18 june study blogging
Did very little for the past two days because the weather was good so it was park outing time with my family!
18th is a hot and stuffy day so I'm inside studying properly again. Looks like I can finish several chapters today which is great
Been watching some ppl review their uni years and ngl it's kind of terrifying. what do you mean some profs are mean and will just ASSUME that you're an entitled child who doesn't give a shit about your studies, instead of just giving ppl the benefit of doubt that they're trying their best??? what the fuck??
(okay i'm pretty sure most of the school staff are amazing ppl but there are bad ones. lottery draw. damn...)
Currently hunting for a nice coat or a few coats with varying thicknesses that i can wear through autumn into winter and maybe into spring (context: tropical country kid who's barely seen winter going to the uk to study). I quite like the shape of the classic burberry one but I will not be spending that much money on a coat. But I'm not going for the fast fashion prices either because I both hate throwing out clothes after a few wears and shopping for new ones. Especially coats which I want to last me at least a decade. Hopefully I'll find one with a similar texture/shape to the burberry one, is well made, and also not that expensive? what even is a reasonable price for a good coat? (recs are much welcomed)

"nothing is real atoms never touch each other youve never touched anything in your life" ok. well when i pet my dog he is soft and when he licks my hand it is wet and that is far more real to me than whatevers going on at an atomic level

Finished half a chapter of my textbook. It'll be a while until I finish this whole book but the whole point of doing this during the summer holidays is not having to rush myself into finishing anything on time so I'm not going to worry about that for now.
Still procrastinated a lot, but I did something so that's a win!
Studying is much easier now that I'm reading about a major that I chose. I do not miss studying for subjects I hate (a-levels).
(Well, we did get to choose during a-levels but there were relatively few subjects and lots of requirements so...I still ended up with one or two subjects I disliked.)
Handwriting is getting surprisingly legible. Yay.
I think I'll probably pick up something else to do while I work through my politics textbook in the next few days. I'll probably go for Professor Millican's lectures which are available online (haven't tried them yet but I've heard very good things about those!).

It's summer holidays!
Planning to get into the habit of doing a bit of studying everyday until university starts this autumn: starting today with a read through my politics textbook just to get some of the basics down before I get into any other books.
(These are more chill read-through and penmanship practice sessions than the kind of studying I do during term time because I do not want to be burnt out before the academic year even starts.)
I honestly want to do a few things: get used to studying/reading through dense texts (you know, get the procrastination problem sorted out before everything starts to get hectic) and I also love studying without the time crunch of 'oh no no no you're going too slow you have like eight chapters left and the exam is in a week'. It's nice to be able to take my time with reading and consolidating information instead of constantly having to 'be on schedule'.
Also I actually want to be able to explore the area around my university. It's a new place after all. Plus it has great libraries and gardens and it'll be a shame that I can't enjoy them as much as possible just because I'm stuck in my dorm churning out homework. Hopefully reading a bit of the material now will free up some of my time later.
#i like to put my thoughts down so i can look back on it later but not sure why anyone else would find this interesting lol#studyblr#study blog#study motivation
