WE did this. we said I AM NOT LEAVING YOU and melted into each other for better or for worse (it’s for better) and we are A FUNCTIONAL UNIT now. DO NOT SEPARATE. BATTERIES FUCKING INCLUDED. Thinking about Miss Paige and Hancock making camp after barely escaping a collapsing building together

Helping each other get all the caked on concrete dust off of their clothes and effects, Paige still in awe and shock that they even got out alive while John plays it off as Just Another Day In The Commonwealth but honestly was genuinely terrified of an image in his head where they didn't make it out and he was left to slowly starve while trapped beneath the rubble with her corpse.

Awkward chuckles at gallows humor, sharing a drink as recently washed clothes are hung up and guns are verified to be in working condition, boiling water used for washing used to warm up the whiskey and kick back steaming shots.

A quiet moment of Looking at each other, both thinking about how much they couldn't bear to lose the other back there, before Miss Paige crumbles to the awkward and offers to take first watch through the night and sidesteps any serious conversation.

They're in love but they're dumbasses, your Honor.
