im having many thoughts about oikawa with an awkward, shy little thing as a partner.
it's not a new relationship, already a good couple months in. you've kissed and made out and even had sex, so you know how his tongue moves against yours and how his fingers feel curled up inside you. you know how his cock feels nudging against your sweet spot, and how the timbre of his voice sounds against your ears, telling you to be good for him, to cum for him, just one more time, i know you can.
and yet, despite him having coaxed more orgasms out of you than any of your past partners ever had, it—well.
it still gets embarrassing, telling him how needy you are.
it's awfully cute, he thinks. the way your eyes will move over him, teeth absently digging into your bottom lip, probably thinking about the feeling of his tongue swirling around your nipples.
it's horribly endearing, the way you'll snap out of it when he asks you if you need something, feigning ignorance. the way your eyes will widen a little and you'll swallow harshly, shaking your head and saying everything is fine, like he can't see your hands clenching your shirt or the sudden movement of your thighs closing tightly together.
it's really, honestly terrible, but so much fun, teasing you when you get like that. spreading his legs a little so his sweatpants can give you a clear view of his dickprint. stretching and raising his arms over his head to allow his shirt to ride up, revealing the taut muscles of his stomach.
it's so easy, getting you worked up. all he needs to do is gaze directly into your eyes when you're speaking, until you're stumbling a little over your words and forcing yourself to look away. talking in a purposely lower voice and getting you to lean in closer to hear him, or grazing his hand over your thighs, squeezing a little to feel you stiffen, unable to look at his face for the next few minutes. pulling you close to him when you're standing up and forcing you to feel all of him pressed against you.
it's positively adorable, watching you turn more flustered and more desperate with each touch and look he gives you.
and sure, maybe it's a little mean, drawing it out and waiting for you to come to him.
but no one ever said he had to be nice, and the image of you shyly asking him to fill you up is one that he can't stop himself from recreating.

Oikawa - Childhood Friends to Lovers
Request: Hey! could you write a childhood friends to lovers scenario with Oikawa and a f/reader. Maybe you could do it in stages? like kindergarten to high scl to collage to marriage to their first child. (imagine best friend but they don't know they r in love, like the reader helps him impress his girlfriend and comforts him when he looses or helps him when his knee hurts. And it finally hits him like a ton of bricks that she is the one- sorry this is just me rambling over how much I love him.❤) Thanks
a/n: Thank you for waiting so patiently for me anon 😭 I’m so sorry you had to wait so long! But it’s finally here! I didn’t end up getting them to the marriage part cause the word count was getting out of hand, but I hope you still like it! 💖 I hope this was worth the wait! (Also I didn’t proofread this so there’s probably a few typos and grammatical errors in this too 😭 I’m sorry!)
Pairing:  Oikawa x fem!reader
Words: 2.5K
Warnings: hints of angst and comfort, mostly just fluff, romantic tension, and a cliche love confession
Tumblr media
It was recess, and all of the kids in your class were outside climbing on the playground and playing games with each other. Well, all of the kids except for you.
On the first day of school, it seemed like everyone was able to make friends except for you. Kindergarten was pretty scary and you were too shy to talk to anyone, so you had a tendency to spend a lot of time by yourself. Not only that, but every attempt you made to make friends and play with the other kids was typically met with turned backs.
You sat on a swing at the playground and watched as the other kids giggled and ran after each other. You dangled your feet and drew little shapes in the sand; did anyone else feel this lonely? Is it normal to feel this way?
Suddenly, a ball struck the sand and bounced towards your feet. You look up and see a boy with brown floppy hair scampering towards you. He stops and greets you with a big grin.
You looked up at him inquiringly and then down at the ball at your feet; ah, that must be why he’s here. You tapped the ball with the tip of your shoe and rolled it over back to him.
“No silly,” the boy giggled and reached down to grab the ball. “You’re supposed to play volleyball with your hands!”
“Oh,” you mumbled, feeling embarrassed. “Sorry.”
“You’re (y/n) right?” he said as he spun the volleyball on his palm. “I’m Tooru Oikawa! I can teach volleyball. I’m pretty good y’know, and I’m gonna be a pro someday!”
You looked up at him wide-eyed. He knew your name?
You nervously fiddle with your fingers and dig your shoes back in the dirt. “You… don’t mind?”
“Nope!” he said, bouncing the ball in his hands.
“What’s the hold up, Loserkawa?”
A spiky-haired boy runs up to Oikawa and gives him a playful swat on the head. Oikawa pouts and rubs the spot where he was hit.
“Iwa-chan, you’re so mean~” Oikawa whines.
You tried to stifle a giggle, but ended up bursting into laughter. The boys share a confused look with each other and shrug.
Oikawa outstretches a hand to you, “Come on, everyone’s waiting!”
