With every passing episode, my desire to have Ladybug and Chat have a full-blown argument increases. I’ve talked about this before, but seriously, I want shouting, and voices cracking, and actual crying. I’ll take Chat being akumatised at this point, but just - 

Adrien threatened to take off his ring. To stop being Chat Noir. I understand Marinette wanting to keep her identity from everyone, but she’s so busy and scatter-brained sometimes (no hate, it’s relatable, Mari) that she doesn’t have time to give more than a, “Sorry, no time!” whenever Chat begs her for answers. As far as we know, these kids don’t ever communicate outside of the orders they shout at each other during akuma battles. For two people with such a massive secret who can only confide in one another, that is just. Not enough. And Ladybug keeping Chat at arms length would have to be maddening - Chat, who’s kwami isn’t very forthcoming, who’s father literally locks him up and keeps him separated from everyone else - and I just really want to see proper, painful consequences for this. I want to see Chat properly upset, rather than just mad and sulk-y. 

I don’t think the cartoon will ever do this, but I’d take it in fic form. If anyone has recs, send them my way

Rapunzel was Raised to Not Show Physical Affection

We’ve all seen that Gothel makes Rapunzel come to her for hugs, but today I realized it goes deeper than that. Gothel doesn’t want Rapunzel showing physical affection unless she has been given specific permission. Opening her arms is that unspoken permission.

For example, towards the beginning, when she’s reminding Gothel that it’s her birthday tomorrow, she grabs her arm in exuberance. Gothel is put out and then pries Rapunzel’s hands off her arm, all the while pretending she doesn’t remember (or care) that her birthday - something Rapunzel is extremely excited about - is fast approaching.

She also uses Rapunzel’s need for physical affection, deliberately taunting and “teaching” her with it by pretending to offer it, then taking it away immediately.

The first bazzilionty times I saw this movie, I always assumed Rapunzel was relieved to see Gothel towards the end of Mother Knows Best just because she was scared.

But now I realize it’s not only because she’s scared, but because Gothel is now giving Rapunzel permission to seek the creature comfort of physical contact that she so desperately needs after the gamut of fear she’s run.

Eugene, on the other hand, starts showing physical affection as soon as he starts feeling any affection for Rapunzel at all. He uses it as a comfort. Yet Rapunzel keeps her hands to herself.

It continues when he gives her the little flag, touching the small of her back in an affectionate way. But her hands (and attention) are full at this moment.

In fact, the first time she realizes she’s touching him, and he’s touching her, and there’s affection and enjoyment buzzing between them, she’s the first to pull away.

She’s alarmed at first, then apologetic and sheepish. Sorry I was touching you, Eugene. And he politely takes a step back, tuned in to her discomfort and giving her a little more space.

But that is why the moment on the boat is so important, and why Rapunzel has the reaction she does.

In taking Rapunzel’s hand, out of the blue (as far as she can tell), it’s sending her a clear message that he feels the same about her that she does about him, and that physical affection is both alright and wanted. That he will seek out her attention in a way Gothel never has. And from this moment on, she touches him often, holding hands for the rest of the song, brushing his hair from his face as he lay dying, and never letting go of his head, even after he’d died in her arms. Not to mention kissing him when he lives again, holding hands on the balcony while they wait for her parents and end-of-movie smooching.

shadam/adashi scene analysis

and why y’all need to stfu about it being “””abusive”””

“Takashi, how important am I to you? Every mission, every drill I’ve been right there with you, but this is more than a mission, this is you life at stake”

the main reason why ppl are saying Adam was being abusive is because they’re completely misunderstanding this quote.  Adam isn’t saying “oh this mission is important? what about ME aren’t I more important than your dreams?”

If you listen to the scene properly you see that he’s saying two separate sentences.  What he’s actually saying is: 

Think about how you feel about me.  I’ve always supported your dreams and career, but you’re putting you’re health at risk and you can understand how much that would scare me

“I know I can’t stop you, but I won’t go through this again”

He didn’t give Shiro an ultimatum, he’s communicating to his boyfriend that seeing Shiro hurt himself over and over is too painful for him to keep subjecting himself to.  Also, maybe unpopular opinion but..

