The sequence of events in road trip is INSANE. Dean realises how much he's fucked up from letting some angel possess Sam without his position so they track that angel down to STICK NEEDLES IN SAM'S BRAIN, LOBOTOMISING HIM, also without Sam's consent, later in which Dean asks Cas, another angel, to possess him, forgetting Cas even needs Sam's permission, then, to wrap up his lesson on not letting entities possess Sam without Sam's permission, he removes a tattoo from Sam's skin and has the king of hell who he KNOWS Sam actively hates and would kill, possess him instead. It's fucking insane.

If it's alright if I jump in here, it's important to mention that I'm pretty sure Dean just threw the spaghetti-Os that Sam rejected away. Into the garbage. Unless Dean had a tomato allergy no one knew about, pretty sure he wasn't starving that day. The fans are just out here manifesting a false narrative. (Also I'm absolutely bewildered that he didn't put them in the fridge for later as a whole. Who wastes food like that, especially if they're from a live-in-crappy-motels-type upbringing. That's gotta be some type of red flag, right?)
Also this doesn't really matter because they fought over it anyway, but John was actually proud of Sam (it's mentioned in 1x04 and 1x20 I think). It's just that no matter hard Sam worked for a better life and education, John and Dean both couldn't accept it, because it would mean that Sam would be outside their influence/ control and out of the hunt, something that they were way too attached to. It has nothing to do with getting an education or twisting "something that would make other fathers proud", really, and is purely on John (and Dean) and not on Sam's supposed bad boy personality.
the fact that most fans moan and whine over sam leaving them for a better life is so stupid. why wouldn't you leave an abusive home situation where you feel ostracized and alone just for existing?
according to the fandom, dean was sam's parent instead of john (left him alone for hours at a time), he starved himself so sam could eat (pocketed the money john left for dinner) he took the abuse from john while sam got special treatment (dean literally was on john's side most of the time- sam was shocked to see dean defend him when john comes back), and he took on extra work so sammy could afford college :) (he LITERALLY SAID HE GOT A FREE RIDE) but because sam got to have lucky charms for dinner once the canon contradictions of their Poor Wittle Dean narrative don't matter

so hey been a while but you ever sit and think about the character Dean coulda been in an alternate reality where the writers were vaguely aware of what an abuser looks like and how to not write one

Also thinking of "But [Arthur Ketch] was just never that fucking bright / he was just sorta charismatic and white, alright / and he was so fucking sure he had the right. / But he's ugly, and I'm glad he's dead / cuz there was no fucking candle in his pumpkin head" Because I think that would also apply to this situation.
Thinking about Penelope Scott's "Lotta True Crime" and the lyrics, "She could've killed you / she had every right / you just caught her off-guard tonight." Because man -- Magda Peterson being unfairly killed by Ketch vibes.

supernatural ending: erin edition
-dean still dies, pretty early on. the son of the kitsune amy immediately pulls up after the one case they do and rips his heart out, because he deserves it. he immediately dies, too, so he doesn’t get any last words.
-sam is distraught, naturally, praying to god to see if there’s another way, or something that can be done, before coming to the realization that he can be his own person without dean. he attends therapy and learns to open up and embrace his feelings, and also leaves dean’s constant abuse of him in the past. he puts dean’s body in the impala and burns them both.
-no, cas is not there. deal with it.
-sam leads a rich, fulfilling life. he opens up the bunker as a safe haven for monsters and humans alike. no longer burdened by dean’s expectations of his humanity, his powers come back in full force and he learns to master them to protect himself and others.
-when sam dies, he ends up in heaven, finally getting to see so many people he missed dearly. except dean, who went to hell. the end.

anyway here’s the tea
if either cas or dean was a woman, y’all would have manifestos written about how abusive it is. ESP if dean was a woman, cas would be the easy shitty man like not gl

That vamp is not the person who should have killed Dean. Listen, if Dean had to die like, 20 minutes in by the hand of an old enemy, there is only one character I can think of who should have done it -- Jacob Pond. During the episode, they’re not on a hunt at all. It’s all just fluff, lazy days of talking about Cas, Jack, and how they’re missed and doing laundry, cooking, etc. Lots of Sam petting the dog. We’ll know they’re being hunted by something thanks to the first 2 minutes of the episode and maybe a few other small clips here and there. When Dean gets hit, he doesn’t see it coming -- or maybe he does, but he doesn’t act fast enough. The set up doesn’t really matter, but perhaps it’s outside of the bar that Sam and he were hanging out at. Dean goes outside into an alley for a minute, maybe to take a phone call.  Jacob Pond has been waiting for him there (maybe he set up that call). He shoots him straight in the chest (He has to use a gun, as a statement that he’s more than just a kitsune. He doesn’t want to kill to eat in the same way his mother didn’t, so he keeps the claws - and any instinctual urges that accompany them -- at bay).  Sam, of course, hears the gunshot. He runs out in time to see Dean bleeding out on the ground. He kneels down to start putting pressure on the wound (he has to if Dean is going to have a chance) and looks around frantically for the threat. Said threat is easily spotted - Jacob. He’s wearing a hoodie so that any security cameras can’t catch his face, but looking up at him from the ground, Sam can recognize the teen easily.  Jacob Pond is clearly about to bolt, but he stops, staring Sam in the eyes. Jacob is all too young to be a killer, and he’s clearly still a little shaken up about what he’d done. Jacob, voice cracking as though in tears, can only choke out one statement: “I had to.”
Jacob runs and Sam lets him go, partially because Sam can’t afford to take pressure off of the wound but partially because Sam knows the truth in Jacob’s words.  Sam knows what it was like to be that kid, broken, angry, and desperate to kill the thing that murdered his mother.  Maybe Dean has time to give a final death speech - starts by saying that he “Probably had that coming.” Maybe he even admits he was wrong in killing Amy, words that Sam had just been waiting to hear but not like this. Maybe Dean gets to have the same, weirdly long speech he had in the finale. Or maybe Dean is silent, and his last words consist of the casual joke that he threw over his shoulder to Sam before he walked out.  None of the details of the proposed scenario really matter, but the point is, if Dean had to die, Jacob Pond should’ve been responsible. Keep in mind, the finale still likely would have sucked, but hey, at least the Big Bad would have been a bit better.
