis the person the way Illario is, the way Caterina refuses to talk about, the way most of the Crows could never because the Dellamorte boys have always been kept apart from the others.

Who maybe even reaches out to try and comfort Illario on the downlow.

Lucanis asked him to watch out for them. They couldn't officially attend the wake, but when they hear what happened from Viago they show up to check on Illario. They are sharpening knives in his cousin's name and offering him one.

This is his cousin's widow and final request and bequeathed burden.

He brought them the news so they wouldn't hear it unprepared from Viago, even though with Lucanis dead the secret no longer matters.

He brought them the news so he could watch their face and look for any suspicion or realization.

And before he could even swallow his own grief long enough to decide his next step, they too are gone. Gone stupid, careless with their grief. Gone from Treviso. Exiled or executed... It isn't clear in those early days of rumors.

Whether Illario would have kept his not-quite-deathbead promise to Lucanis or whether he would have moved to tie up lose ends, he's lost the opportunity now.

on one hand, playing my current save is fun.

on the other, the lack of light in Midnight Hollow is kind of depressing. I think I might switch to a different save for a bit.

either Sunset Valley or Sunlit Tides, I think. though, the Sunlit Tides would need some renovations since I last played it without the Showtime installed
