What Actress Ada Ameh went through before her death

Popular Nollywood Actress, Ada Ameh has died. The actress, known for her role as Emu in Africa Magic family drama, The Johnsons, died in Warri, Delta State around 11 pm on Sunday. She was aged 48. Ameh was said to have been a guest of the owner of an oil company toyshop and his family when she suddenly collapsed. It was gathered that she was rushed to the NNPC’s hospital but passed on before they arrived the facility. The most shocking thing about her death is that she had shared a video of her eating with the family around 12:53pm on Sunday on her official Instagram page. Though the NNPC hospital, Warri, has yet to make public the autopsy report, her sudden death may not be unconnected with the many travail she had gone through. Though Ameh’s death is coming as a rude shock, the truth is that the actress went through hell and battled with mental health issues long before she finally gave up the ghost. She had been undergoing mental health challenges silently until she opened up about it. She got pregnant with her daughter, Aladi Godgift, at 13, due to an early exposure to sex. And On 20 October,2020, she lost that daughter (her only child) who was over 30 years old. Aladi died after an unsuccessful surgery in Abuja. The actress visited her daughter’s grave site last year to mark her one-year remembrance. She also celebrated her daughter on the latter’s posthumous birthday. Before 2020, she lost six of her siblings (three brothers and three sisters). She then started battling with depression. In March of 2022, she lost yet another sister. Recall that a few weeks ago, the actress had opened up about her mental health challenges. “Everything is going to be fine. I have an issue right now, and it’s taking my life. I will not die. We will get over it,” she had said. The actress also said that she was given a job but could not carry it out because she was undergoing mental issues. Born on 15 May, 1974 in Ajegunle, Lagos, Ameh became famous following the role of Anita she played in the movie ‘Domitilla’ in 1996. She was also recently celebrated for her comic characters especially in the series, The Johnsons. An Idoma lady, Ada Ameh had her primary and secondary education in Lagos but quit school at 14. Some of the movies she featured in include: “Oloture”, “Our Husband”, “King Of Shitta”, “Ghana Must Go”, “A Million Baby”, “My Village People”, The movie, My Village People, tells the story of Prince a young man who, as a result of his irresponsible lifestyle, finds himself in a bizarre love triangle with witches. Police IG orders probe of Portable over claim of founding One Million Boys cult group

The Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, has ordered the investigation of Habib Okikiola better known as Portable. The controversial artiste made a revelation in a trending video. Portable announced that he formed the notorious cult groups, One Million Boys and Ajah Boys. The Lagos gangs are known for their violent activities, including murders, abductions and robbery. The police at different times arrested a number of members, while some were declared wanted. A statement on Monday by Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi conveyed Baba’s directive. “The IGP has ordered CP Lagos to investigate the indicting statement and take necessary legal action. “This directive is premised on the continuous effort to fish out pillars and sponsors of cult groups in order to decimate their activities”, it reads. Actress Mary Njoku narrates how a lawyer underrated her for being simple

Nollywood actress and CEO of ROK TV, Mary Remmy Njoku, has recounted an incident where a law firm refused to allow her to stand as a guarantor for a relative, thinking she’s not financially sufficient. According to her, the family member needed a guarantor for her rent, and she went to the lawyer’s office to sign on behalf of the relative, but the lawyer blatantly refused to let her sign even after she showed proof that she is a trustworthy guarantor and contributes to society. She claimed she spent over 45 minutes trying to convince the lawyer that she could afford to pay the rent, and when he would not give in, she said she called a male colleague, who was then allowed to sign.

She slammed the lawyer for being someone who “lives in a box” and declared that women are now doing big things too. Taking to her Instagram page, Mary Njoku wrote, “Dear Women, women are doing big things too!!! Few weeks ago, a family member needed a guarantor for her rent and I went to the lawyer’s office to sign. Spent over 45mins trying to convince her I can afford the rent but she didn’t believe me.“Thought I was an actress whose career has refused to blow. She needed a proof that I am truly the Founder of ROK. Or the CEO of the studio. I Googled my name but she no gree . For her eye I can’t be ME. I be small geh. ‘Entertainers need money to survive’ – Harrysong speaks on why celebrities support old politicians

Singer, Harrison Okiri, aka Harrysong, has shared his opinion about entertainers campaigning for politicians. The Altar Plate boss said, “It is their personal decisions. They should continue doing it if they feel it is good for them. If I feel any person is inspiring enough and will do well for the country, I will campaign for that person. One should not blame entertainers (who support politicians) because the system is messed up and the entertainers need money to survive.” The singer, who recently complained about the mindless killings in the country, noted that the government ought to do more to put a stop to it. Sit-at-home: Mayhem in Ebonyi as gunmen kill LG Chairman’s 3 brothers, one other

Unknown gunmen, on Wednesday, raided one of the populous Ebonyi community in Ikwo Local Government Area, and allegedly killed three brothers of the Local Government Chairman and one other for unidentified reasons. The gunmen invaded the community and moved straight to the family house of the Ikwo LGA Chairman, Steve Oruogwu and opened fire on the residents. Investigation revealed that the gunmen had been threatening the life of the Council Chairman, Oruogwu, since he assumed office as the Ikwo LGA Council boss, and had attempted to raze his house but were prevented by security operatives on several occasions. The unknown gunmen were said to have invaded the council chairman’s family house in the night and killed his brothers. DAILY POST learnt that the council chairman was in Abakaliki town when the unknown gunmen stormed his house. A source, who spoke under anonymity to newsmen confirmed that: “at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ebonyi, four men were brought in dead. “And out of the four deceased, 3 were from the same family.” When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Ebonyi State Police Command, SP, Loveth Odah acknowledged hearing the alleged killing of the Ikwo LGA council Chairman’s brothers. Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has revealed how former Governor Peter Odili’s decision to produce his successor in 2007 from Ikwerre earned him enemies, who betrayed him. Wike also asked Odili for forgiveness, insisting that he regretted that his Ikwerre people, who Odili fought for, were the first to betray him. The Governor stated this on Monday night during a State banquet organised at the Government House, Port Harcourt, in honour of Justice Mary Peter Odili, on her 70th birthday and retirement from the Supreme Court of Nigeria. Popular Nigerian comedian and skit maker, Josh Alfred popularly known as Josh2Funny, and his wife, Bina Alfred have welcomed a new bundle of joy, a baby boy. The popular skit maker shared the big news via his Instagram page on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. “Hello,” he captioned the photos of himself and his heavily pregnant wife. Man. United 'ready to break the bank' for Victor Osimhen

Manchester United has offered Nigerian football player, Victor Osimhen, a deal that doubles his current pay at the Italian club, Napoli. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the English Premier League giants are ready to pay about N60.6m weekly. Prior to this deal, Osimhen has been the subject of multiple transfer reports. Major Premier League sides like Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle United and Manchester United are all vying for his signature following his impressive season in the Italian Serie A with Napoli. Osimhen joined Napoli in the summer of 2020 for €80m with ads-on and has a contract with the Naples-based club until 2025. Though reluctant, Napoli is open to his sale this summer, but will reportedly seek a whopping £85m (€100m) for his services. My father has been kidnapped for weeks, Actor Uche Odoputa cries out for help

Veteran actor and producer, Uche Odoputa has cried out for help over the kidnap of his father by gunmen. According to Uche, his father, Mr Kenneth odoputa was kidnapped over two weeks ago and they have been making efforts to rescue him.