Outside of team practices, Oikawa was hitting jump serves left, right and center until his palms were numb. You saw the blood, sweat, and tears that went into each hour of his practices. He didn’t just want to do jump serves, he wanted to perfect them; and perfect them he did.
Yet, it still wasn’t enough to beat Karasuno.
You’d just finished consoling Iwaizumi after Seijoh’s defeat against Karasuno. Iwa urged that you talk to Oikawa, as he had a tendency to sit and brood over his failures, especially when it came to volleyball.
You got off at the next train stop and hurried to Oikawa’s place. You didn’t bother calling or texting him because he had a tendency to ignore them when he was feeling down.
His parents let you in and you made your way to his room. You stood outside his room, let out a big sigh, and softly knocked on the door.
“Hey,” you said, peeking your head in.
No response.
You let yourself in and noticed how dark it was inside. The only source of light for his room was the light from his laptop playing replays of professional volleyball matches. You saw him curled up into a ball with his blanket on his futon with the curtains shut.
You walk over and sit down next to him. There was only silence between you two, save for the background noise of the professional matches playing on TV.
“(Y/n),” he mumbles into his pillow. “Did you come to try and cheer me up?”
You exhaled a half-assed chuckle. “That was the plan.”
You saw him side-eye you, not in a threatening or dismissive way, but rather in a way that indicated he was waiting for you to speak.
You raised an eyebrow at him. “What’s with that look?”
“You’re not going to say anything?” he said, sitting up.
“Tooru,” you groaned. “There’s nothing that I could possibly say to you that you don’t already know.”
He turned to fully face you, his expression curious.
“That’s the worst part,” you continued. “I know how hard you work and how determined you were to move on to beat Shiratorizawa. You obsessively analyze game after game, play after play, and make the effort to refine every bit of weakness you thought you had. Yet, that still wasn’t enough.”
Oikawa scoffs and rests his chin on his knees. “Sorry for not being a prodigy like Tobio-chan.”
“Listen,” you said, placing a hand on his arm. “This isn’t just your loss. I was just at Iwa’s earlier today giving him the same pep talk. He’s just as devastated as you are, and I’m sure the rest of the team, especially the other third years, feel the exact same way.”
Oikawa pouts and narrows his eyes at the TV screen in front of him. Ugh, he could be such a child sometimes. For god’s sake, you guys will be graduating this year. You’d think he’d learn to manage his emotions better than this.
You continued. “I could tell you that you’re going to have to change your strategies, but you already know that. I could tell you that you need to cooperate better with your team, but you already know that too. It doesn’t take a genius to understand all of that.”
Oikawa nodded, but still didn't budge from his position.
“Look at me, Tooru.” you said, grabbing his chin so that you could turn his head to face you. “My point is that you didn’t get to where you are from being a prodigy, and you didn’t get there alone. The fact that you guys were able to keep Karasuno on their toes after their astronomical improvements shows how great of a team you guys are. You guys brought out the best in them, and I think that’s something to be proud of.”
Oikawa, still facing you, averts his eyes from you to watch his TV, until you lean in and rest your forehead against his. You could feel him jump; you couldn’t tell because his room was chilly, but you could have sworn that his face started to get hot.
“You are the most hardworking, dedicated athlete I know,” you said, placing your hand on top of his. “You got to where you are right now because of your own efforts and dedication. Every success you’ve had comes from the fact that you don’t take failures lightly, and that you do everything it takes to make yourself that much better for next time.”
He cradled your cheek in his hand and looked deeply into your eyes; after a moment, he finally allowed himself to smile. Yes, it was that smile; not the smile he puts on to mask how he truly feels, and not the smile he puts on to deflect pity from other people. This smile was warm, comforting, and sweet, just like the real Oikawa.
You squawk as you suddenly feel a pinch on your cheek.
“(Y/n)-chan,” he snickers, sticking his tongue out at you. “I didn’t realize you thought so highly of me. If you wanted to get so close to me you could have just asked me out on a date~”
“Whatever,” you swatted him on the arm and looked away blushing, “No more pouting, okay?”
It was times like this where Oikawa was reminded of why you were one of his best friends. You didn’t take any bullshit from him, yet always seemed to know exactly what to say to make him feel better.
He didn’t know a lot of people in his life that were like that to him.
—
After you guys graduated high school, you, Oikawa and Iwaizumi went your separate ways to pursue your career paths. Iwa was in North America, Oikawa in South America, and you stayed in Japan for college. You kept in touch with the boys as often as you could, although you seemed to keep in contact with Oikawa the most.
Oikawa was visiting from Argentina for a much-needed break. He was only in town for ten days, and you offered for him to stay at your place while you were on break from classes.
You guys were in the middle of having dinner and you were filling each other in on all of the things happening in your lives. Last you heard from Oikawa, he was seeing a girl that he met in Rio.
