Got some advice to go ahead and open up this unit as the NiCad battery inside is a common failure point in these units. Surprise surprise, it was leaking. So, to preserve this board from the harmful electrolytes from the battery I have decided to preform a quick baking-soda scrub and distilled water rinse to prevent any further damage to the circuit board.
Yesterday was quite a special day here in the Seven Hills, I picked up this Solton Programmer 24s Synthesizer slated for a full restoration. This beast is also known by its loving nickname “Italio Disco Machine” for its unique and genre specific sound. This unit is giving mixed errors on startup, but our technicians and myself are confident that she will sing again! Unfortunately we have some other smaller jobs lined up first so this unit will have to wait. We are looking forward to it! :D Check back to see more of the restoration process when the time comes.
