Witcha Gonna Do? Review Prequel

(Cover image)
Reading Status: Completed
Reason: This one is the January pick from my sister, love you, that's why I am reading it. She said that, "from the moment I read this book I wanted you to read it. It was just such a cutsie book that worked through figuring out your life."
Book Choice: For these this is the same thing.
Back Blurb: Direct from the book Could it possibly get any worse than having absolutely no magical abilities when you're a member of the most powerful family of witches ever? It used to be that I'd say no, but then I keep getting set up on dates with Gil Connolly, whose hotness is only matched by his ego. Seriously. I can't stand him. Even if I also can't stop thinking about him (specifically kissing him), but we're going to pretend I never told you that part. So yeah, my life isn't the greatest right now, but then it goes straight to the absolute worst hell when I accidentally make my sister's spell glitch and curse my whole family. And the only person who can help nonmagical me break the spell? You guessed it. Gil, the superhot jerk. Now we have to work together to save my family and outmaneuver some evil-minded forces bent on world domination. Oh yeah, and we have to do all that while fighting against the attraction building between us, because I may not be magical, but what's happening between Gil and I sure feels it.
Rating: 8/10 (this is based on the first read through of the whole of the book, updated and reasoning at the end).
Chapter Run Down Decision: These chapters are shorter in length so I think I will be combining them into 5 chapters per breakdown/review to get more context.

The Nightmare before Kissmas Review Prequel

(cover image)
So first off this is a romance boy love story, so if that's not your thing just wait for the next one.
Now that, that is done lets get into it!!!
Status: Complete
Reason: The reason for picking up this book, my sister, we are doing a book exchange for this year. What we do is once a month we send each other a book and the reason we want them to read. I of course don't want to send her anything off the lamb so I read the book first.
Book choice: How I chose this particular book is that I was taking a publishing class and one of the assignments, or like project marker points, was to look for books that would match a hypothetical book you are presenting to a publisher. No I didn't use this book, but the resources, admittedly goodreads, showed me a list of books for romances and this one was on it. I proceeded to Amazon and I am really glad I did.
Back blurb: (This is direct from the back of the book) Nicholas "Coal" Claus used to love Christmas. Until his father, the reigning Santa, turned the holiday into a PR facade. Coal will do anything to escape the spectacle, including getting tangled in a druken, supremely hot make-out session with a beautiful man behind a seedy bar one night. But the heir to Christmas is soon commanded to do his duty: he will marry his best friend, Iris, the Easter Princess and his brother's not-so-secret crush. A situation that has disaster written all over it. Things go from bad to worse when a rival arrives to challenge Coal for the princess's hand...and Coal comes face-to-face with his mysterious behind-the-bar hottie: Hex, the prince of Halloween. It's a fake competition between the two holiday princes who can't keep their hands off each other over a marriage of convenience that no one wants. And it all leads to one of the sweetest, sexiest, messiest, most delightfully unforgettable love stories of the year.
Rating: 8/10 (this score is after having read it but pre-breakdown of the linguistics, literary theory, and other discussions)
Chapter run down decision: The chapters are fairly long so I think I will go ahead and do them one at a time as I believe there is enough there to be consistent.

Reviews

(not my photo found on pinterest)
Ok so I have been trying to figure this out but I think I have it now... I think what I am going to do is like a chapter or grouping of chapter reviews. I might even do more of a literary breakdown on the characters and styles, maybe even a linguistic breakdown. I'm not sure how much time I will have with everything but I am thinking that the chapter/s breakdown's will be the best! So layout I think will be a post about the generalities of the book, why I am reading it, what made me pick it up. Then I will re-post that with updates so its kind of like a thread. Not sure I can do that but we will figure it out as we go. At the end I will do an overall review of my thoughts see how it looks type deal.

Fan fiction

I don't know that I am really going to do a whole lot on fanfiction, I consume enough of it that I should be able to do some kind of reviews or recommendations. I'm not sure, I will probably do a few here and there and see how they go. I would like to start reviewing on a regular basis I have the book post in the works but I'm stuck because I don't know how nitty gritty I want to get.

Introduction

(Not my pic found on Pinterest) Hello to anyone listening...I mean reading. I don't really have a lot of extra time so not sure why I am even considering this. However, I am doing a reading thing with my sister this year so I at least know I should be reading something at least once a month.
Currently reading Witcha gonna do? by Avery Flynn. Recently finished: The Nightmare before Kissmas by Sara Raasch - Review pending
