i think root cause of a lot of dumb flint takes is trying to apply normal people logic to his emotional processing when instead what we see over 4 seasons is flint's brain operating according to its own laws of physics which exhibits a certain pattern across the story. so you have to consider his psychology within the context of this pattern instead of like, how a normal person would feel and think and process things bc girl. he is NOT normal. we have seen and known and perceived 4 seasons of that
