“It’s been 60 years since my last visit… and I must say, it’s been quite a while, “Master Gracey”. Your eyes, they’re such a beautiful sky blue, with fair skin and lovely freckles. And your hair, such a long, soft purple with white streaks. It would look so beautiful in my hatbox. I’ll take good care of it, fufufu~ Sadly, there simply is no time to catch up, for he is coming. And that devil... he is quite unpleasant, I'm afraid so.”

If you would like to participate in this essence, don’t be shy! This essence is a part two to the Barriere Hotel packages! Because of this, you can find everything to do with this essence underneath the [hotel] tag, and therefore, please use [hotel] in your ask! Also, while some of the titles use gendered terms like "men", they can be any gender! An oddball. Collecting the heads of different spirits and sealing them inside his hatbox, something about them seems... wrong. He doesn't seem to have ever been human... almost like he's pure spiritual energy.

“Master Gracey” | Sophia "Gracey"

A descendant of the Gracey family. She ended up on the Barriere Hotel's grounds due to a mysterious letter simply addressed to one "Master Gracey".

The Hitchhiking Ghosts

A pair of three hitchhiking ghosts. It's said they were taken before their time, and aren't ready to depart from the living just yet... and they follow no master.

The Head Chef | ???

A hot-tempered ghoulish chef who follows the orders of the Hatbox Master. They harbor a particular hatred towards the "Host", becoming an explosive ghost at the mere mention.

The Searcher | ???

A lost soul, torn in half by the "Host" and left to permanently wander the ghost realm, sobbing in sorrow. They follow no one, too confused to realize there is a path to be desired.

The 5th Dimension | "Ba'al"

One of the few sentient locals of the 5th Dimension. The title sounds familiar... but you can't put your finger on why?

A follower of the Hatbox, "Sanguine" is loyal to the master who rescued her from an eternity of blind suffering.

Naturally, they follow the Hatbox, for the "Host" is but a cruel gleam of a life they were robbed of.

“I remember the first time I met one of my closest online friends… it was lovely! I was 12, and I had a small friend group online, because my schedule allowed little time for interacting with kids my age in real life… and I texted my online friends that I was going to be offline for a while due to performance… and to my surprise? They were all there… sitting in the audience! I was so surprised! They were my first real friends I ever had… so this memory means a lot to me.”

In the middle of a match in the Lakeside Village map, by the gate with the shore, golden lines began to glow in the area and only seemed to become brighter with every passing second, the makings of a building with the sign ‘Otis’s Doll Shop’ visible the further it had gotten and where an otherwise open space by the shore was - now stood the exact shop with such a sign, a figure with wolf like ears and a sable dog with a mask stumbling out— the former seeming surprised as they stepped into the wet sand, whilst their dog booked it quickly to the waves.

Curiosity took Blair first, a concerned Susannah following soon after.

Susannah lowered her weapon slightly before shaking her head.

“No, actually, we don’t live here… the manor placed us here. We aren’t sure why.”

Blair paused, thinking on the brief view of their surroundings before entering the mysterious shop. There was a giant boat and a dock nearby the shore. And nearby the dock was a cipher and a rocket chair.

“I saw a cipher nearby. Maybe this is one of those matches?”

“Oh, with one of those violent hunters? Man… just our luck…”

Susannah sighed in defeat. He hadn’t quite noticed it before, but now that the blonde haired girl was standing still, she stood rather… awkwardly. It was as if she was putting all her weight on one foot. Was the other one injured…?

There was an aura of mystery to the two odd survivors. One seemed rather defensive, gripping onto a bent metal pipe while looking around, while the other one looked around the shop with a morbid curiosity. However, they both dusted as much sand off their shoes as they could before properly stepping foot into the shop. They both knew the rules of common courtesy.

Susannah trailed behind Blair, who looked around, gently running her hands along different objects before settling her sights on a small doll. She reached out to touch it, but paused as the deal maker reached for their attention.

“..? Oh, I’m not completely sure… it’s like some sort of… lakeside village?”
