Thanks a million to @_kimberlysnyder for reminding me how yummy and invigorating a green breakfast can be!! I recently came upon Kimberly’s books and website regarding her Beauty Detox Solution via a post by @drewbarrymore where she was raving about Kimberly, so I need to thank Drew as well. I was like, wait! Who is this Kimberly Snyder?!! I want this in my life and how did I not know about her??!!! I used to have a similar nutrition plan when I first became vegan (after almost 20 years of being vegetarian) and it worked really well for me. Btw, Kimberly’s plan can work for you even if you are not vegan! Anyhoo, not sure exactly how I wandered away from it, except that when I had my aortic valve replaced (genetic issue) in 2015, I had to become very regimented about my greens. Some of you may wonder WHY I would need to do that. When you have a mechanical valve, you take a daily blood thinner to prevent clotting. Greens are high in Vitamin K and Vitamin K is a natural coagulant and interferes with the blood thinner’s job. It was pretty overwhelming for a vegan to hear that she couldn’t have unlimited greens!!! Like. Wait. Whaaaatt??!! That was almost 3 years ago. I don’t think I really realized how much good green food I had given up for the sake of my mechanical valve (I like to call it #bionic) until I read the Beauty Detox books (listened in my car multiple times during recent travels). I was reminded of the incredible mineral, enzyme, and protein power of greens and decided to plunge right into Kimberly’s plan and get #backtogreens as the main food of my diet. With blood thinne, you can have as much green food as you want, but you have to have roughly the same amount every day. So, I can actually have more greens, I just have to get my blood checked more regularly until I find a groove for my increased greens intake that jives with my blood! It is definitely a challenge, but that has never stopped me before. Soooooo, in the last week or so, I began following (mostly) the #beautydetoxsolution. I have been doing my #glowinggreensmoothie daily and I feel ahhhhmazing and my skin and hair are very happy, too!!! #hubbycallsitswampjuice
