Can we appreciate how amazing Shindou was in El Dorado 2 despite everything playing against him?

The adults literally threw him under the bus to do their job (again) and he still managed. I mean:

A Team with only 3 other Raimon players, arguably the most troublesome (Kariya, Amagi, Kurama) and then only El Dorado players

Emotionally isolated as he has no close friend in the Team

Forced back into the Captain position that he dislikes and emotionally manages poorly

Said Captain position earns him the spite of the entirety of El Dorado players instantaneously

Only Chrono Storm player in his Team

Which is arguably the weakest in terms of line-up if you factor the number of Keshin, Armed, and Miximax users

All El Dorado players hate Raimon

The El Dorado players do not even get along between themselves

When asking Sakamaki, their COACH, for help, he just throws the usual "If you're not able to solve that by yourself you're not a true Captain"

They can't afford to lose the match and we know how well Shindou handles pressure (he does not)

As if the Team was not chaotic enough Zanark joins last minute

During an entire half literally nobody listen to him and the narration still tries to make us believe it's because he is a bad commander

When he finally manages to get some authority by pure sheer will despite being on the verge of crumbling himself, his tactics fail because the coach "forgot" to give him crucial information

Coach gives him this crucial information in form of a fucking riddle "you're smart enough to understand by yourself" bro???

And when finally all falls into place Zanark goes berserk again and almost jeopardizes the whole thing???

Please can we appreciate the pure determination and cold-headness he had to demonstrate when we know his record of being extremely sensitive and emotive, poorly endure pressure, have a problem of self-deprecation concerning his captain abilities, and a trauma related to powerlessness.

His most critical asset as a player is that of being a gamemaker and he's put in a Team where he is denied it.

Yet he won this match almost all by himself, and then is humble enough to credit the Omega trio for the victory.

People mock Shindou for being a crybaby but considering all he had to go through I think he's pretty strong actually. I would have crumbled.

Just please. Can ONE adult just ONCE in his single life treat him fairly.

Aki being the only manager to not join in when Raimon are playing after the Genesis match is a very subtle way of showing how she's still traumatised from Ichinose's accident. She quit playing football after his supposed death but became a manager because, even though she grew afraid of the ball, she still loved the game and couldn't completely abandon it.

But towards the end of season two, when she has the opportunity to kick the ball around with her friends, she doesn't take it. Even though she knows Ichinose is alive, even though she clearly loves football as much as the rest of those sakka freaks, she can't bring herself to kick the ball just yet. It shows that Ichinose's miraculous survival didn't magically erase the years of grief or fear. And why would it? She still saw him get run over. She still thought he was dead for years. That sort of trauma doesn't disappear over night.

Despite her smiles and cheer, the accident still haunts her.

But I like to think that her decision to become Raimon's manager shows that she's on her way to healing. Maybe she isn't there yet, but she has Ichinose and Domon and the rest of her friends. Maybe down the line, a couple months or years after the series ends, she's finally able to kick the ball again, able to enjoy the game that has her whole heart with her friends at her side.
