Janet only scowled at him, crossing her arms over her chest. “Don’t give me that, Steve. We’ve been teammates for how long now? I can tell when something’s got you off, and I’m pretty sure everyone can.”

“I never said I was alone, Janet.” The Captain said, giving her his best ‘I’ll be fine’ smile he could muster at the moment, which wouldn’t be convincing to a dog. But he had to try, and he had to match that trying with a can-do attitude. Really, Steve was doing his best.

Ky’lar gave a half-shrug as he rubbed at his eyes for a few moments, “Your still alive for one… so that means you didn’t die.” He stated bluntly, “Well, I would like to say that…. yeah, I have nothing besides a very bad headache, and yourself?”

“In this case, no, not really.” Janet replied, giving a low groan and dropping her head into her hands. “Oh fuck me----and don’t you laugh at me.” she seemed to have conveniently forgotten about the last question.

Janet winced slightly as she looked down at herself. “As much as I am glad to be alive, right now it’s rather painful.” After all, she had several handprints that she suspected were made from something very cold on herself. And given the circumstances, there was only one way they could have gotten there...