“You broke up!?” you choked. “But I liked her! What happened?”
“It didn’t work out,” he said as he dished up his food. “I guess we just didn’t really click that well.”
“You did in the beginning though,” you said with a twinge of jealousy. “I thought you really liked her.”
“I guess I did,” he shrugged. “It didn’t feel any different from my past relationships though.”
“What do you mean?”
He dug his chopsticks into his noodles and took a bite.  After chewing and swallowing, he said, “She was no different from my past girlfriends.”
“Meaning?”
He paused a moment to collect his thoughts. “I always try to be upfront with my dates about my lifestyle. I try to make it clear to them that volleyball will always be one of my top priorities. They always say that they're okay with it in the beginning and then get mad at me for not dropping everything in my life for them.”
“I get that you’re a busy guy,” you said. “But I don’t think it’s unreasonable for your girlfriend to want to spend time with you.”
“You know me, (y/n)-chan,” he said as he ran his fingers through his hair. “I’ve always struggled with making time for other people.”
“You never have any issues making time for me,” you said. “We’re literally in two different time zones and you still manage to keep in touch with me. I mean, you’re here, aren’t you?”
Oikawa tries to hide a smirk from sneaking onto his face and averts his gaze from you.
“So… what’s the issue?” you said, stirring your food.
“I guess,” he sighed. “I didn’t feel like she was worth my time.”
You cocked an eyebrow at him.
“I don’t mean it in a way that makes me full of myself,” he said, a hint of defensiveness in his tone. “And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with her. I genuinely just think we’re better off with other people.”
You feel a wave of relief pass over you; you’re not sure why, but you couldn’t help but feel glad that Oikawa was single again -- not that you were interested, or anything. It’s just that you wanted him to have more time to focus on his dream, and you just wanted him to be happy… or something like that.
“Enough about me,” he said, stealing bits of your food off your plate. “ You must be beating guys off with a stick, (y/n)-chan~”
“Oh please,” you scoff. “I wasn’t very popular in high school, so naturally things aren’t much different in college.”
He grinned at you and tousled his hair. “I guess I had nothing to worry about, then.”
“Hm?”
“Nothing.”
At the end of the ten days, you drove Oikawa to the airport and waited with him until he boarded his flight to San Juan. Oikawa gave you his hoodie to wear after you mentioned how cold the airport was. The two of you sat on the chairs, looking through your phones and showing each other tiktoks and memes that you thought were funny. Then, the announcement called for the boarding of his flight.
You both stood up and gave each other longing looks; this will be the last time you see Oikawa for a while until at least Christmas, which was still months away. You so badly didn’t want him to leave; it felt like he just got there yesterday.
“I guess I gotta go,” he said.
“Oh, your hoodie--”
“Keep it,” he said, patting the top of your head. You looked up at him, trying to fight back the tears that were stinging your eyes. You wrapped your arms around his torso and buried your face into his chest; you wanted to prolong your memory of his scent for as long as possible so that even while he was gone you still had a piece of him left behind at home. You felt him tighten his arms around you and take in a deep breath. You rested your ear against his chest, and you could hear his heart hammering.
You pull away from him and look at him with concern, “Tooru, are you oka--
You were met with a soft pair of lips against yours. He held both sides of your face with his hands and sweetly deepened the kiss; warmth radiated from your chest and sent tingles throughout your body, igniting your cheeks. You smiled against his lips and returned the gesture with an equal amount of love and tenderness. He broke the kiss and rested his forehead against yours.
“(Y/n),” he said breathlessly, gently brushing your red cheeks with his thumbs. “I’ve loved you for so long, but I’ve been too self-absorbed to realize it until now. You’re the person I want to spend all of my time with. That’s why no other girl could ever seemed to be worth my time, because you were the only one that seemed worth it to me.”
Wide-eyed and rosy-cheeked, you looked up at him, barely comprehending what had just happened. You placed your hands on his chest and stared into his eyes, and smiled when you realized that, after all this time, you had felt the exact same way.
“I’ve loved you too,” you said, feeling a little embarrassed at passerbys staring at the two of you. “You picked one hell of a time to tell me, though.”
“I’m sorry,” he chuckled. “I couldn’t pass up the opportunity for you to make such a cute expression like this~”
The final boarding call for his flight sounded and he pulled his bag up over his shoulder before indulging in one more kiss from you.
“I love you,” he whispered against your lips as he tucked a few strands of your hair behind your ear. “God, I love you.”
“I love you too,” you replied, trying to tame your rapid heartbeat. “I’ll miss you so much.”
“I’ll call you as soon as I land,” he said, trying to resist the urge to just stay with you and miss his flight entirely. “I promise.”
“You better,” you tease, pecking his lips one last time. “Now go! You’re already late because of me!”
