I thought I was alone in feeling this way.  

I feel like not enough people talk about the loneliness of being aroace. I am entering my 30s now which means most of my friends are married, and my parents are getting older too, so I feel like there's no one I can really turn to anymore, and it's only going to get worse.

Ive been sitting on this post for a while now because it hits really close to home. 

I’m just entering adult life and already I feel like I’m looking down the barrel at decades of loneliness. It’s not that Im going to stop having friends, but my friends will be married and have kids and I dont know if I would fit into there daily or even weekly life anymore, and that thought is terrifying. 

It’s easy to say there are other aroace people out there but there are so few of us out there. Ive never met another aromantic person IRL, how would I get to know one close enough where we could form a QPR without the whole reaction being entirely artificial or one of us moving across the country? 

These are real problems in the aromantic community that arn’t going away anytime soon, and although its undoubtedly possible to find a fulfilling community even as your older I feel like I don’t know how.

Sorry for this response being so bleak and depressing but at least know that you arnt alone in your feelings or concerns
