It was a rainy day, so Vector thought it wasn’t a good day to play. Unfortunately for him, his best friend was rather dim.

"Don’t you want to go for a swim?!" asked Yuma, bouncing on his heels.

"No, I hope old man Nasch keels," replied Vector.

"But boy oh boy! Having a swim in the rain is a great joy! I even brought my swim toy!" said Yuma, holding up a rubber duck.

Vector stared at Yuma, dumbfounded. Never before had he been so confounded.

"Why the hell are we rhyming?" asked Vector.

"It makes for great timing!" responded Yuma.

Vector rolled his eyes. Yuma’s pleading was going to eventually turn into cloying cries.

"Okay, okay, enough with the rhyming, I’ll go for a swim if it stops your whining!" sighed Vector.

"You rhymed again!" laughed Yuma.

"Shut it or I’ll call my puma!" screeched Vector.

I’ve reached peak white haired bishounen. This is the sickest, most disgusting creature made at The Cursed Content Factory yet. He can’t even walk properly because he has too much hair. He’s immortal so he’s been living with all known diseases and extreme loneliness for as long as the universe has been alive. I’m super proud of myself.

That's right, this year we're making a dive into flower language, and we selected some prompts that, in your skilled hands, will surely make a beautiful bouquet! Note that you don’t have to follow the prompt word-for-word, you can draw your fave/suitable character with the flower as well!

Week 1: Welcome! Hello!

August 1st: Hibiscus - Welcome! (Introduce yourself! What should we call you? What do you do in life/in your free time? How did you get into Zexal and what do you like about it?)

Week 2: Our favourite moments

August 4th: Arbutus - You are the only one I love (Show us your favorite character! Tell us what do you like about them and show them some love by making a drawing, an edit, a moodboard... your imagination's the only limit!)

August 5th: Adonis - Remembrance (What's your favorite moment in Zexal and why?)

August 6th: Lobelia - Arrogance, malevolence (There's no good story without an antagonist or a villain, and Zexal got plenty of them! Who's your favorite and why?)

August 7th: Lily of the Valley - Tears (Despite its general lighthearted tone, Zexal also has plenty of sad and/or disturbing moments. Is there one that made you cry, or made you angry? Why?)

August 8th: Mourningbride - Unfortunate love (Every story has its size of secondary/tertiary characters, that sadly got shelved and forgotten once they've fulfilled their duty. Show them some love!)

August 12th: Virgin’s Bower - Filial Love (Another big theme of Zexal is family relationships. Do you have a favorite group of siblings, or do you want to imagine something regarding the parents? The floor is yours!)

August 13th: Moonflower - Dreaming of Love (It's all about romantic love today! Show us your favorite ships: canon, semi-canon, crackships, Ocs and sonas, all in good fun!)

August 19th: Gentian - I love you most in sadness (Is there an angsty moments in the show that you particularly liked? Or something you wished you saw only to be disappointed?)

August 20th: Thorn-Apple - Disguise (Think of a fun costume for the characters to wear, or make a crossover, or throw them into an alternate universe! What will they do now?)

August 21st: Vervain- Enchantment (Magic in zexal)

August 22nd: Daphne - Sweets to the sweet (Time to eat! Think of a recipe you associate with Zexal, or draw the characters enjoying a buffet! Anything goes as long as there's food!)

Week 5: A diverse bouquet (Assorted)

August 25th: Tamarisk -Crime (Let your favorite commit some crimes! Or, feature your favorite crimes in Zexal!)

August 26th: Sainfoin - You confuse me (Even the best stories have something left unclear, or something we wish we saw more of. Is there something in Zexal that left you confused?)

August 27th: Diphylleia - I will show my true self to you, clarity, honesty (Time to stir some trouble! Today's all about hot takes: give us yours... and brace yourself!)

Bishounen Breed Spotlight: Shun Kurosaki

By the time the fifth generation of yugioh bishounen arrived, their genetics had completely deteriorated. Too much inbreeding and frankly, irresponsible decisions, finally piled up and exploded. Somehow, there was a sixth generation of even more messed up breeds after Arc V. Because we only asked if we could, not if we should.

Arc V took Zexal’s genetic trainwreck and drove it into a nuclear power plant. Thus, the Shun was born. And the mimic bishounen Reiji (IT’S THE SCARF. HE’S NOT ALIVE, IT’S THE SCARF CONTROLLING EVERYTHING OH MY GOD). As if to atone for their sins, they tried to fix the Kaito and Edo breeds, but only succeeded in making them look dehydrated and even angrier.

