A small dark elf wanders inside and up to Rueste "mama?"

Rueste angled her antennae as she heard a tiny voice beside her, glancing down at the source and finding no other than a small dunmer child.

She furrowed her brows, baffled by yet another appearance of a youngling. Mostly caught off guard from the dunmer’s inquiry of maternity, Rueste regained her composure and kneeled down.

Of course they looked nothing alike, however the pink moth was not one for upsetting little ones. Even if they mistaken her for a mother.

“Hello, little one. Where have you been wondering off to?” Rueste said softly, offering a small wave.

“Oh hey! You found another baby?” Metis trilled from the sideline, “cool, we can call them Bob the Third!”

Metis: “I’d ask if they’re the ghost child in that human horror movie with jumpscares and creepy dolls— oh wait, shit, am I in that horror scenario right now?!”

Rueste: “.. unfortunate to say that I would not be surprised should I encounter the ghost of a deceased child. The palace, as ancient as it is, host apparitions in its enormous architecture. Most are quiet and rather docile, causing nothing more than cold spots and temporary electrical malfunctions. Others are.. more apparent in their actions.”

“Prometheus, shush!” Metis pressed a sweaty palm into her brother’s face as she and Rueste shared a glaring glance at him. “Shut up, you are going to wake up Bob the Second.”

Prometheus swatted his sister’s hand away and growled lowly, “stop naming them! They’re not going to stay. We are not keeping them.”

“Uhhhhh that’s what you think. We already voted to keep the Bobs.” Metis said in a infuriating tone. “So say hello to Bob the Second.”

“We?” Prometheus sibilated in indignation, “was I not informed we were voting?”

“Rueste and I came up with it on the fly. Sorry you’re like twenty seconds late to the party, dude.” Metis shrugged, already cradling the sleeping khajiit. “By the way, has anybody seen Paradise?”

“This egg seems familiar.” Metis trilled, glancing at the egg with a befuddled look. She picked up the basket with one hand, pensively thinking. “Could it be m–”

However Prometheus swiped the basket from his elder sister, sighing. “No Metis, it’s not yours.”

“You can’t know that for sure.” Metis responded, tapping her chin thoughtfully. “It could be like that weird human religious story about a woman who had a god’s baby despite already having a husband and somehow retaining her virginity still.”

Prometheus pinched the space between his eyes with his fingers, closing his blue eyes in exasperation. “I am not going to try and process what you had said. Metis, shut up. This is not a lepidopian egg and it’s not your ‘miracle’ egg.”

“Way to bust my imagination, grumpy whumpy.” Metis warbled, bumping her brother’s shoulder with a hand. “It’s an egg, stop being so suspicious of everything. It’s not the weird alien crab-spider thing that hatched the other time an egg was left here.”

“Don’t remind me.” Prometheus snapped back as Metis took the egg basket back into her hands. She grinned at her vexed brother and waggled a finger, “I’m taking the role of incubation. I’m gonna call the egg Bob.”
