The Bond Of Love and Protection- Raksha Bandhan

Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi, the festival to celebrate the love of brothers and sisters. The word Raksha Bandhan is originated from a Sanskrit word 'Rakshabandhanam'. It consists of two words Raksha that means protection & Bandhan which means a bond, which simply means a 'Bond of Protection.' This festival is celebrated on the full moon day of the month of Shravana, the fifth month of Hindu Calendar every year. On this day Sister ties the knot of Rakhi (silk thread, the thread signifies a thread of love and sacrifice) on her Brother's wrist, and prays for his prosperity. The Brother, in return, gives her sister a gift and promises her of an eternal bond of love and protection. Dr Rajendra Prasad- 1953 Like every festival, Raksha Bandhan too has many stories behind it. There are cultural and historical beliefs that enhance the significance of Raksha Bandhan. There are many beliefs in Hindi culture and Mythology about Raksha Bandhan. One of the most popular reverences in Hindu Culture is of Lord Krishna and Draupadi (Panchali, wife of Pandavas). On Makar Sankranti Lord Krishna cuts his little finger. Mumbai's Architectural Marvel-Rajiv Gandhi sea link

Seshadri Srinivasan's designed Bandra Worli Sea Link also known as Rajiv Gandhi sea link of Mumbai is an Architectural Marvel & let me tell you some interesting things about it- This is the most-loved bridge of Mumbai which weighs almost equal to the weight of 56,000 African Elephants. 90,000 tons of cement was used to build this masterpiece. This bridge is a Cable-stayed bridge and if we put all the steel cables together then the length of these steel cables would probably be as long as the circumference of the Earth. Isn't it mind-blowing! It took almost 10 years to build this bridge. The bridge or sea link's construction started in 2000 and this eight lane bridge completed in 2010 after four lanes being opened to public use in 2009. This 5.6 KM architectural marvel is a savior for Mumbaikars which reduces commutation time between Worli and Bandra from 80-90 minutes to under 10 minutes. Construction of the sea link was done by aced groups from India including 10 other countries, Egypt, China, Canada, Britain, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines, Serbia, Thailand and Switzerland. Unsolved Mystery of Santiago Flight that landed after 35 years

We all are aware of planes to disappear, though, there is usually evidence of what probably happens during those events to indicate that the plane has crashed — debris, luggage, or, at a minimum, records of the pilot radioing for help. But do we have ever heard that a plane set off from one place to another & disappears with nothing left behind? No, reports of distress, not even the poor weather conditions to blame on. Then one thing that comes in our mind is the Bermuda Triangle. Perhaps the most famous of these incidences are of the Bermuda Triangle, the legendary vortex where aircraft and ships seem to vanish without a trace. But what if I tell you that a disappeared plane landed successfully after too many years? On September 4, 1954, Santiago Airlines Flight 513 departed from Aachen, West Germany, destined for Porto Alegre, Brazil. The flight should have taken around 18 hours, but it took 35 years. On October 12, 1989, without any contact with air traffic controllers, Santiago Flight 513 was spotted circling the Porto Alegre airport, where it eventually made a successful landing. It was expected that Santiago Flight 513 would go the way of the unexplained vanishing aircraft — after all, no one expects an airplane to land after 35 years of missing. And it too disappeared without a trace, devoid of any communication with airport bases and showing no signs of distress. Read the full article
