Part 1 of the Little Nightmares Sanders Sides AU featuring The Actor on his stage. At first you can’t tell he’s facing you because of the position of his legs and then he attacks you if you make a noise that will “interrupt” his “performance” of janky terrible music and jerky motions.

The goal is to get up high above him on the Stage while avoiding making as much sound as possible and flicking a bunch of switches without being grabbed so the bright spotlights all shine down on him at once and he takes a bow. This lets Thomas, the protagonist kid, grab hold of the larger glass pieces in his head and tear them off.

It takes three literal stages to do this as he swoops out to catch you each time you pull one out and heads into another “room” of the stage. (stage 1 is the one in the third picture, stage 2 is a row of seats and stage 3 is a balcony) If he hears you he lets out a furious screech and reaches arms out to get you as more terrible janky music plays.

When the last of the glass falls out, the mask shatters and he shifts back into a child with a red coat affectionately dubbed Red:

Red has the ability of distraction when played in tandem with Thomas. He is able to cause distractions independently by making singing in different areas to call other monsters away from switches or levers.

you know what i love about writing for sanders sides? you can make it as realistic as you want or as jacked up as you want. cause the series is both realistic fiction but also somehow fantasy, but it works???

you wanna make it so the sides can’t die? cool! maybe their injuries don’t last, or maybe they do. it’s up to you- they’re fucking imaginary. you wanna make them domestic? cool- maybe they live their lives as close to how a human lives as possible! or maybe they could disregard the laws of matter and physics and constantly fuck with everything. it’s up to you, and that creative freedom to write whatever the hell you want and make it as weird or realistic as you want without having to make an au??? amazing

maybe roman and remus share a room. or maybe they don’t. does the imagination exist? well now it does. or maybe it doesn’t. does logan have a entire fucking space ceiling for some reason? or is his room minimalistic and close to a human room? does patton use stretchy arms to hug everyone all at once? or does he try to keep it realistic? does virgil’s eyeshadow actually get darker depending on how anxious he gets? or is it stylistic choice? does janus have any more snake qualities? or is it just his face?

any of these could be completely canon without having to make an entirely new au, and i think that’s super sexy

Psa: Stop vandalizing Roman’s Character

I see this in a lot of sanders sides fan works but it really is a problem and it needs to be addressed.

I have been seeing a lot of fan stuff that portrays Roman as malicious but don’t tag it as unsympathetic. This frames it as though this is just how Roman acts in canon and this can be really bad for his portrayal as a whole.

Now if you write Roman as intentional evil that is completely fine and really interesting to play with but you MUST tag it as unsympathetic. I’m all about exploring different areas of these characters but acting as though this is an accurate reflection of how he is in canon is not right.

You may think that this has no consequences but it does.Some people in the sanders sides fandom have not watched the series in a long time. I myself have watched the full series once when I joined the fandom and not much since then. To people like this how the characters are depicted in fanon BECOMES canon to THEM.

So you not tagging it makes those people assume that is how he acts and they start writing him as such. Over time this leads to a perspective of a character that differs from canon almost completely.(this kinda happened with the smol UwU baby Virgil thing when he is very much not that)

This is a MAJOR problem on other sites like watpad and tiktok but I have noticed it spreading here as well.

THINGS ROMAN (from canon)WOULD NEVER DO:

- force himself on someone

- assault someone in any fashion

- destroy his crushes relationship

- punch kick or in any other way harm his love interest/ significant other

- and any other objectively horrible things!

If you write Roman doing any of the above things without proper reason you are writing an oc that has possessed his body NOT Roman sanders.

Although Roman can be rude sometimes he always has good intentions and that is important to keep in mind. Roman would never hurt his loved ones intentionally.

Proper reason includes:

- mind control

- manipulation

- a villainous plot

-and any other situation were his free will is prohibited

As a person who really connects with Roman and has faced many of the same struggles it really hurts that a character who is so similar to me is constantly being written to do horrible things.(things I know the Roman from canon would never do)I know this might seem silly but Roman is a really important character to me and if I go into the Roman tag and see nothing but unsympathetic Roman it can be really upsetting. I’m not saying don’t write unsympathetic Roman (that can be really interesting) I mean stop writing it as though it is the norm.

So Virgil’s eyeshadow turns purple when he’s happy/excited, which is adorable, but does something similar happen with the other dark sides?

Janus and Logan are talking about some old poet or something and he just gets super into the whole thing and Logan is super confused because Janus’ scales are suddenly a lot brighter yellow.

Roman and Remus are hanging out in the imagination and Roman laughs at one of Remus’ darker jokes, and he’s so happy that the white tuft in his hair turns bright green, and Roman gets a bit happy because he knows it means his brother is happy.
