Human!Simon x Merman!Johnny, but Simon is fuckin suicidal. HEAR ME OUT- HEAR ME OUT-

This would be like modern times-ish, in like a fishing town or something, but a costal town nonetheless. Simon is probably some sort of like local law enforcement, but he used to like his job. When Tommy and his family died, everything just stopped mattering to Simon. He started using sick days. Thanks to it being a small-ish town, there are people who are trying to keep Simon afloat, like Price, someone who helped him and Tommy away from their dad, but unfortunately couldn't help out their mother. Price checks up on Simon everyday, and started doing it more often when he stopped taking care of himself. One day, Simon decided to just end it. He walked over to one of the many cliff edges that led to the ocean, where he and Price spread Tommy and his family's ashes. Simon says his last goodbyes to the ocean but did not leaving a note or a text or anything. He just wanted to disappear. He was happy and relaxed when he fell into the ocean. And unfortunately for him, due to his limpness, he only broke a few bones, probably a few in his arms due to how he fell. And another unfortunately, Johnny, the merman, was splashing around the area and playing with Kyle, playing a game they made up of searching for weird things at the bottom of the cliff that get lost there. It was Johnny's turn and he saw Simon barely floating, struggling to try to stay afloat. Johnny saves his life and tries not to let Simon see him, but one Littler Mermaid scene later (minus the singing) and Simon is just enamored with the idea that some sea creature save him on the beach. He laid for hours just trying to process things when Price finds him and takes him to the hospital.

Simon is now obsessed with that beach. Price is happy he's out of the house and taking care of himself, but he was worried about this mermaid business and how quickly Simon got obsessed with that specific beach. Simon starts talking with a local fishermen, Alejandro, and he confirms that there are some sort of merfolk in the ocean, but that they're hella shy so, Simon takes a job with Alejandro. Price decides to tag along due to not wanting to leave Simon alone again.

Uh yeah I guess pairing the obv AleRudy with this, gonna try to see how I feel about GazxPricexNik in this, Nik is also a merman but way more ok with people seeing him.

Gonna make this a thing, just give me some time lmao.

AuDHD is so funny sometimes like what do you mean my hyperfixations/special interests will last for years on end or possibly forever but they will cycle out every month or two with absolutely no transitional period or warning. like i will think about the same topic every day obsessively for 46 days in a row and on the 47th day with no visible cause adhd brain goes "ok! bored of that now" and autism brain goes "dw i got something queued up for ya" and i blast into full blown obsession on some other topic whose mental file folders haven't opened in 9 months. brain's out here treating hyperfixations like a crop rotation. once the dopamine runs out it cycles in another one but once something's in the rotation it never ever leaves. last summer we brought in one from when i was 11. it's so funny to me but frustrating too bc like. i cannot stress enough my inability to predict or control this. or how completely abrupt and random it can be
