Fear the fear and do it anyway! When I finished my ride to Whistler less than two weeks ago, I thought “I have done this and I am done! Yesterday I overcame and slayed one of my biggest fears. Leading up to riding to Whistler I had sleepless nights and constant self-doubt. I have been road riding since the end of May. Someone told me that I was not built to be a climber. Hills would not be my strength... well, I killed those hills right and proper! Things that I witnessed during my commute today: 1. Beautiful trails and amazing weather ♥️ 2. A coyote walking around in the trail 😮 4. Drivers running stop signs 🤬 5. A driver harassing a cyclist 🤬 6. Drivers driving way too fast (if I am cycling at 30km in a 30km zone and you pass me... you are speeding!!!!) 😡 7. Other cyclists running red lights 😡 8. A cyclist playing 80s music really loud in his boom box 😂 9. People of all ages cycling 🚵‍♀️ ♥️ In my personal opinion, this world can only be better if WE take responsibility for how we act and react. If we begin by following simple rules like stopping at a stop sign, slowing down and respecting laws and bylaws (they are there for a reason) or simply recognizing that when interacting with a vulnerable being we have a responsibility and not power over that being. Be kind to one another. Walk the walk. Contribute to our society by being a mindful citizen. Take time to think how our actions impact other people. There is such thing called karma. For every action there is a reaction.