As he walked towards the gate, he turned around to stick his tongue out at you and gave you his signature wink. “It was totally worth it though~”
You simply shake your head and smile back at him with a wave. He got his passport checked and, before entering the gate,  he turned around and blew a kiss to you before finally boarding the plane. Of course, you wouldn’t expect anything less from him.

Meeting Oikawa in Rio
Summary: Reader is a travelling photographer who encounters Tooru Oikawa in Brazil.
Words: 2.6k ( i went a little overboard I’m so sorry)
Warnings: none; strangers to friends to lovers kind of idea, slow burn, beach vibes, idk that’s mostly it
a/n: This is a request for the lovely @trash-revel!! 💖 I’m so sorry this took forever it’s probably filled with typos and grammatical errors! That said, I loved writing this 💗 Also, sorry if it’s a little too long, I felt a little too inspired! I tried to sprinkle a little bit of Portugese in it with the help of google translate (if anyone here speaks portugese I hope I didn’t butcher it and hopefully did it some justice).
Tumblr media
As a travelling photographer, you were living like a nomad, always on the move without a home base to call your own. Instead of renting a house or an apartment, you usually stayed in hotels or airbnbs. Your goal was to travel the world and capture all of the beauty you could find in it… and little did you know that the most beautiful thing you were going to find was on your travels in Brazil.
You woke up early that day, unsure if you were actually on a healthy sleeping schedule or if it was the jet lag talking. You were enjoying your morning coffee out on the balcony of your airbnb in Rio as you watched the sunrise over the beach. The water of the ocean gently tumbled into waves onto the shore as it reflected the vibrant gradients of the morning sky. If you squinted hard enough, you could faintly see Christ the Redeemer in the distance on the mountain. After a yawn and a deep stretch, you decided that it was time for you to get ready for your daily adventure.
You prepared yourself for the unforgiving heat by slathering sunscreen all over your body and wearing loose-fitting clothes. As you got dressed, you could immediately feel the fabric cling to you from the humidity. You made a note to bring deodorant with you because you knew way too well that chafing was only inevitable on hot, humid days. You packed your bag with your camera lenses, a couple of water bottles, some snacks, an ice pack, sunscreen, and other things that will help you navigate your new temporary home. You finished off your look with a hat and your camera slung around your neck so you could have easy access if you see anything interesting to shoot.
After reading up on some of the attractions in Rio, you decided to visit Tijuca national park. You’ve been wanting to get out on your feet after an incredibly taxing, twenty-one-hour flight from Australia, plus there was no way you could pass up getting shots of all of the diverse flora and wildlife. Your plan was to hike as deeply into the forest as you could and then stop at the botanical garden to relax and do some sightseeing.
You sat at the bus stop, just minding your own business and intermittently reference the bus schedule on your phone, when a voice pulled you from your thoughts.
“Erm… perdão,” said a voice that was very much not from around here.
You peeked over to see a Japanese man, probably in his mid-twenties, trying to talk to an elderly man sitting on the bench at the bus stop.
“Este carro... uh... é para o lugar da árvore?” the Japanese man said tentatively, clearly struggling with the language barrier.
The elderly man blinked a few times, and responded with “Que?”
You were equally as confused. Based on the little bit of Portuguese that you knew, you were pretty sure he was asking for a car to drive him to a tree.
The Japanese man grew a bit frustrated and scratched the back of his neck. You could tell the poor guy was embarrassed, so you tried to see if you could help him out.
“Do you speak English?” You ask the Japanese man.
He locks eyes with you, and it hits you how handsome he is. His smile is disarming and his eyes are gentle. His physique is well-built like a professional athlete, and he was dressed like one too.
"I do," he responds. "Maybe you can help me. I'm looking for the bus that goes to Tijuca national park."
"You're in luck," you say, gesturing to the map on your phone. "That's where I'm headed."
You both boarded the bus, which was packed like sardines, and made some small talk along the way.
“Tooru Oikawa,” he says with an outstretched hand. “I’m a volleyball player.”
“(Y/n) (l/n),” you reply with your hand in his and give it a shake. “I’ve never met a professional athlete before.”
“It’s been a dream of mine since I was a kid,” he smiles and proudly runs his fingers through his tousled hair. “Are you a photographer? I just noticed your fancy camera.”
“Yeah,” you cradled your camera in your hand and fiddled around with the lens. “I wanted to check out the wildlife here and maybe try out some new techniques. I figured the national park would be a good place to start.”
“You know, shutterbug,” he says, striking a pose. “ I have some experience in front of cameras. Not to brag or anything, but I’ve been in a few local magazines back at home.”
You roll your eyes and chuckle; this man really is something else. He’s definitely charismatic and charming -- not to mention very handsome -- although there’s something else to him that you can’t put your finger on. There was something about his smile that just didn’t sit right with you. It reminds of you of how you were at family dinners; despite how much was on your mind, you just kept smiling to avoid rocking the boat. But, maybe it was just your imagination.
