Hey guys! Welcome back to my blog! I’m still getting into the habit of blogging so thanks in advance for bearing with me. If Netflix didn’t exist I would be way more productive 🙄 I digress…today I’m going to break down my foundation routine that I use to create the flawless face look we’re all trying to achieve. I’ve tried a LOT of different foundations, like, a lot. A journey that frustrated both my husband and my wallet, but I’ve finally found my FAVORITE combo sooooo it was worth it (husband remains skeptical). Anyway, after testing what feels like every foundation Sephora carries and watching countless YouTube tutorials from my favorite gurus, I’ve pieced together recommendations with my already favorite products to create my face cake that I know and love today! SO! Here we go…

Starting with a fresh squeaky clean and moisturizzzzzed face, I prime my skin with BECCA Backlight Priming Filter. I absolutely ADORE this primer, it makes my skin look dewy and radiant and it’s just a perfect base. It even assists my dreaded forehead crease that drives me absolutely insane. I prefer to just put it directly on a damp beauty blender and cover my entire face, not neglecting the ears or the neck. Next it’s foundation time, I like a mix of 2 (a la Jeffree Star, thanks boo 😘), Dior Air Flash Spray Foundation (I use shade #201), and Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (I use shade #2). Air Flash seriously is like an airbrush in a can, it’s so dope, and I was seriously skeptical (because it’s $62), but it is totally worth every penny. I spray it directly on my face, although it can also be sprayed on the back of the hand applied with a beauty blender or brush. It doesn’t dry super quickly which I love, so there’s plenty of time to blend it out. After Air Flash, I like to go over it with a pump of my Luminous Silk Foundation on my beauty blender to get that full coverage glow, I’m officially obsessed. I have normal/combination skin, but my main concerns are my dark spots and lingering acne scars. The combo of these two foundations is just beautiful, my skin looks naturally airbrushed and fresh, it creates an ambient glow and just makes my skin look SO healthy. Blend. Blend. Blend. After that foundation is all beautifully blended I use a Sigma F30 powder brush and set the face with Kat Von D Lock It Powder (I am shade Light 44) just a light dusting is all that’s necessary, because I go back after concealer and super set everything with a translucent powder. On to concealer, my absolute favorite is the Naked Skin by Urban Decay weightless complete coverage concealer (I am Fair/Neutral), it’s full coverage creamy goodness and I feel like it just melts into my skin! Yaaaas 🙌🏻 Apply under the eyes and down the sides of the nose, then sweeping out toward the temple, in a triangle shape. Hit the chin and forehead as well and blend out with a beauty blender. To set the concealer I dip into my Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder with a damp beauty blender (it makes all the difference I swear) and press and bounce into the skin in all zee places we just concealed 😁 At this point I like to go ahead grab my setting spray and give my face I nice misting before I continue. I use Urban Decay All Nighter, but any setting spray will do. Another fav of mine is Mist and Fix by Make Up Forever. Ugh, setting spray changed my like. Especially living in Texas, which is basically a giant oven 85% of the year🔥 Now that the foundation is SET, moving on to that contour and highlight. Of course my go to is the Kat Von D Shade and Light palette. I snatched it up as soon as it launched and we have been inseparable ever since, it’s an epic tale of true love. 😍 Using the middle shade in the palette, Shadowplay (I’ve recently just hit pan, it’s devastating 😭), and a Sigma F77 brush I chisel out my cheekbones and my nose, then with a Morphe M401 brush I blend out any harsh lines and contour my jawline. With the same brush, I start at the temples and blend up along my hairline to turn my fivehead into an actual forehead 🤔. For my highlight I use a little combo of Lyric (the beautiful banana shade), and Levitation. I hit underneath my eyes and high tops of my cheekbones, lightly down my nose and cupids bow. Can’t forget the chin, and just a touch to highlight the forehead and really make sure any harsh contour lines are seamlessly blended. 👌🏻 I’ve literally worn the same blush for 11 years. I’m already like one of those little old ladies fiercely committed to the lipstick shade they’ve worn their whole lives. Not sorry. I own so many poor neglected little blushes, but NARs Orgasm will forever be my favorite. It’s just too gorgeous, and it looks great on all skin tones. I couldn’t even tell you how many I’ve purchased over the years 😳 I don’t want to know. I recently discovered that using my duo fibre brush is my favorite result for my blush application. It’s really in keeping with that soft airbrush look and it just all blends together so nicely. So, I use my Sigma F50 brush and softly blend out the apples of my cheeks to give the face a nice natural color. Last but not least, my favorite step, the GLOW ✨😎. I’ve recently become a highlighter addict, so I do like to switch them up daily, but my favorite combo is a mix of my Anastasia Sundipped Glow Kit and my Jeffree Star Skin Frost in Peach Goddess. I use a Morphe E45 into “Summer” from the glow kit to highlight the tip of my nose and cupid’s bow, then with a Morphe G23 fan brush I mix a combo of the same shade with my Skin Frost and really glow up the high planes of my cheekbones. Sometimes I’m trying to blind people, somedays I just like a little frosting. Highlight at your own discretion!! ✨✨✨✨✨✨ Finish off with a good misting of the setting spray, and VOILA! A flawless face! 😘

FAUX FRECKLES!!! Hey guys! So I watched both Mykie, and Amanda Ensing do tutorials on faux freckles and I just had to try them out myself. My skin will naturally freckle if I'm out in the sun, but this summer I'm all about sunscreen and avoiding sun damage. Also, wrinkles, the bane of my existence (the creases in my forehead will be the death of me, but more on that disaster later). 🙄🙄🙄 Anyway, so for this look I bronzed up my skin a little extra with my Laura Mercier bronzer, and paired it with my Kat Von D Shade & Light contour palette, and my Anastasia Beverly Hills glow kit in Sundipped for a nice summery skin look. I kept the eye simple and bronzed using my LORAC Unzipped Gold palette and popped on some fluffy falsies from House of Lashes. For the faux freckles, I used Make Up Forever Aqua Brow in shade #20 and a small pointed lip brush. I placed the freckles sporadically across my nose and cheeks varying in size, and trailing sparsely down the cheeks and up my nose toward my forehead for a natural look. After I felt I had a nice amount of frecklage going on I bounced a beauty blender with a tiny bit of translucent powder to smooth them out and set. Once I was fully freckled, I decided my cheeks needed a bit more life in them, so I dusted on my go to NARs Orgasm blush to add to my sun kissed look I was set to achieve! I think the end result was super cute, and a safe alternative to my sun created freckles! Show me your faux freckles! Xoxo
