Legends of Steak: President William Howard Taft
in Extra Crispy we find one of the original gangster of daily steak eating “The 27th president was a big man who favored a commensurately sized bathtub, and he was possessed of the authority to will such a thing into existence. Taft also ate steak for breakfast every day,”
Story goes that Taft tucked into a 12 ounce steak for breakfast every morning, until his doctor advised to downsize. That meant sticking with just 6 or 8 ounce steaks and lots of complaining of hardships. And to be fair, that was just his breakfast steaks.
A total gluttonous legend.

Moishes Steakhouse: Montreal
The New York Times has a good little piece on Leonard Cohen’s Montreal and his multiple night a week habit at Moishes, a steak institution since 1938. Although it turns out Cohen was more of a lamb chop kind of a guy. I guess that’s okay.
The name Moishes is burned into my memory not because i’ve been there yet, but it’s referenced in a line from the 2003 movie, The Snow Walker that I had a lot of fun on while working. Between running copies of that script while PAing and driving 3 kinds of buses, to shooting shotguns and crashing a snowmobile while we filmed in Churchill Manitoba, i’ll never forget it. Need to go next time we’re in Montreal now that my mouth is watering.

Artificial Intelligence & Cooking A Steak
On the one hand, the touch display, ui, and app look pretty cool. On the other hand, get your hands off my steak, bot. Things you need to know how to do in life, cook steak by feel.
The one thing that was pretty rad is the replays of your cooking. You need that hype reel of all the steak you’ve cooked, son.