You arrive at your destination, depart the bus and find an uphill path that leads deeper into the forest. The two of you decide to walk together and continue to get to know each other. You tell him about how you were a travelling photographer and you had a lot of your works published in different magazines. You also tell him about your travels and all of the places you’ve visited.
“What’s one place you haven’t gone to yet?” He asks as he kicks a stray pebble. “Where do you plan on going once you’re done here?”
“Definitely Japan,” you say. “That’s up there on my list, especially the countryside. I just think the scenery there would be amazing to see in person.”
“I’m from the country, you know” he said with a wink. “Maybe we’ll have another fateful encounter there and I’ll show you around sometime~”
You can’t help but hide a blush from hinting at your cheeks.
Despite how flirtatious he is, he seems genuinely interested in you. And you’re equally impressed by him; the way he talks about his history with volleyball demonstrates his deep passion for the sport. He talks about volleyball as if he was knight preparing for battle; he goes into detail about strategies, formations, techniques, everything that makes a good volleyball player. He also goes into detail about his past rivals, although there was an edge to his voice when he talked about them. You decide to not pry too much on the subject.
“So what you’re saying is that you’re kind of a big deal,” you say.
“I mean,” he responds with a wink. “If you think so, then I won’t argue.”
That’s when a toucan flutters out from the bushes and nests into his hair. Oikawa panics and flails his arms, trying to shoo away the bird, but it seemed to have no intention of leaving his locks.
“Wait,” you say, steadying your camera in front of your eye. “Don’t move.”
The look on Oikawa’s face jumps from surprised, to angry, to embarrassed. He crosses his arms and pouts with red cheeks; it seems he was trying to make a good impression on you and the toucan sabotaged his plan. His pout slowly relaxes when he sees the look on your face; you were so mindful about the angle, the lens, and the lighting; it reminded him about how he is with volleyball. He also had to admit, you had a really cute smile; he simply smiles and accepts his defeat.
“Sorry,” you say, snapping a few more. “I’m almost done.”
“No no,” he says. “Take your time.”
That’s when you notice something different about him; this smile seemed totally different from how he was smiling when the two of you were on the bus. The way he smiled then seemed routine or rehearsed. This smile, however, was enough to make your chest flutter. You swear if more people saw a smile like this from him, the world would be a much better place.
“You better send me a copy of those,” he teases, sticking his tongue out at you. “Someday, people might pay good money for them.
“You know it,” you say with a giggle. Although, you couldn’t tell if he was complimenting your work or if he was just that full of himself.
You walk up to him and gently lift the toucan off his head and toss it into the air for it to fly away.
“Well, I hate to leave you like this,” he said, pulling out his earbuds from his pocket. “But I need to get my afternoon run in. I look forward to bumping into you again soon, shutterbug~”
With that, he jogged away, leaving you in a small cloud of dust. The nickname sticks with you and endears you more to him. You stand there with a smile on your face, as you hoped that this wouldn’t be your last encounter with him.
And it wasn’t. As a matter of fact, bumping into Oikawa became a near-daily occurrence for the two of you. You always took the same bus to the national park where he went for jogs and you went for photo ops. Although, the two of you eventually exchanged numbers and made plans to hang out somewhere else.
Every time you talk to Oikawa you always learn something new about him; you learn that his favourite food is milk bread, that his best friend, Iwaizumi, is taking sports science in college, and that he was captain of the volleyball team in his third year of high school. You tell him about your home country and what it was like growing up there, and how you’ve been pursuing photography since you got your first DSLR camera. You tell him about your favourite foods, your favourite music, and your favourite movies.
One evening, after Oikawa was done practice, the two of you decided to make plans to grab dinner and go for a walk on the beach. At dinner, the sun was still high enough in the sky that it wasn’t quite sunset, but it was low enough in the sky that the temperature started to cool off.
The more you think about it, the more it starts to feel more like a date.
“What kind of photos do you take?” he asks. “Now that I think about it, I don’t think you’ve shown me any of your work.”
You take out your phone to open up your digital portfolio and you hand it over to him. He scrolled through your gallery and saw various shots from nature, urban settings, and studios.  He came across a folder in your gallery labelled ‘100 Strangers.’
“What’s this all about?” he asked, flipping through the images.
“Oh, that’s just a long-term project I’m working on,” you said. “My goal is to take portraits of 100 strangers that I meet in my travels and post little blurbs about them.”
“I’d offer to pose for a picture for you,” he says, leaning in as he rests his elbows on the table. “But it seems like we’re not really strangers to each other anymore.”
You can tell he’s flirting, but you don’t let him get away with it that easily. “I still have those shots of you and the toucan, you know.”
He flinches and hunches over in embarrassment. “You’re a meanie, shutterbug~”
“What?” you say as you take one last bite of your food. “I love that picture. It’s cute.”
