There's a book that we had in our house growing up that I was obsessed with as a kid. It was just called "PAKISTAN: PAINTINGS BY LIN YONG AND SU HUA" and it was an art book of 100+ paintings/sketches by two Chinese artists who travelled thru Pakistan in 1978 and 1981, a sort of travelogue of their trip, and to little-kid me, it was some of the most beautiful things I'd ever seen. I have no idea why we had that book, but I would stare at it for hours, and it made me wish I could draw/paint/do whatever it was that these artists had managed to do.

Anyway, we've moved house a bunch of times and I lost track of the book and haven't seen it for probably two decades now. But I think about it now and again, and had struggled to find it over the years, but I finally, finally got my hands on a copy of my own and i want to cry haha

I was afraid that maybe the art isn't as good as I remembered, being just a kid and all, but I cracked it open and nope, it hits me just the way it used to. Maybe even more now. It's so fucking pretty. Have some random pages:

is there a fic you constantly remember?

there are so many fics i constantly remember and i will begin by saying my bookmarks are highly curated and highly selective

looking through my bookmarks i picked out some fics that i feel i do actually just remember at random

okay first is this gem by @ekingston - i LOVE this fic. I LOVE IT. it gets me good. it's perfect. it is funny and sweet and sexy and also like, kind of weirdly emotional. and it's also cute. what the heck

i often do not like aus that are based on movies and tv or other properties bc people tend to just redo the thing with a skin over them but THIS OCEAN'S 12 AU IS PERFECT AND IMAGINATIVE AND IT MAKES ME ACTUALLY CRY. it's a ONE SHOT. how has @lovepotionnumber5 aCHIEVED THIS??? i CRY EVERY TIME! it's EMBARRASSING! i wish i had more of this, possibly a whole novel!!! and i just want to say too i like the free solo one too and it ALSO makes me cry! i love YEARNING

this fic by @hrwinter also makes me cry and also i love yearning and it also is hilarious. the first chapter is a masterwork i could not even begin to describe. another movie au that has a great basic concept that has been imaginatively reworked for sc. live your dreams folks bc i'm living mine

i also find myself thinking about this zelink fic a lot......like, a lot...........if you care about these things it's a perfect between the scenes retelling of botw.....which i love. and i miss between the scenes fics honestly. we need to get back to that.

there are several unfinished fics that i also do think about often but it's more speculative and i can't speak to how the fics will live in my memory afterward

i have several unfinished fics of my own that i often think about at random which is a problem obviously. and i also think about lynne's fics a lot too.

but yes, the bookmarks are really the place to be but this is what i came up with.
