Jaskier is not a morning person~

“Would you mind if I got out my lute?”

Jaskier glanced over to the witcher lying beside him. He looked the most serene Jaskier had ever seen him, head tipped back into the flowers with his hands resting on his stomach, eyes gently shut. Moments like these were rare, when Geralt could completely let his guard down and just be.

“I don’t mind.”

Jaskier smiled, rolling to his feet and fetching the instrument from its case. Settling back down in the soft grass, he took in the scent of flowers and dew, and then the sight of his witcher. He was especially beautiful like this, the moonlight washing over him in a purple glow.

Jaskier felt a tug at his heart. His fingers gripping the quill pick moved of their own accord, filling the peaceful mountains with the sound of tranquil music.

“Is that a new song?” Geralt asked, a soft smile playing on his lips. He didn’t open his eyes to see Jaskier grin.

“I’m just playing what I feel in the moment.”

This piece took me 12 hours to make and I’m very much in love with it 🥰 inspired by @joeys-piano (this post)

yes the monsters in the witcher are hilariously specific but isn’t it kinda hot how geralt just like hears “this thing attacked me from the dark and smelled like cedar” and he’s like “a classic frejlkner attack. i must grind up this specific poultice and cover my sword blade with it and kill it at high noon” the hottest moments in the witcher are 1. when he’s fighting and 2. when the situation calls for it so he imparts his in depth knowledge of like, every monster thats ever been sighted on the continent

True, Dandelion was late, he admits that, and maybe he did not have time to properly adjust his hair or check his clothes and then he also run up the stairs to the classroom and now he really needs to catch his breath, but surely he can not look that bad. “Your neck!” another student sitting in the first row exclaimed. “Truly, you look like you’ve been attacked by a vampire!” “Are you in pain?” someone thoughtful asked. ”Tell us did you have to risk your life to save your witcher friend again?” someone less thoughtful asked, although sounded far more interested.  “Will you sing about it soon?” Dandelion finally managed to catch his breath. “I am quite alright, thank you all.” He cleared his throat and pulled the collar of his vest higher to cover the fresh bruises on his neck that were the work of no other than his mentioned witcher friend.  “Now,” he continued, re-tying an unruly bow above his knee, “before I tell you how I fought a fleder yesterday night let’s focus on assonance and consonance…”