He suppresses a grin as he digs his fork into his food. He tries to act nonchalant, but the blush on his cheeks betray him.
“So,” he says, bringing his food to his mouth. “You think I’m cute?”
A blush sneaks onto your cheeks and you avert your eyes from him. From the corner of your eye, you see him grin to himself in satisfaction. You avoid answering him entirely and just ask the waiter for the bill.
It’s now sunset and the two of you were walking on the beach. You decide to take off your sandals and just enjoy the feeling of the warm sand in between your toes. The breeze was perfect, and it was enough to take the edge off the humidity. You then take out your camera and start adjusting the settings on it. It was golden hour, after all.
You glance over at Oikawa, who ‘s just at the edge of the water and dipping his toes in. He looks out onto the horizon, where you could barely make out the silhouettes of the mountains, and takes in the balmy breeze. The wind swished through his hair elegantly, sweeping it just the right way that made it look effortlessly styled. You steadied your camera and snuck in a couple of shots.
He looks over his shoulder at you upon hearing the shutters and grinned. “Couldn’t resist a photoshoot of me, shutterbug?” He held up a peace sign and placed a hand on his hip, awaiting more shots from you.
After getting a few more shots in, you join him at the shore and dip your toes in, jumping at how surprisingly cold the water was.
“You didn’t answer my question, you know,” Oikawa says, turning to face you.
“Huh?” you chuckle nervously and tuck a few strands of hair behind your ear. “What question?”
“Do you think I’m cute?”
You hesitated and wiped your clammy palms on your shorts. You definitely developed feelings for Oikawa, and you were sure he felt the same way about you. The problem, though, is that you were hesitant to jump into a serious relationship, given all of the travelling that you do.
“I...” you murmur, nervously wiggling your toes into the sand. “Listen, I don’t want to get your hopes up. I travel a lot  and I get so busy with work that I--”
“Hey,” he chuckles while scratching the back of his neck, trying to mask his disappointment. “It’s totally alright if you don’t think so, I just thought--”
“N-no it’s not that,” you blurt out. “I don’t want to jump into anything serious only to have it ruined when I eventually start travelling again. I really do like you, Tooru, but I don’t think that would be very fair to you.”
Suddenly, you found yourself merely inches away from him. He softly chuckles and places his hand underneath your chin to tilt your face up to meet his. You look up at him, your face hot from both nervousness and excitement.
“You put a lot of pressure on yourself, don’t you?” he says, as if he wasn’t one to talk. “Don’t worry about all of that stuff. How do you feel right now?”
You feel his fingers gently combing through the ends of your hair, sending tingling sensations all through your body. Your pulse quickens as he places a hand on the small of your back; he doesn’t go any further though.
“I…” you murmur, leaning in and placing your hands on his chest. “I think you’re really cute.”
He lets out a hearty chuckle and wraps both of his arms around you to pull you in closer to him.
“Well, that’s a relief,” he says, inching closer to you. “Because I think you’re very cute, shutterbug.”
You close your eyes and meet your lips with his. From that day forward, the two of you spent everyday together until you left for your next destination. You always kept in touch with one another through text, video chats, and voice calls. Even through the challenging times, the two of you wouldn’t have wanted to be with anyone else.

anon who asked about the request, I didn't mean to rush you dear. Take all the times you need to write!!! ❣❣ (In the meantime imagine Oikawa trying to calm his baby who is crying because she doesn't recognize him with his glasses on. The poor boy is trying his best to sooth her and takes of his glasses and she just calms down - IDK if this makes sense just a random thought 😅)
I promise I’ll do my best with it! 💖💖💖  omg that’s so freaking cute 🥺
Oikawa’s sitting on the couch watching a movie or something and you’re getting ready to put your daughter to bed and you’re just like “ok let’s say goodnight to daddy!”
So Oikawa’s excitedly sitting there with his arms outstretched and ready to pick her up and cuddle her when her face immediately falls flat and she starts BAWLING. He and you share very worried looks with each other like did I do something?? Is she hurt??
She keeps looking back at you with the most heartbreaking and terrified look on her face. You sit down next to them on the couch and rub her back to reassure her.
“It’s okay honey,” you say to her. “It’s just daddy!”
She looks back up at Oikawa, watching him like a hawk. He smiles and sticks his tongue out at her, something that usually makes her giggle, only to make her scream even louder. She covers her face and latches onto you to hide from him, and you can just see how absolutely heartbroken Oikawa is that his own daughter is so distraught when she’s normally is so affectionate with him.
“I don’t get why she’s so scared of me,” he says, visibly very bothered by it. You knew how he gets when he feels like he isn’t doing something right; he was always worried about being a great dad, and challenging moments like this always brought him down so easily.
