Horns Movie Review
Director: Alexandre Aja. Writer: Keith Bunin. 2013.
I went in expecting something odd, but upbeat and funny, and got darkness and weird content.
I really liked the story and the coloring they chose to use, which I know it’s usually used like this, but the happy and loving scenes were warmer and full of warmer colors than the rest of the movie, that focus on Ig’s journey to find the killer; the story itself is an interesting idea, and how they mixed fantasy into a crime thriller, so I all around I loved it.
The acting and music score is also good, the music does a great job to keep the pace, and Daniel has a chance to show a different side to his acting to what we were all familliar with.
I’d give it a 5 out of 5 out-of-the-blue horns

Before We Go Movie Review
Director: Chris Evans. Writer: Ronald Bass, Jen Smolka, Chris Shafer, Paul Vicknair. 2014.
There’s always something that I really like about this movie, and that’s the nostalgia that it brings with its visuals, the colors, framings and focus of the picture have this aura of nostalgia for a love that you had and lost, or maybe a one night fling that meant a lot to you, or even a nice night out of messing around with friends, and I think that Evans did a great job to capture the story of these two people who are so lost on their own problems and need a helping hand.
Both characters have different problems to solve ahead, they both are faced with a life changing problem and have to be solved within the same night, and the story takes us on this journey of companionship and trust, and personal growth. I personally, really stories that come full circle and, literally, end where they begun only that now the characters are in different places.
Both Chris and Alice make a great job bringing this characters to life and tell us their stories.
I’d give it a 5 out of 5 life-changing nights.

Nightcrawler Movie Review
Director and writer: Dan Gilroy. 2014.
This movie, throughout a series of impactful imagery and pace, shows us the reality of media manipulation and what lenghts people go to get the “news” to the stations, I am aware this is a piece of fiction and reality might be nothing like it, but I also know we live in a world where it might actually happen.
The story is good and the characters have such complexity and you come to hate them pretty fast on, Lou is such a hateable character with great mental issues and, as is usual, Jake does such a great job to bring this to life. We know that Jake always chooses characters that are odd and impactfull stories to tell and here we are presented with another great performance.
The movie makes for a good watch, specially if you’re into some graphic and raw stories that don’t have a happy ending at all.
I’d give it a 5 out of 5 manipulable media outlets.

Alex Strangelove Movie Review
Director and writer: Craig Johnson. 2018.
Lately, Netflix has been coming up with some great coming of age movies, and now the LGBT+ comunity had its chance to be represented as well. Set in the journey of a young boy questioning his sexuality and trying to cope with social pressure and more.
The characters are fun and likeable, Alex himself is dorky and his journey feels real, the characterization of a kid trying to figure out who he is and how this changes him and affects him was portrayed so well, from the confusion, trying to rationalize it to the building of frustration and anger that end uo exploting due to the shifting of his self-ideas and being, so I really liked that.
The music was on point and it makes for a good time watching.
I’d give it a 4 out of 5 selfdiscover journies.

The Kissing Booth Movie Review
Director and Writer: Vince Marcello. 2018
Growing up I saw a lot of movies with the same tropes as the one’s present on his movie: The bad guy with a secret heart of gold, best friends that lived next to each other that ultimately have a fall out, arcade games and the Santa Monica pier were present in a lot of movies. This movie takes a lot of classical tropes from the 90s and mash them together, brining the best of each and creating a meaningfull movie about first love, friendship and growing up.
The story is good and told in an upbeat and funny way, mixed with a lot of heartache, I really liked how they represented the big first love, how much it does affect us and shapes the way we love, teaching future generations (and making older generations to think) about how this great, big, extraordinary first love doesn’t last forever and that’s okay, our first love tents to stay in our hearts, but not always in our lives.
The cast does a great job to bring the story to life and the music really helps to set the pace.
I’d give it a 4 out of 5 90′s tropes.

Deadpool 2
Director: David Leitch. Writer: Rhett Resse, Paul Wernick, Ryan Reynolds. 2018.
In the second installment of this amazing movies we find the same level of sarcasm and fun that we do in the first one, except, this time around we are given a better and deeper storyline, about grief, lost, family and the importance of life experience and how this shapes who we become; it gives us a great depth to characters we knew and liked, and that extra step makes it such a good sequel.
They didn’t try to take it over the edge with the new film, and the efects and acting are good. It does has some great cameos that really make a great impression and everyone will love, and the soundtrack continues to be spot-on.
I’d give it a 5 out of 5 R rated x-men

Deadpool Movie Review
Director: Tim Miller. Writer: Rhett Resse, Paul Wernick. 2016.
The first of many R rated movies to come.
Deadpool has one of the most heartbreaking origin stories, and it has a story full of pain and lost, but he’s also sarcastic and idiotic; watching him is always a full journey because the movie can take us from a hraetbreaking moment to laughing our asses off in a moment.
Ryan Reynolds really does a great job at bringing Wade to life and does it with such joy that we can’t help but noticing how much this changes the character itself for the best. The visuals are great and the soundtrack as hilarious as it is works really well. The rest of the characters are equally great and interesting.
I’d give it a 5 out of 5 low level mutans.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle Movie Review
Director: Jake Kasdan. Writer: Chris Mckenna, Erik Sommers, Scott Rosenberg, Jeff Pinkner. 2017.
A new and modern take on an original idea that shaped a generation, on this sequel we find a story that talks about friendship and the quest to find yourself, and as much as we seen this over and over, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” manages to have a fun and upbeat plot mixed with these keys points.
The efects and visuals are good, and watching Jack Black act as a Teenage girl is something I didn’t know I needed so much in my life, it’s funny and its touching; the characters are good and entertening to watch. And as usual, the drumming noise is epic.
I’d give it a 5 out of 5 modern sequels.

