How it started VS How it's going

On Etheirys, Emet-Selch had two daughters and a son. His oldest daughter Melinoë was his biggest headache. He loved her, but he didn't love how she would purposely oppose him at any and every chance she got. Like her mother, Kotarii (Persephone), she purposely changed the color of her robe so it would "stand out".

His other children, Zagreus and Makaria were his pride and joy. Despite Melinoë's influence of pranks and defiance, they were calm children. Both of them had even joined the Convocation of Fourteen as two halves of the seat of Azem.

During the Final Days, he would have kept their memories stored away, hoping one day to return them.

Long after the Sundering, Emet-Selch would become Solus Galvus, Emperor of Garlemald. The sundered souls of his children would later become his great-grandchildren. Melinoë became Andromeda, a former assassin for the Garlean Empire; Zagreus and Makaria became sundered twins Isaac and Lucinda (Cinna) who were adventurers at heart with a uniquely big family.

Emet-Selch would eventually return their memories before they had to defeat him, wanting to see his children and give them the goodbye he hadn't been able to on Etheirys.

Calliope: Suffering

Characters: Calliope Galvus, Emet-Selch, unnamed but still there (Lucius & Titus Galvus), Artemisa, Gaius Warning: Angst, mention of death, survivor's guilt, loss

"The traitors have been dealt with. Survivors are unknown."

Calliope had stood in the throne room alongside her uncles and Emperor Solus, her grandfather when a soldier came to report. Her heart dropped and watched Solus' reaction. His jaw tightened, his gaze piercing through the soldier like his sword. She didn't even flinch. She would have done the same. Despite his cold exterior, she knew that it pained him. His wife, her sisters, her niece and several nephews, all dead at the hands of his soldiers - and not at his command.

"Deal with this." he demanded curtly before turning on his heels and storming out of throne room. She followed him out, but made a detour, heading to the roof. She sat on the edge and looked up at the stars, searching for answers in the cosmos.

Why did this happen? Because they defected? They could have been left alone. Solus didn't even want them hunted down or dead. He was hurt and upset but he never wanted this.

And she could have been among them. Calliope was invited to go with her older sister Artemisa. She said that she was meeting with their sisters for a picnic. Calliope had declined as she had promised to meet up with Gaius. She should have went. Maybe she could have helped them. Maybe she could saved them. But she didn't. And they were all dead.

"Aunt Calliope!" she heard a small voice and she was heartbroken.

"I'll be right there!" her voice was shaky as she stood up. She would have to break the news to Artemisa's three daughters.

Vesper: Promise

A/N: Gonna try doing this cause I always miss the ffxiv monthly challenges/don't know where to find them

Characters: Vesper Kaie, Roxanne Kaie Warning: Slight Angst

"I want you to promise me that you'll come back safely."

He couldn't do it. No matter how many times his younger sister would beg and cry for him to. It may have been cruel, but he didn't want to give her false hope. There was never a guarantee for a good outcome. There was always a chance that something could go wrong, that he could be slain while out, trying to bring back food so the two could survive just a little longer. There was only a few more weeks until the next boat departed for Sharlayan. And if he could successfully sneak on with his sister, just maybe there was a chance for a better life.

"I can't, Rox. You know I don't make promises I can't keep. If I don't come home before sundown, go and visit lady Vera."

After Endwalker, I have 5 years that happen before the Endwalker Patches called the Void Years. This is after the Scions disband. It's where I just wanted some time to pass before reuniting in the patches (cause it doesn't make sense to me for the Scions to disband then suddenly start banding together so soon after). A lot of my characters (including Cinna) are either getting married & growing their families or adventuring during this time.

1584 / Seventh Astral Era Year 7 (Void Year 1) to 1588 / Seventh Astral Era Year 9 (Void Year 5)

Then it resumes with the Endwalker Patches & Dawntrail

1589 / Seventh Astral Era Year 10 - Endwalker Patches 6.1-6.5; Dawntrail 7.0 - (assumingly) 7.5

How much time do you headcanon has passed for your WoL from ARR to now?

In my personal timeline (headcanons), the twins are probably mid-twenties by now and this is how I kinda imagine them. Instead of their canon look for Endwalker/Shadowbringers, this is how they'd look/dress.

What sort of game is he playing at? I know its him. Why not just say so? Why hide away his face from me? His arms-they are crystalizing...why? Perhaps I will play his game for a while longer

Upon approaching the doors, Cinna's chest tightens. All memories and feelings of him claw their way to the surface. She is nervous of how he'll react to their son. Would he accept him? Would he spend time with him? Or will he keep his facade as the Crystal Exarch going forever?

The Exarch has been locked in a staring contest with my son ever since I told him that Rowen was his - G'raha Tia's son. Perhaps it would be best that I leave him to his thoughts.

The one in the scholastic outfit is their nephew Rowen Rosewood-Tia, the son of Cinna & G'raha Tia. He's the son that was conceived before G'raha Tia went into the Crystal Tower. He was born at the end of ARR, just before the events of Heavensward. Unlike his Keep of the moon family (on his mum's side), he's a seeker of the sun like his father.