“She might just be tired,” you say, gently rubbing his arm. He frowns and his focus falls to his feet. He takes off his glasses to rub his eyes, as he was clearly frustrated with himself. That’s when it dawned on you.
You turn your daughter around to face him. “Who’s that?”
Oikawa gives you a look like you’ve got two heads.
Immediately, a toothless grin outstretches her face and she launches herself onto him. She squeals with giggles and nuzzles into his chest. A relieved smile falls onto his face as he kisses the top of her head and gives her a gentle squeeze. He shoots you a loving look, feeling silly that he let himself get so down, but so thankful that you are his other half.

too easy. (sugawara koushi)
➵ falling in love with suga was easy. being friends with him was much, much harder.
wc: 3.2k
warnings: none really. i think i curse, like. once
a/n: this one’s for everyone who requested suga during my fluff alphabet event bc i remember spending a couple of days with nothing on my mind but him,,, also yuki :( your tags always make me so SOFT & shy,,,
Frankly, how were you supposed to not fall in love with Sugawara Koushi?
You could still remember the day you’d met with startling clarity. You, shy and nervous, roaming the halls of Karasuno in an attempt to find your homeroom class. You’d tried to stay calm, but that was more of a feat than you’d anticipated. You couldn’t entirely say why it was setting off your anxiety so powerfully; was it simply nerves? Who could say?
But even if it was just nerves, they were manifesting with a particularly strong voracity. You’d been pacing around the hallways, almost in a perfect circle, for far too long. You felt stupid. You felt embarrassed. But at this point, the same group had seen you… what, seven times? Asking them for help seemed mortifying. You were running out of options; sure, you could’ve asked a staff member for help, but you couldn’t actually see anyone.
It was at that point that you bumped into someone.
Oh God. You’d already made a bad enough impression. This could only make things worse.
You turned around like a general facing his final battle, afraid but astonishingly resolute.
“Are you… okay?”

ok jk gimme som suga first date hcs
⤔ coffee study date!!
⤔ it would be the most adorable thing ever okay hear me out
⤔ he would say it was something super casual just like ooh let’s get a coffee together and go over the subjects for tomorrow’s test, super sweet super simple
⤔ but he shows up looking like a God, like seriously, you’d dress up casually and he’d be all dressed up because it’s his chance, master of disguise planned the whole thing out
⤔ would use the chance to spoil you. pays for your drinks, comes back with two pastries for you two to share
⤔ uses the fact it’s a study date to move in closer to you so he can “explain the subject properly”, totally not just because he wants to
⤔ you look up from your book and see him holding a fork with a piece of the pastry and he has a big goofy grin just waiting for you to take a bite
⤔ but you do get into studying and he’s a super good study partner because he’s very smart
⤔ when you notice the time it’s already super late and mr smooth himself doesn’t hesitate to give you his jacket while he walks you home
⤔ tells you to keep it, too, “you can give it back tomorrow!”
⤔ he won’t kiss you on the first date he’ll kiss the corner of your lips and then leave just like that

Carrying his scared fem s/o halfway though a haunted house (Tooru Oikawa x fem!reader)
Request: Oikawa carrying his female s/o halfway through a haunted house because she got too scared??🥺🥺
This is such a cute idea ugh 💗 I’m sorry this took so long! I was trying to make this good but writer’s block hit me hard with this one 😞 there are lots of typos and I don’t feel 100% confident with it but I didn’t want you to have to wait much longer! i hope you like it anyway anon!
Pairing: Tooru Oikawa x fem!reader
Words: 1.1k
Warning: mostly fluff with some terrible watered-down horror descriptions
Tumblr media
You knew Oikawa was an enthusiast for the supernatural, but you didn’t think he’d be the type to want to go through a haunted house.
Admittedly, you’ve never been to a haunted house before, so you didn’t really know what to expect. You liked horror movies, you figured a haunted house should have been fine.
The haunted house was out in the middle of the country. The organizers took an old house and built an attraction into it
some well-known movie special effects artist was said to have worked on all of the effects in the house to really enhance the viewer’s experience.
There were strobe lights, AI technology, holograms, actors in suits, mechanical doors… all sorts of, uh, fun things.
According to reviews, the house was terrifying and it offered a surreal experience for each guest.
Great.
You eventually made your way to the front of the line and you were let in.
Oikawa was ridiculously excited. He was almost as pumped up as he was for a volleyball game. You, despite trying to keep a cheerful exterior, were trying to tame your nerves. You resisted the urge to grab Oikawa’s hand once you entered; you were determined to enjoy this experience just as much as him.
You were brought to the foyer, which had an elegant staircase in the center and hallways leading to different rooms on either side. An extravagant chandelier hung from the ceiling with dim lights illuminating the room. The musty stench of old wood mixed with fog juice hung heavy in the air. The ends of the wallpaper curled up and the floorboards creaked under the gentle impact of your footsteps. In the dim lighting, if you strained your eyes hard enough, you could make out the various portraits staggered on the walls going up the staircase.
