There was an oddly colored tree on the hill behind his house. It peeked in through the slatted window blinds, wanting to be noticed, playing coy. But the blinds made it hard to get a good look at it, no matter how he twisted his head they blocked him in some way. He drug himself to his feet.

'Oh.' It was not an unusual response, always soft spoken, full of love and admiration. It was all he needed to know just how much Cin loved him.

The earth is a womb from which all things are birthed. You start from nothing, maybe a soul, you are created and when you die she takes you back into herself and remakes you a new body.

He sat and watched the scenery go by, the lush trees and tall grasses, sheep and cows sitting the fields. The crystal clear river giving life to the vibrant spots of color in the wildflowers. He turned to survey those around him. Heads down, phone screens on, videos of cats. The taste of copper filled his mouth; disappointment. He rubbed his tongue against the roof of it and looked back at the tall inviting mountains.

Everything was impossible at some point, until it wasn't anymore.

Idly wonder if maybe you really shouldn't be together.

Just breathe. You try to:

-Kill the anxiety,

-Let love win,

-"Mom, can I come stay with you for a while?".

Nothings the same again after that

Only the memories of what you were, a relationship in

Quietly you sit and contemplate.

Rearrange your thoughts and try new things.

Some nights you surrender to the ache,

Thoughts wild and yearning for that time before, wondering if you'll ever return to that place.

Understanding, when you wake in the middle of the night, that it won't and theres nothing in front of the two of you anymore. No future. Everything is

Viscous; the blood in your veins slows, the air itself gives resistance to your movement. There is nothing more you can do and it

Weighs on you. Turns your mouth brittle, to paper,

Xeric, when you finally have the talk.

You know that theres love, that there was love, but you've both stopped nurturing it in each other and one of you 'can't do this' anymore. Neither of you should.

Zingerber tea helps settle how nauseous the loss makes you, but each day you find you're drinking just a little bit less.