Jumanji Movie Review
Director: Joe Johnston. Writer: Jonathan Hensleigh, Greg Taylor, Jim Strain. 1995.
Growing up, there ways always a Robin Williams movie playing on the TV, so, my childhood was pretty much shaped by these movies. Jumanji was one of the most played, so, it really had an impact on me.
It has such a great story, creating a fantasy world where a board game could screw up all your life, and having such fun and loving characters, the acting is great and the soundtrack is good, that drumming noise is just, epic. The visuals held for the age and time they were made, and it’s a very enjoyable and a wild ride.
I’d give it a 5 out of 5 crazy board games.

A Quiet Place Movie Review
Director: John Krasinski. Writer. Bryan Woods, Scott Beck, John Krasinski. 2018.
“A Quiet Place” really brings in a new level to horror films, from the fact that it actually had a great and touching story, to the acting from everyone, and the editing, sound and visuals both take it an extra notch to create the perfect atmosphere for the film.
The use of dialogue and sound is lacking so much that you have to pay attention to the movie the whole time, and the silence drawns you in, and when there’s sound it makes a bigger impact.
I went in expecting jumpscares and murder, I was not expecting to have such a great and emotional story, such great characters and extraordinary acting, by the kids and John and Emily as well.
I’d give it a 7 out of 5 moder takes on horror

Love, Simon Movie Review
Director: Greg Berlanti. Writer: Elizabeth Berger, Isaac Aptaker. 2018.
Soft gay movie that was needed, I read somewhere that the problem with Love, Simon, was that Simon’s story was too soft to be relateable to today teens. Well, that’s true, but it still is a great movie and most imporantly, I feel like its the beggining of great representation.
The story was kept moving fast and funny and dramatic when it needed to, it’s full with great characters and a good development, the soundtrack its great as well, and the cast does an amazing job portraying their characters. I personally loved the scenes of Simon with his parents and the frutration he shown when he was outted, those scenes are impactfull and they were executed very well.
I’d give it a 5 out of 5 ferrieswheel.

Avengers Infinity War Movie Review
Director: Joe Russo, Anthony Russo. Writer: Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely. 2018.
In honor of “No Spoilers” I will keep this short.
Seeing all the characters try to fight one big threat was so epic, and the music made it take that extra notch towards epicness. The story was kept fast and moving since the very begining, managing to even mix some comedy into it. Despise the fact that they had over 60 characters they managed it to keep what made thm unique intact while mixing them with the rest of the universe.
10 years in the making, 10 years leading up to this, really pay off. Joe and Anthony, as well as Christopher and Stephen (lest not discredit the writers) managed to create such and intense film and so full of so many emotions that they jusy raised the bar for all future MCU and superheroes films, like, even others within the MCU do not match up to what A:IW did.
And whatever hurt and heartbreak you were expecting: It’s way worse.
I’d give it 7 out of 5 fights against Thanos.

Black Panther Movie Review
Director: Ryan Coogler. Writer: Ryan Coogler, Joe Robert Cale. 2018.
I’m going to start with the basics. For starters the visuals of it were amazing, the set designs and especial effects were amazing, as well as the customs, you can tell the hard and profund research that went into creating it all. The story is good, easy to follow and interesting, the soundtrack it’s so good and it does an amazing job with setting up the mood for every scene.
Killmonger makes a great villian, because we understand what made him who he is, where his ideas come from and all the path that he’s taken make sense to us.
Worth to mention, that epic fight scene in the casino that we we’re giving a sneek peak off, it’s so amazing, the red dress that Okoye is wearing makes it look (and stand out) so elegant and firce and during the fight it brings a lot to the visuals, and being shot in one take makes it an extraordinary scene. (you can watch Ryan Coogler break it down right here x)
This movie its very revelant today, because while still taking time to be funny and happy, the action and drama it takes its time to tell us about colonialism, racism and all the struggle that africans had to go through.
And finally, this movie it’s so well done because it was made by black people for black people, it was something revolutionary, needed and it will make great representation for kids, and youth, and even adults, because it tells them that they can be leaders, warriors, scientist, they can be all they want and so much more.
I’d give it a 6 out of 5 movies in the MCU

