A/N: Awww this is such an AMAZING request, anon! I adore Sanji with all of my heart, and admittedly this is a scenario I've thought of a lot??? Since he's such an amazing comfort character??? So I wrote a ton on it 😅 I really hope you like it as much as I liked writing it, and thanks for the cute request for the best cook ever!

It doesn’t take a lot for Sanji to notice something is wrong with his sweetheart. Even the smallest things set him into worry mode; but seeing how fidgety and unable to keep still she is, how she seems on the verge of tears, how everything seems to overwhelm her? And how she’s unable to sleep, tossing and turning on their shared bed? It’s enough to want to make him cry as well. He hates seeing her suffering and stressed out, especially with something as familiar to him as anxiety. So as soon as he knows she needs him? He’s there, no matter how long it takes.  

He won’t force her to talk to him if she doesn’t want, at least at first (he does want her to tell him eventually, so it’s not bottled up). Sanji will hold her, let her cry if she needs to, pet her hair, rub her back or her arm, shush her when she worries she’s being too much for him, and try to let her release all that pent up fear and worry she has within her. His hold on her is warm, close, a little tight—enough that she can feel safe within his arms. He wants to be her safe place, like she is for him.  

One thing Sanji is good at is distracting. So, after she’s calm, he’ll lead her into the kitchen with him. He wants to spoil her and help take her out of those draining thoughts—so he’ll make her something her knows she would like. Whether it be a baked good, a candy, a light meal, he’ll go all out in prepping and cooking something she loves so he can try and coax a little smile from her, even asking her to help him if she wants.  

After she eats her snack, and he brews her a nice tea/warm drink, he’ll lead her back to bed. If she still isn’t tired, he’ll talk to her about everything and nothing. Sharing stories of his life, telling her the funny thing that Luffy did earlier, how he almost beat Zoro in a fight, about the plans he has for dinner later on. Sanji will talk until she feels drowsy, or until she wishes to open up herself about what’s bothering her. And if she does? He listens. There’s no judgement, no trying to solve her problems or invalidate her feelings, just him sitting there, listening to every word she says.  

Once she’s relaxed enough that she can at the very least lay down, he’ll make sure she’s all snuggled up under the blanket, and he’ll hold her against him. One hand firmly on her back rubbing small circles, the other combing through her hair or lightly brushing her face. Sanji will reassure her, comfort her, promise that he’ll be there for her all night and even after she wakes up, and that he’s not going anywhere.  

As soon as she falls asleep, he stays awake for a while, just watching her. He’ll make sure no nightmares are bothering her, keep checking that she’s still sleeping and that she’s resting peacefully, admiring how at ease she looks and promising himself that he’ll always be there for her, no matter what, before he starts to fall asleep himself, thankful that he was vigilant enough to prep breakfast and leave a note for the girls saying that he wouldn’t be able to cook in the morning.

Fluff hcs of Zoro and Sanji (maybe...?) Thank you!

-  Because Zoro likes to have naps under the warm, sea sun he tends to have a couple of nights where he just gazes up at the stars or watch the way they glisten against the soft rolling waves.  Although those nights aren’t nearly as magical without you to have by his side, so expect him to wake you up in the middle of the night because he doesn’t want to stargaze alone.

-  Loves it when you hold his hand when walking around.

-  Zoro becomes such a mushy mess when he’s absolutely drunk around you.  Cuddle central.

-  Apologizes every now and then because he’s not the most verbally affectionate man most of the time.  But he does make it up with soft,  loving touches.

-  Watches you wearily if you touch his swords and very tentative to you if you try to ‘train’ with it... it’s more just silly imitations of Zoro.  Surprised when the swords don’t try to hurt you... they must know.

-  Don’t be surprised by the fact Sanji has bought a matching set of aprons... very expensive looking ones at that.   As much as Sanji loves cooking for you,  he loves cooking with you infinitely more.

-  Prepare to be lovingly hand fed tastings of things he’s been trying out or to just get your opinion on the flavour.

-  You’ll have to get him to slow down most of the time.  He’s very much on the go when he’s in the kitchen and won’t stop until you tell him to relax with you.  Simply asking him about the All Blue works every time.

-  When the rest of the crew has been provided lunch,  every now and then he likes to set aside a private little picnic on the grassy deck of Sunny.

-  Lots of soft little kisses on you head or cheek,  especially loves to place them on your hands like he’s courting royalty.
