Random question for artists: how do you stylize human ears when you’re drawing them really quickly/not putting a ton of effort into them. I default to putting a little h in there

I don't give 2 shits about Taylor Swift but honestly the shittiness of her lyricism is such a massive point in her favor and I mean that. Everything else about her is so corporate, the awful janky songwriting is by far her most human quality as an artist. "Sometimes I feel like everybody is a sexy baby, And I'm a monster on the hill" is SO baffling. No board room wrote that. That's blisteringly authentic.

aside from extremely obvious things like works of explicitly political fiction like The Jungle or Timothy McVeigh's favorite book, so much art is intended to convey messages about specific subjects, feed stigma or build empathy. The idea that the only things which are 100% true to life or actual events can influence people's opinions on the world they live in is so patently absurd. The idea that you've never felt moved or had your perspective by a story or piece of art that wasn't 100% a reflection of reality is something I doubt is true for the people who spit this line.

Im not even saying this as like a sly undercut to say that if you like something gross it means you like that gross thing irl, just that this particular aphorism is extremely ill conceived and baisically entirely weilded by people who use it as a lazy, mindless trump card to acuse other people of intellectual dishonesty when it is itself strikingly guilty of such. And if you're one of those people, I'd like to genuinely and sincerely encourage you to try and confront ideas which may make you feel personally uncomfortable about yourself and the world you live in, and to also work on those critical thinking skills, ok?
