this is all super low-cal stuff you should be able to get at your local asian grocery store!
1) Orihiro konnyaku jellies - vary between 49 and 52 kcal per jelly. These are pretty large (4.5 oz/130 g) and SO GOOD! They’re very sweet, and do have real sugar (12g carbs/10g sugar per jelly). for my sweet tooth they work great. And they come in a zillion flavors, my favs are lychee and peach. There are other low cal jellies out there, some include little coconut pieces in the jelly. But this brand is my fav!
2) Oi Ocha Green Tea. An absolute necessity for me. Best iced, but you can have it hot if you prefer. It’s a little bit of an acquired taste because it’s unsweetened, but it is so good and such an easy way for me to drink a ton of green tea every day. At my market they sell these 2-Liters and also 20-oz bottles, and they come in a bunch of varieties. 0kcal.
3) Miso & Easy miso soup base concentrate. This stuff is AMAZING, it makes awesome miso soup by just adding it to hot water (I use my tea kettle to heat the water and just mix them in a bowl). 20 kcal for 3/4 cup of water + 1 tbsp of the base. I usually double it & the 1 1/2 cups of soup is really filling! good for when you’re tired of broth. There’s also a low sodium and lower cal version, this is the full cal version.
4) Shirataki noodles: I’m sure you’ve heard of these. I find the best prices at my local Japanese market!