“Let’s go upstairs, y/n-chan!” Oikawa said as he gently grabbed your hand. You responded with a nervous smile as you let him pull you along, praying that he didn’t notice how sweaty your palm was already.
The stairs creaked as you were climbing to the second floor. You resisted the urge to look down at your feet to be wary of any actors in costumes prepared to reach out and grab you. You decided to shift your focus over to the paintings, which seemed innocent enough.
“These are cool,” you said, mostly out of the impulse to settle your nerves. Oikawa excitedly swings your hand and points at a painting adjacent to you two.
“Look at this one,” he said, gesturing to one. Upon your first glance, you saw a woman smiling mysteriously and wearing a wedding dress and veil. She was very beautiful; her hair was silky and styled into curls that cascaded over her shoulders. Her eyes were warm and loving, just like her Mona Lisa-like smile…
Until a bright red light flickered from her eyes.
You flinched and latched onto Oikawa, who nearly took a stumble down the stairs. He laughed it off and wrapped an arm around your waist to ensure your safety before guiding you back up the stairs. You inched in closer to him and he kissed the top of your head; little did he know that your gesture was less out of affection and more out of your own protection.
On the next floor, you went into one of the bedrooms. It appeared to be a little girl’s room, given the pink bedding and the unicorn rocking chair near the vanity. This room was dimly lit like the foyer, although there some additional lighting from the open window.
You already didn’t like the looks of this. You knew that as soon as anything horror-themed involved children that it would be anything far from pleasant. You felt Oikawa’s hands slide off your waist and saw him walk over to the vanity to admire the various trinkets laid out on the desk.
“Ooh, what do you think these do?” He said, fiddling around with them. He held up a toy car and tried rolling it around on the surface. He paused for a moment, as if waiting for something to happen.
“Tooru,” you said, trying to keep your voice from wavering. “I don’t think that’s such a good idea…”
“Hm?” He turned to look at you in slight confusion. “What’s the matter, y/n-chan?”
“Oh, uh, n-nothing!” You immediately tried to brush it off.
He narrowed his eyes and smirked down at you. “You’re not scared, are you y/n-chan?”
“I-- No!” You squeaked, trying to gather your composure.
Suddenly, you heard a door creak. You flinched your head to the entrance, but everything appeared as normal. You placed a hand on your chest to calm your heartbeat and turned back to face Oikawa, when you were suddenly met with complete darkness.
You heard a scream followed by maniacal laughter that filled the room as the darkness settled. Strobe lights flickered as a fog was sprayed into the room from the open window. Your heart hammered in your chest; you held out your hands, thinking maybe your eyes would adjust and you could see them in front of you. Your breathing grew shallow with the scent of the fog, your chest growing heavier with each breath. You so badly wanted to call out to Oikawa, but you didn’t want to put a damper on the experience for him. You swallowed the lump growing in your throat and tried your damn hardest to maintain your composure. Then, the lights flickered back on.
You breathed out a sigh of relief. Thank god, you thought. Now we can move onto the next room. You stood up and scanned the room to look for your boyfriend.
“Hey Toor--”
You were suddenly met with a distorted, bug-eyed, crookedly smiling girl with matted black hair standing merely inches from your face.
You were absolutely petrified, so much so that you couldn’t even scream. You dropped to your knees and hid your face into your hands. You sat there and just whimpered into your hands, waiting for this nightmare to be over.
You then felt a familiar pair of arms wrap around your form and lips lovingly press against the top of your head.
“Y/n,” he said sweetly, cupping your face in his hand and brushing your cheek with your thumb. “I’m here. Everything’s okay.”
“I’m sorry Tooru,” You whimper into his chest, your nerves shot and your body frozen. “I tried so hard to enjoy this because I know you like this stuff, but I’m terrified of stuff like this.”
“I had a feeling that was the case,” he said. “I’m sorry love, I didn’t realize it would be this bad for you.” You could feel him run his hand through your hair and then onto your back to rub soothing circles into it. You both sat there for what felt like hours. But you didn’t care, and Oikawa didn’t either.
Once you were well enough to stand, Oikawa turned around and crouched down for you to climb up into a piggyback. You hopped onto his back and hugged your arms over his shoulders.
“I’m sorry,” you murmur.
“No need to be sorry, love,” he said, his voice a bit more playful. “I’m just happy you’re here with me. Although, maybe at the end we can call it even with a thank you kiss~”
You giggled into his neck and gently pressed your lips to his skin. “If I must.”
And just like that, the rest of the night seemed a lot less scary.
Tumblr media
I’m so sorry the ending is so cheesy but it was the best thing my brain could come up with 😭
simp with me💗