Thor: Ragnarok Movie Review
Director: Taika Waititi. Writer: Erick Pearson, Craig Kyle, Christopher Yost. 2017
Taika managed to revive the Thor trilogy. Previous installments had tried to go in a more dark and serious path, and while still being watchable movies, it felt like something was missing, and that something was Mr Taika Waititi.
While keeping the movie upbeat and funny he captured the audience and brought us into his story. He brought us a great characterisation of the characters we’ve been seeing since 2012, finally bringing us a truly God of Mischief where Loki is neither good or bad, but he still wants to cause chaos, and even managed to redeem the brothers bond. The new characters were good and Hela makes great villain.
The pace is kept upbeat but it gets intense when it needs to, the action sequences are good and the photography is beautiful, and the soundtrack really helps making the movie, I don’t think I’d be able to lisent to Immigrant song without thinking of Thor Ragnarok.
And lastly, Waititi also managed to bring dark themes into the movie without it feeling too strong, like dictatorship and colonization and the destructions of a whole civilization and their home while also teaching us a lessons that we are part of something and our culture will travel with us even if we no longer are at out Homeland.
I’d give it a six out of five weird New Zealand directors.

Spiderman: Homecoming Movie Review
Director: Jon Watts. Writer: Jonathan Goldstein, John Francis Daley. 2017
The friendly neighborhood Spiderman we deserve. At first I wasn’t expecting much of a third make of Spiderman, but I think that Tom Holland did an amazing job at portraying Peter than for the first time we are remainded that Peter is in fact a kid trying to keep up with adult issues.
I feel like it was well constructed, the story was interesting and quick develop, we have time to care more for Peter and get a sense of who this new spiderman is, it’s fun and upbeat at times and serious when it needs to.
The characters are engaging and fun to watch interact, there’s growth in Peters character and even the five appearances of Tony lead us to believe that he has changed as well.
There are a few possible continuity errors within the MCU, but something could’ve scaped my mind. For example, if Tony brought in Peter and supposedly he signed the Accords then the world should know who he was or if he didn’t then Tony was just allowing him to little avenge all over new York without getting sent to the raft? And why was Tony developing a new shield for Cap if Steve is now an outlaw in Wakanda? Or maybe he was just preparing for when he needed to being Steve cap back in. Anyway, I almost took a point because of this, but it makes up for it in Tom Holland’s performance, specially in the second half of the second act and the third act.
I’d give it five out of five spiderman remakes.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Movie Review
Director and writer: James Gunn. 2017
Let’s point out the obvious first, the soundtrack and the visuals were stunning; they followed the amazingness that was the songs that were chosen for the fist movie with the second, giving us amazing classic songs that make the sotry feel more real and relateable. As one of the few MCU movies that takes place in space we expect some beautiful imagery, and they don’t fail to deliver this, the coloring and lightining of the scenes really make this one of the most beautiful movies, visually.
We are met with characters we already knew, and in this installment they are given tragic backsotries, we hear more of who they are and what they’ve been through, given that this are characters that we already care about it makes them feel more real, so it makes this movie feel more serious than the first one. (the scene between Nebula and Gamora will break your heart)
The story is good and the pace the movie takes is good and you can keep uo with is easily, the dark parts are balanced with the comedy, and the end is very touchy-heartwhelming. The new characters are interesting and I’m excited to see more of them.
I’d give it five out five baby groots.

Doctor Strange Review
Director: Scott Derrickson. Writers: John Spaihts, Scott Derrickson, C. Robert Cargil. Based on the comics by: Stan Lee. 2016
I honestly didn’t expect to like it as much as I did; the MCU hasn’t disappointed me yet.
One side note before I get into the movie; what’s with the new intro? I know this is the cinematic universe but I kinda liked the old one better, it kind of remain us where it all started.
The first thing that I have to talk about for this film is the outstanding level of the special effects; the special effects team did an amazing job on this film, and it must not have been an easy one sinde 90% of the movie has effects, however they don’t loot over the top.
I think the whole theme is pretty cool; in the MCU, the only other time we have been able to see “magic” was in the Thor movies and The Avengers, with Loki’s shenanigans and now we get a whole movie centered around this concept and it makes it unique within the MCU; and as well as they did on Thor they don’t tell us that this is magic, in this case we are told that they are manupulating the energy circuling the multiverse and using it to create their “spells”.
The plot was easy to follow and I think that it’s easy to understand the motives that dictate the actions of the characters and the goals they are pursuing; it’s also easy to follow the conflict, we know how the character got to those points and we understand the “why” of it all. The conflict wasn’t resolved with a big fight like it usually is but it didn’t felt like it had to be that way. The fight scenes that we got were good and easy to follow- The movie starts with a fight scene and it was a great way to start it, right into the conflict, it dones’t feen useless, actually contributing to the plot.
There were dialogues that I thought were crack made up by Tumblr but they were actually dialogue from the movie and I was kind of surprised by this; I thought that the comedy bits on it were good and timed well, they didn’t felt out of place.
Cumberbatch did a good jod as Dr. Strange - He seems to be good at playing arrogant, know-it-all, show offs. Tilda, Mikkelsen and Ejiofar also do a great job on their respecting roles.
This movie made its wat into my top 5 MCU movies, I do recommend it.
I’d give it a 5 out of 5 MCU movies
