I’m so tired of this conspiracy some people in the fandom keep clinging to. The idea that Jake is just some elaborate cover. That every photo is “planted" or a “misdirection.” It’s so far removed from reality at this point, it would be laughable if it wasn’t turning so toxic.

What this narrative really does is frame Nicola as dishonest. Not private. Dishonest. Deceitful. It implies she’s playing games with her own life, intentionally misleading people, building a fake relationship for optics. And that’s so cruel and unfair.

And if these people kept that theory in their own echo chambers, fine. Annoying, but harmless. But they don’t. They bring it straight into Nicola and Jake's comments. They create troll accounts. They follow their friends and then get mad when they post. They act like detectives trying to uncover some secret truth, when really they just can’t let go of a fantasy that never existed.

The leaders of this narrative are doing real damage by convincing their followers that what they are seeing is not real. The photos, the timelines, the way Jake shows up in Nicola’s life are all dismissed. They tell their followers to ignore it, to wait, to believe something bigger is coming. So people stay on the ship. They wait for a reveal that is never going to happen. That kind of build-up creates pressure. When reality does not match the fantasy, the frustration turns ugly. And the worst part is that it is not directed at the people who kept the lie going. It is directed at Nicola, simply for living her life.

About Luke’s character getting questioned…

Okay, it seems I am going to be taking on the role of Luke and Nic’s defender this week because people are seriously pissing me off!

I am seeing a lot of people questioning Luke’s character and say that they feel deceived by Nic and everybody who ever said that this man was a kind gentleman who respects women. Why? Because they cannot reconcile this image of him with what they know now which is that he’s had a girlfriend for the past year that he only now was comfortable publicly claiming.

First of all, we have seen her around him for over a year now. He never hid her existence but he did keep his relationship status with her private. We do not know them, for all we know, their relationship could have been casual up until recent months and he only now felt comfortable being public with her. It is not up to you to tell somebody that you don’t even know when they should feel ready to come out and publicly claim their relationships. Especially not after he went through a very public breakup with his ex-girlfriend, he may have felt now that he needed to really make sure the relationship is solid before making it public and official.

Second of all, you do not have any idea how the hate and scrutiny they both faced during the summer has affected their relationship and maybe they needed to protect that for a while and work through it before they were both ready to make it public. It was very clear in that video of them arriving to the event last night that they were both nervous, especially Antonia, she straight up looked terrified and who can blame her after all the hate she received?

Third of all, Nic also was with Jake in some capacity since May or even April and only made it public in recent months. Neither her or Luke deserve any hate for protecting their relationships until they felt ready for the public.

Honestly I don't really understand why Luke having a gf means that the entire WT was PR? I have been following Nic and Luke from season 1 they have ALWAYS been like that with each other. I just think that it got more unhinged and sexually charged bc they started to have to kiss and be naked lol. Like I mean sure I side eye them they should have reeled it in but imo they were genuinely just being themselves with each other.

No body deceived anyone or lied. They were just being their beautiful selves ❤️

I’ve been waiting and watching to see if anyone else mentioned my favourite moment from the carriage scene.

When Penelope has her ‘reaction’ moment that neither of them expected, I thought it was the sweetest thing that you can make out her right hand going to his cheek. In a split second she recognised her reaction could have been misinterpreted by Colin as being painful, her caress is to reassure him it is quite the opposite - he’d struck gold and that’s where she needed him. Her subsequent descent into pleasure as he repeated it was all it took.

The unspoken communication between the two is so evident. They connect on a completely different level.

But that one sweet gesture of reassurance amongst all the beautiful choices and organically driven, highly emotional and incredibly artistic displays of adoration and worship was just the cherry on top for me.

She knew without thinking he’d be devastated if she were hurt, his gaze watching intently to make sure that didn’t happen, his attentiveness and care in such an intimate moment - just pure perfection.

I cannot speak highly enough about their performances and feel truly blessed that they could feel comfortable and empowered enough to inspire a whole demographic on what it is like to truly make love, how important the right partner is, how taking your time to truly connect on a soul level (even as friends) makes it so much more. To be open and vulnerable with each other but not apprehensive or nervous as there is complete trust and deep friendship to make it so pleasurable, especially for Penelope whose experience is nothing.

A true turning point and instruction manual on how it should be done.
