Hussam said it was an incredibly difficult night for everyone. He's taken some photographs and videos of the surrounding houses, which were completely demolished. Where are people supposed to go when even their homes are not safe? This airstrike killed more than 100 people.
Alhamdullilah, Allah protected the camp this night, but some of the tents ended up receiving shrapnel damage. This means that the bombing was incredibly close to where they were!
Please keep everyone in your prayers and thoughts. Thank you for all your support.
Consider donating to this campaign to help Gazan children and families stay warm and fed. Visit https://helpgazachildren.notion.site for more information. All donations go directly to helping people in need with NO middle man in between.
if you are unable to donate financially to help palestine, you can donate your time by protesting, boycotting, and putting up posters!
if all you have is your device and internet access, you can put your clicks to good use on arab.org. they use the advertising revenue generated by your clicks to help good causes.
and i would urge those able to spare a few dollars to donate to one or more of the following organizations:
"A Child’s View from Gaza" was an art exhibition showcasing drawings created by the children of Gaza.
"The captioned illustrations were created by Palestinian children who lived through the Israeli bombardment of Gaza in 2008-09. The pictures were drawn as part of an effort to help children deal with the horrors they had experienced. A Bay Area nonprofit, Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA), arranged to display a collection of these pictures at the Museum of Children’s Art in Oakland, California. However, under pressure from the Jewish Federation of the East Bay and other organizations, the museum backed out of the agreement at the last minute."
Blinken saying Hamas isn't going to be defeated militarily + Biden saying the airstrikes aren't actually stopping the Houthis really paints this administration as a bunch of sociopaths who know what they're doing isn't accomplishing anything but are nonetheless enthusiastically doling out mindless violence and mass death just for the love of the game.
Hi! Hello! I saw your most recent posting about Miguel. I love when you talk about him lol
So.. free pass to talk more about him? I read up to 3# issue of the vol.1 1992 but I stopped because I saw some people saying it got really bad after the third issue. What's you recommendation?
Thanks 💖

thank u anon he’s my buddy sm2099 is. important 2 me 💞
i’ll be honest not reading after the first three issues is complete and utter bogus i’ve never heard of that before. if someone is telling you not to read volume 1 in a sm2099-based discussion then they do NOT have ur best interests at heart and you should not listen to their opinions fgngddggddth you cannot be an expert in something if u actively refuse to read it and tell others to Not Read It Either so they can’t call you out for making shit up out of pocket all th time, yknow what i’m saying LMAO
yeah v1 drops off in quality after a point, but it certainly isn’t immediately after the origin issues conclude. the first arc (issues #1-10) is imo one of if not The strongest-written in the whole run. now, personally, i don’t think the quality drop is bad enough to warrant Stopping a readthrough until around maybe issue #35ish (out of a 46-issue run), but like. even then, i’m generally an advocate for reading through the whole run at least once just for completionism’s sake. that is VERY much just a Me Thing, though, there is no real right or wrong way to read comics and ultimately what matters most is that u the reader are enjoying it, y/k y/k? you might really really like it or it might not be up your alley at all but you’ll never know if you deny yourself the opportunity to experience it and come to your own judgements, nd all that. me, i’m biased. it’s my favorite thing in the world. the writing is a massive influence on me and my humor today and rick leonardi’s art progression during the time he was on the comic is a particular treat to my comic book nerd-ass. and with al williamson on inks!! god, the lines in the leonardi/williamson era of sm2099 😩
miguel’s insanely isolated in his day-to-day life the only people outside of his family—counting lyla as family lmao—that he Regularly Interacts With are his fiancée (who is dismissive of him at very very best. but. this is Not About Her) and. well. tyler. the guy who drugged him. because tyler is his boss. and he owns the company that owns miguel’s apartment. and the rest of the apartment building. and the city. and most of the eastern seaboard of the former united states of america in the year 2099.
like. ok. in the Text Of SM2099 during the catalyst scene to miguel eventually getting his powers—his racist uberwealthy boss tyler stone spiking his drink w/ Rapture, a highly-addictive fantasy drug that causes intense hallucinations + a seeming lack of coordination/motor control that “bonds to the host’s DNA in 24 hours,” (and is only legally supplied, of course, by alchemax)—tyler Brags To Miguel’s Face about having groomed him just seconds before roofieing him because miguel dared to Try and quit his job at alchemax instead of doing Evil Fucked-Up Comic Book Science on human test subjects, and tyler is a rich creep who thinks that he Owns his offspring nd can do whatever he wants with him. the main villains of spider-man 2099 are Parental Abuse and Capitalism and tyler stone is a textbook patriarch figure who perfectly embodies both of those ideals y/k
marvel 2099 is cyberPUNK, written during the CYBERPUNK BOOM OF THE 90S, evil rich villains who r for all intents and purposes just average white-collar Douchebags with more power and money than any one human being should ever have is like. genre convention

referring to the brown man as an animal you Like is, still, in fact, directly calling the man an animal. please take a moment to think about your words and what they mean first before you say them to other people in the future.
hits the disinformation machine with a bat a big bat a big heavy lead-core thick wood bat kablam whack whack whack whack whack. miguel ohara does not have "spider instincts," he has never in even one piece of official material ever had nor experienced the phenomenon that fandom colloquially refers to as "spider instincts," okay, that concept is entirely and 100% a fandom-born headcanon that people created post-ATSV as an excuse to write the guy as a stupid Feral Brown Beast-Man caricature . lord have mercy. it takes. two seconds of research 2 not perpetuate racist malarkey. do better