We’ve gone past the light and into the depths of hell. Read on to learn more about why you shouldn’t adopt the Shun Kurosaki.

History

Dude. It was such a simple task. Tall, dark and handsome bishounen have been done to death. They’re the more responsibly bred version of white haired bishounens. For one, the dark and handsome bishounens' gene pool is bigger than like, one guy cloned a billion times with slight personality tweaks.

Kuroshitsuji went ham with tall, dark and handsome bishounen and have reaped the benefits of it. YuGiOh’s even done it. I guess in Arc V, they decided to revive the archetype, but with a modern (2014 ish) twist.

History

It should have been a routine creation. Like shooting fish in a barrel. They had all the right ingredients. How did they mess up??

Due to the stupid amounts of bad breeding choices in previous generations, breeders tried to restabilize the gene pool with a non-bishounen to make the Shun. Nah bro, it only made him angrier.

Shun has all the looks of a tall, dark and handsome (henceforth to be shortened to TDH) bishounen, but has the personality of a hell kaiser Ryo multiplied by 10. So now breeders who think he’s a staple TDH bring him home and then he starts tearing up the carpet and screaming about his undying hatred for the fusion dimension. Then he gets dumped in a Walmart parking lot.

Care

Straight up, this guy shouldn't be baby's first bishounen despite his stock standard appearance. He's a behavioral nightmare. He eats whatever he can find, so please keep your floors clean. You can wean him out of this scavenging behavior with barbecue meats. It's gonna take awhile though. And he doesn't come with any table manners.

The Shun does best in city environments. Tall walls and long shadows make him feel safe. He's highly adaptable, so residences ranging from apartments to nightmare McMansions are great. Just don't let him live in too big a place because he'll probably end up disappearing for days and then will pop out of the ceiling when you least expect him.

The Shun likes....brooding. He likes disappearing for hours on end, so give him some space! Shuns also enjoy going to the gym and working out. It also keeps them from destroying the furniture, so at least buy your Shun a set of weights or a treadmill.

Shuns are really quiet, so don't expect long conversations. Or talking about feelings. That really sets them off.

If you are able to commit to the Shun, the results are truly rewarding. He'll protect you with his life and will remain loyal to you until the end. You have to work for it though! His loyalty can't be forced, so give him his space and hear him out whenever he does talk.

HEALTH ISSUES

Oh boy. This guy's indestructible to a fault. There have been multiple owners who have abandoned their Shuns, only to be hunted down by them. ADOPTING A SHUN IS NOT A DECISION TO BE TAKEN LIGHTLY.

PLEASE, FOR GOD'S SAKE DON'T JUST TAKE HIM IN FOR HIS PRETTY FACE! I KNOW YOU WANT TO BUT PLEASE DON'T!

His genetics have blessed him with an abundance of health, but his brain seems to have suffered the brunt of his predecessors' messed up genes. He gets easily angry. Random small stuff can set him off. Like squeaky toys.

Learn your Shun's habits and pet peeves quickly, lest you face his wrath!

He's physically violent as well and, unlike most bishounen, he has the muscles to prove it. Buy sturdy furniture. Learn self defense. Maybe earn a black belt to prepare for him. This guy didn't come with table manners but he sure came with the instinct for violence.

Recommended Companions

I highly recommend a Shounen Protagonist, namely, the Yuto breed. His levelheadedness keeps the Shun in check.

In general, easygoing or levelheaded individuals can help temper the Shun.

Another good choice is the terminally ill Kaito. It makes the Shun feel bad for him or something. I'm kidding. Shun treats Kaito as a rival and it provides needed stimulation for the both of him.

Do not pair him with stuffy bishounen with a superiority complex. The Reiji, for example, freaks the Shun out because

A) Not a real bishounen

B) He acts like he's better than everyone, despite being a sentient scarf-parasite

C) Apparently he smells weird to all bishounen idk

Also, he punched my Christopher Arclight in the face and I had to shell out a lot of money for bishounen dental bills. My Christopher was only telling him how to correctly eat shrimp :((

Conclusion

Do not for one moment think it will be easy living with a Shun Kurosaki. This breed goes after children, adults, the old, the healthy and the sick without discriminating. He was born to kill. He's high maintenance, but also not at the same time. You really need to let him roam or else he gets stir-crazy. Shuns were not born to be an idle companion you can keep in a room all day.

If you can survive him and earn his loyalty, you have a friend for life. Don't feel ashamed if you can't take one home. Not many people can!
