When writing Ganondorf, its important to remember to have him laugh often. He needs to giggle evily. Cackle like his witch mothers. Dude has a rotten but lively sense of humor. Its amazing hes able to keep his composure. Hes totally the type of person to bust into giggles because he had a funny thought while nothing is outwardly happening.

Nintendo gave Ganondorf such a good characterisation in Wind Waker just to squander it in later Zelda iterations.

His reflection of the path that lead to the final confrontation. The bitterness and sadness, yet the determination and lust for power that makes him stay his course.

“… I coveted that wind, I suppose.”

A more human Ganondorf. One that in his isolation and imprisonment grew wiser.

I wish Nintendo could have continued with that characterisation.

’I would refrain from killing for you, I would spare them all if you asked me’ is a very sexy alternative, and a much more powerful declaration of love coming from a character prone to violence
