as a writer for peter myself, i’d like to share some of my thoughts on this situation, especially after seeing how this situation has been handled.

1. it needs to be known that these actions are not okay. i personally reported her account and left a message, and i encourage everyone to do the same. basically: reminder to be respectful of other people and their property!!!

2. just because a situation makes you angry does not make it okay for you to attack people. the girl who stole the works is THIRTEEN. she’s incredibly young and chances are she hadn’t even learned about plagiarism before stealing those works. in NO WAY am i condoning what she did; my point is that she is young and this situation needs to be addressed maturely. getting a sudden influx of hateful comments as a thirteen year old is something that could result in terrible consequences, and i hate to think that she might do something irreversible (AKA harm herself) due to this situation. yes, she should be confronted and educated about why her actions are bad, as well as how to fix it and learn from it, but attacking her only makes the situation worse.

this is just a reminder to approach all situations with maturity and perspective!! give people room to grow instead of overwhelming them with hate speech. it’s unproductive and immature, overall just worsening the situation.
