okay im dumb. so there's an application first? and then a submission? or the other way around, well... you know what i mean lol. i've never seen this before but it sounds interesting!

you're not dumb ! i can definitely break it down for you ♡ if you're interested in the idea and would like to join , you'll click on the server invite link in the pinned post. when you click on it , it will take you to discord but it will show you an application you have to submit in order to gain access to the server. this is because i have the apply to join option chosen for the server ! you'll fill out the membership application and submit it. i will then receive it and look over it when i'm on my desktop , which i will be on all day today because i have to stay home and makes cakes haha. i will then choose to accept , deny , or "interview" you which is just messaging you for any clarifications or anything like that ! once your membership application is accepted , you will be given access to the server. there , you will find the character application , which you will fill out and submit. then , your character application will be looked over and accepted , put on pending to ask any clarification questions if necessary , or denied. i'm not someone who's going to look through everything harshly , honestly it sounds like a scary process but it's really easy ! i've been through it myself so i understand it can seem daunting but please know there's nothing to be anxious about !

What is the reason behind having an application to become a member before one can apply for a character? 👀 Not asking in a judgy way just being nosy curious. Is it to prevent haters? or organization purpose?

hi ! i've been in the rpc for a while , like sixteen years while ( which is insane honestly ) , and as i've continued to make groups , i've found that i want to curate the spaces i create now. it isn't to prevent haters , it's just to vet everyone who's coming in. i obviously cannot know if they are being honest or not in their answers for the membership application but it is something i can consider before allowing them into the server. also , i've seen jcink roleplays do it and i was always curious about the process and wanted to veer more into groups like these. i myself have applied for semi - private / private groups before and i've always really liked how these servers happened to be some of the better experiences i've had in roleplays ♡

are you going to stick with this rp or are you going to ghost it? bc tbh this idea sounds good but you (yara) have a notorious history of opening up groups and abandoning them. can you please tell us how you’re not going to engage in that behavior?

hello ! so , i'll answer this to the best of my abilities and be as honest as possible.

i do have a habit of making groups of ideas i'm really into , and i can admit that sometimes after i open them i am not as active as i should be. i acknowledge that and can see how someone would lose faith in an admin who opens roleplays that close quickly. i will also say this : i open groups with the best intentions , i genuinely don't go into it thinking it will die in less than a month. i enjoy creating groups to share with others , if i didn't i wouldn't make any groups at all , obviously. however , there are many times when muns join my groups and we have a grand time for a few days before everyone goes dead. and it goes 50 / 50 , sometimes i do try to keep the group alive and do my best while others time i just let it die. i'm not a perfect person , i can go a day or two without being online too because i have a busy life sometimes , but i've always thought "if they want to be active , they will be" in relation to the muns that are part of my group. i do not think it's up to me to constantly create events , ask prompts , tasks , etc. to keep people engaged. be engaged with your own plots , your own character development , etc. i have always wanted to cultivate groups where muns go off on their own and explore their own ideas based off the plot , and often i just find myself needing to create events and what not just to keep people busy. i do my best with nearly every group i make and it just doesn't work out a lot of times , just like with most roleplays in the discord rp community. people join , they apply and are excited for a bit , then everything dies. and i'm not going to beg people to be active or spend more time on a project when i know it just isn't working out. i'm going to do my best with red moon because this is a server i'm genuinely very passionate about and want to see succeed. i want to reach people who are genuinely engaged and excited to actually write , not just excited about the idea of writing. and i've been guilty about that too , again no one is perfect. this is the only message i'll answer about this type of thing because at the end of the day , you do not have to join any group i make. this is roleplay , a hobby we have all chosen to partake in. if you do not trust me to keep a server open and want no part in it , that's 100% okay i respect that.

is this the same deadwood run by yara??

deadwood is a strange town roleplay i admined a while ago , yes ! though the town names are the same and both in the state of washington , they share no other similarities. the deadwood roleplay was about a twin peaks - like town , the town in red moon just happens to be called deadwood because i like the name.

i meant to add the rules in the google docs' guidebook but i totally forgot , they're on there now ! the rules are also in the server where you'll be able to look over them whenever you like.
