“World Scar” (18″x24″)

SKYE:  There is lava running through my blood. Painted on the day of an actual volcanic eruption. A perfect gift for your favourite misunderstood person.

ROBERT: To clarify, she means that she painted this on the day of the Kilauea volcano eruption in 2020, my thoughts going to those who were in the path of the volcano. I honestly really enjoy how this piece though looks as if the flow from the volcano itself is actually renewing the material on the outside as newer, hotter lava awaits its destructive upbringing, but a hopeful, warm-and-cool sky awaits even after such powerful forces play their hands. It gives a creepy, but hopeful atmosphere.

SKYE: Sometimes, when I dream, I see myself in a different world. It’s exhausting to process the alternating textures of reality. The blue figure represents the tired subconscious in an unreal body, and the yellow figure is the rational body, who cannot know the sub layers of reality.

ROBERT: The blue figure, oddly enough, reminds me of the Andalite race from the Animorph book series. Anything else remind them of those books for some odd reason?

SKYE:  Hi everyone! I'm Skye, 28. I'm a northeastern US-based artist specialising in traditional media. I have a fascination for culture, colour, emotion, and story-telling, and this is the main theme of my artwork. I hope that my work brings you fulfilment and inspiration.

ROBERT:  Hello all! I’m Robbie, 25. (I know it says Robert, but I find it too formal. Easier for y’all to identify me that way.) My interests range from traditional to niche media, from movies to comic books and novella, creative writing and history. I've created and am primary editor of this blog in the hopes of bringing Skye's work more exposure, as well as connecting different people based on mutual interests and curiosity.

We both appreciate you taking your time to read this over, and we hope you take some time--once we start producing and posting 'em--to check out the available artworks. Some of these will be available for potential purchase; most listings are most easily available for viewership on the Instagram page whose link is at the top of the blog itself.
