HOMEWORK 2.1 // DUE WEEK 5
Next week I will be having a 1-on-1 meeting with everyone and there will also be an opportunity to meet for small group discussions.
Your credit for this week's homework will be based on what you will share during our individual check-in meeting.
Please post any and all process work to your individual board below and also include an image of the book/magazine that you chose.
Begin gathering your texts that you are considering using for your booklet.
Check-in: Are you saving everything in your process log in your chosen format for this assignment?
Visit a library or bookstore and find an example of a book or magazine that contains many different types of text/text styles. Bring it to class next week! *note, if you cannot bring the physical book because it belongs to the library, be sure that you scanned or took many photos of the text pages.

HOMEWORK 1.2 // DUE WEEK 3
Continue with developing your research -- this will help for this first booklet, and it will be good to save everything for the future projects we complete this semester. Remember your process log for keeping these valuable resources organized!
THE STORY
What do you need to expand on from your initial spreads? Do you need to provide further context? Do you need to get more specific and zoom in? Zoom out?
Establish a page map/story board for completing your visual essay and be prepared to bring a rough compilation of your pages.
IMAGE MAKING
Last week you explored at least 2 different mediums or image-making techniques. Which one will you be moving forward with? Is there something else you want to add or experiment with?
Use your chosen image-making techniques/strategy to complete the remaining pages that you sketched out.

HOMEWORK 1.1 // DUE WEEK 2
First, we start with research.
RESEARCH
After deciding on your topic, conduct visual and text research to discover more about it. Is there a specific place or time connected? Language? Who is an audience connected to this? Do you know anyone connected a community that belongs to your topic?
THE STORY
What is the story you are going to tell with this booklet? Is it informative? Is it persuasive? What is the overall tone? Do they already know about your topic, or are they new to it?
IMAGE MAKING
Observe and notate what visual image-making techniques might already be associated that you can use for this first assignment.
Decide on at least 2 different mediums/image-making techniques to explore and share with us next week
Try and tell your story in spreads using the mediums/image-making techniques you selected.
