characters raised in isolation to fulfill some evil agenda is a very common trope but I'm always a little distracted wondering what massive gaps they have in their common knowledge. like. can he send an email? does he know where babies come from? how would he function in a grocery store?

This morning I woke up to my drug dealer neighbors screaming and calling someone the N word so I looked out the window to see if someone was gonna die and it was two white people losing their goddamn minds and as one of them stormed off to leave the one in the yard yelled “Yeah fuck you Stan you fucking N-“ and ‘Stan’ yelled back “My name’s not fucking Stan, N-“. Which was truly amazing from a witness standpoint, full net zero information

was talking to a coworker and realised i could not for the life of me remember his name but i was too embarrassed to ask because we've spoken multiple times so mid-conversation i started concocting a plan to nudge the conversation towards the ID photos on our building passes so that i could be like oh my ID photo is awful haha the camera they use to take these has a real talent for making me look as unphotogenic as possible and then he would say oh yes me too haha everyone says that (because they do) and then i would be able to say well let me see yours it can't be as bad as mine! and he would show me his ID because we are coworkers and why wouldn't he and this would allow me to see his building pass which of course would have his name on it and then i would be able to say well yours is perfectly nice it must be me that's the problem! and then we would have a polite chuckle about it and i would have his name without needing to ask for it and he would be none the wiser and all would be well but then before i could execute this fine plan a little voice in my head went "so this is some light yagami bull shit you are about to pull" which was such a violent reality check it shocked me completely out of my embarrassment and i went "hey im so sorry your name has slipped my mind could you remind me" and he did and it was fine.

Just saw a video analysis about if the Scooby gang could beat Light Yagami. I wasn’t worried about the gang but I didn’t realize how cooked Light was. Velma alone is way smarter than L, Freddy would instantly see through the trapped drawer that hid the Death Note and Scooby is such a wildcard overall, who is immune to the Death Note because he isn’t human. So even if he gets the rest of the gang, Scooby is coming with a vengeance.

Funniest scenario is Shaggy and Scooby trailing Light only to be confronted by him. Light tries to kill Shaggy but can’t because he would never just give away his name as “Norville Rogers.” Light thinks Shaggy is some genius playing fourth-dimensional chess with him.

Fics I currently have in progress (meaning I have written something for them other than strictly outline) include:

-Little Nightmares/Magnus Archives crossover just for Gerry to save the Girl with Pigtails (Sissa short for Epistaxis)

-Legend of Zelda/The Untamed fixit crossover where Link shows up and saves Nie Mingjue's life by playing him music. Inspired by the meeting Darunia scene in Ocarina of Time in which Link finds Darunia furious and unwilling to talk, and then Link plays Saria's Song and this absolutely disintegrates Darunia's bad mood. I actually have four variations of this in my to-write document because I keep coming up with things. Plot points include Link kinda just materializing inside Nie Mingjue's hall with no warning, playing the ocarina along to Meng Yao's murder music; Meng Yao trying to set Link up as a dangerous demonic cultivator; and Xue Yang ambushing Link only to promptly be played to sleep.

-If As-You-Wishes Were Horses: Princess Bride retelling in which almost everything is the same but Wesley and Buttercup are horses. (Humperdinck is not trying to marry Buttercup he just wants her for his animal collection.) This, too, was inspired by watching someone play Ocarina of Time

-Princess Bride but just retold as though I were telling it orally in a dramatic fashion

-First one to two chapters of Dealing with Dragons (first book in the Enchanted Forest Chronicles) told in the same way, because I keep wanting to give people a little Cimorene briefing and she's great, but I also want to go into more detail than a casual conversation probably wants

-Chapter 2 of Skull and Pyro as told to Lan Wangji from The Untamed, because there's things I think he would specifically take away from it, like the one husband's sweeping black coat and the other husband's cheer and love for spice and the teenager who's been told all his life that he has to tamp all his feelings down or else he's a monster, and the couple who've lived through that before and take him in and say no, your feelings matter and then they tear apart his cage

-Skull and Pyro chapter one retellinng, as I really want to beat-by-beat detail it to someone. Ends with "and he flips off the entire sky."

-Nona the Ninth cow AU, wherein Nona is the amalgamated souls of jod's bovine victims

-Kiered in Hisui: my DnD character Kiered as the protagonist of Pokemon Legends: Arceus

-Persona 5/Little Nightmares crossover: Mono hires the Phantom Thieves to steal Six's heart post-canon of LN2. I say "hires"--I mean more like "pulls their consciousnesses into his domain while they're dreaming and tells them he has a mission for them"

-Leverage There Was Only One Bed reverse trope where Hardison isn't getting as many snuggles as he desires because he and Eliot and Parker all have their own beds, and he has to figure out how to facilitate better cuddling (without just asking because that's no fun and I believe in my heart that Hardison would enjoy shopping for couches that accommodate his home theatre needs and three adults snuggling one of whom is Parker and therefore Wiggly)

-I Know a Bank Where the Wild Thyme Grows: Midsummer Night's Dream AU where Titania is Lysander's aunt, and Lysander and Hermia show up at the house she keeps in the woods in the middle of the night (currently stuck on how to initiate the conversation where Titania is clearly sizing Hermia up for her nephew and Hermia has absolutely figured out that somehow Lysander has a fairy queen for an aunt

-Little Nightmares/Locked Tomb crossover where Harrow and Gideon and Palamedes and Cam meet Mono and Six (and Mono and Six both have the wrong number of souls attached to their bodies, which Harrow and Pal have at least a little experience with and idea of how to fix)

went to an elementaryschool musical production and they started the show with the director saying: "Now there's some very small viewers here today, so just so you know. There will be a scary character later in the show. This is her," and a girl in a kinda scary ghost outfit did a creepy walk across the stage, then stood up straight and did a cheery wave, "but remember, it's just Nina. She's pretending to be scary."

Aaaand i would very much like for horror movies to have that as a little bonus feature you can chose. Let me start a movie with Guillermo del Toro showing me a scary ghost that might jump at me, but don't worry, thats just Doug!