They didn’t break up?

“so if you decide to go, don’t expect me to be here when you get back”

“The Garrison doesn’t want me up there… Neither does Adam…”

(sorry for the absolutely nauseating gifs lol) like… idk about you but this doesn’t look like a break up? it looks like a fight.  Neither of them are acting like they just ended a serious relationship.  I think when Shiro left for Kerberos they left things on bad terms but I don’t think they definitively ended their relationship.

honestly what would be the point of showing shiro and adam's deep backstory and their relationship just for them to never see eachother again? you cant tell me they arent gonna get back together.

ive been thinking about a lot of headcanons lately about shiro and adam so enjoy

when adam sees the news that shiro "died" on the kerberos mission, he is distraught and refuses to believe it.

he kind of pulls a pidge and researches all he can about the mission, but the only info he could find is that there is no proof they are dead

he feels extremely guilty about what he said to shiro and is hoping that he can apologize and just hold his boyfriend again.

shiro is in the galra prison and the only reason he hasnt let go of hope is because he wants to get home and see adam once more (and take care of keith)

shiro has a picture of him and adam that he keeps while they're in the prison.

when adam hears that shiro was found in a crash landed ship, he is really upset he wasnt there to see shiro, and that he once again disappeared

shiro is constantly talking to keith about how much he misses adam or how much he wants to hug him again

keith in return talks about his gay problems

when the paladins return to earth (after the galra leave them tf alone) there are so many people crowding them and trying to talk to them as they have been missing for so long

shiro is smiling as all his space kids reunite with their families :)

someone calls shiro's name but they call him takashi so he obviously knows who it is

he turns and sees adam whose eyes are filled with tears and shiro heart is dying

its really awkward for a moment because they are technically broken up

but once adam bursts into tears shiro pulls him into a hug and alSo cries??

adam is like "they told me you were dead and my heart broke" and shiro is just like "technically i died like a million times sO they were right??"

adam apologizes for not supporting shiro in his choice to go to kerberos and shiro in return apologizes for not listening to adam because he was just trying to keep him safe

keith is just sitting behind them because he has no family to reunite with and hes just like "god damn it, kiss already"

shiro yells at keith for cursing before adam pulls him into an emotional kiss

adam and shiro get back together and are engaged once more

honestly i have a lot of headcanons about these two gays and i have lots about their wedding because they were hECKING ENGAGED??? anyway enjoy.

yall adam isnt an asshole: an essay by me

so we all know about the big news. shiro is gay and has a fiancé (i guess ex :( ) back on earth named adam. now i have seen too much people hating on adam because they are saying that adam doesn't support shiro's dreams. THAT AINT TRUE. shiro is sick. he doesnt have too long to live. now he wants to go on a mission, that is pretty dangerous, and adam is against it. adam clearly says he doesnt want to go through this again. key word: again. shiro has done a dangerous mission once before, that probably had adam worried. its no wonder he is worried about shiro going on the kerberos mission. also this is a mission that will take about a year to complete. shiro only has a few more years to live. adam wants to spend the last of shiros life WITH him obviously. he didnt want to go through the heartbreak of losing shiro on the mission, so he broke up with him. he didnt NOT support shiro's dreams. its clear that he did. if you look at his face in that scene it is clear that adam is hurt. not only did shiro get hurt when they broke up, but so did adam. they were both pained as they loved eachother deeply. if you dont think that adam still loved shiro after he left him, you are lying. imagine adam watching the news that there were complications on the kerberos mission. imagine him hearing that the love of his life- the man he was going to marry- was dead. imagine him feeling so terrible that the last thing he said to shiro was that he wouldnt be waiting for him when he got back. do not tell me adam is an asshole and doesnt deserve shiro. they both hurt eachother. they both need to fix the relationship as it isnt just adams fault. thank you for coming to my ted talk.
