katsuki's in at the tail end of the first year of middle school when he's offered the chance to skip second year. he's always been smart and ambitious and his parents like that it's another thing that makes their child special. he's admitted to the third years. deku cries when he learns as if katsuki hadn't stopped being his friend years ago. katsuki had been one of the oldest in his previous class but now he's the youngest. the new study material is harder but he studies and refuses to give up and exels. sometimes, he sees deku around. he's always alone and katsuki doesn't approach him. he comes in first in the entrance exam at UA. his classmates are annoying, chipper, and don't take the hero course seriously. they're all mass expelled and put into support course. katsuki isn't expelled because he has different area's to work on. he has strength, he has focus, he has ambition. a class of one student is hard to justify, so he's mostly put in with 1B but hero work is a 1 on 1 with aizawa. it does him good, the brutal assessments and the tearing of his ego. when the sports festival rolls around the others gain their place back in the hero course and katsuki's class of one is once again a class of twenty. he's still abrasive and the fact that he was the only one not expelled puts him against his classmates so he continues keeping to himself. second year rolls around and aizawa gets a new homeroom and cementoss becomes their teacher. his methods are exedingly different to aizawas. after two years of ignoring it, deku slams back into katsuki's life. aizawas class was attacked and multiple people in critical condition, so of course he visits him. not in the hospital but before class because the man's a lunatic that doesn't know the concept of rest. there deku is. scraped up and downtrodden in conversation with a classmate. he light's up as he sees him and calls out "kacchan" as if on reflex, then shrinks into himself in regret. katsuki has a lot of feelings about this and the fact that fucking deku somehow managed to get into the hero course, but he's already been a hero student for a year and done the whole it's not heroic thing to not blow him to tiny smitherenes. it doesn't stop him from waiting outside and confronting deku on the way back when he's stuck in a train with katsuki for twenty minutes.

Langworth legitimately being one of my fav ships in AA even tho I still haven't touched investigations has to be one of the funniest experiences I've had with this series.
