We have not met. Due to the nature of my tumblr, i don't communicate with minors. I hope you understand.Best,Keys
LOL! I wrote this like 3 or 4 years ago:
I do and I don’t. I guess what I don’t understand is why you decided to follow me in the first place if you thought I was a minor. And also, what led you to believe that’s what I am… I’m not offended, don’t think I’m taking offense. No one can help their age I guess. But there are ways around it. Like how was I able to attend Hard Haunted Mansion this year? Or how am I graduated from high school? How am I dating someone that’s 26 years old? How can I attend acting classes that are strictly 18+ (adults only)? How can I get into the echoplex for Check Yo Ponytail? If you can’t solve these questions, you might just have to go ahead and conclude that I’m above 18.
And because you’re telling me that you don’t talk to minors, I don’t really expect a reply from you, so don’t feel oligated. Unless you know, you really have something you have to say, like I did. I’m sorry, I’m just a stubborn Leo.

Hello world! My first post on this blog! (The previous ones are re-blogged from my personal page - those don’t count. :p) And what a great way to start it off than by posting about a tasty steal!
Spina has probably one of the best happy hour menus any Italian restaurant offers - and that’s not just because Italian restaurants seldom offer discounts. Searching for a cheap place for my BFF Blayke and I to wine and dine on a Tuesday night, I stumbled upon Spina. I usually don’t just walk in to restaurants unless I’ve heard good things about them from reliable sources (aka TONY or LA Weekly) so I was definitely skeptical, however, happily surprised. Let’s just say, I came for the inexpensive beer and stayed for the homemade pasta. Also, not to mention, it’s warm, enchanting atmosphere (and I hardly pay any mind to the environment when I’m chowing down on delicious food).
Now to the exciting stuff… PICTURES!!! :)
First came the beer….yay! I <3 Beer…good beer that is. You will never catch me drinking BudLight or any of that crap. Ever. I ordered Corsendonk - a delicious abbey brown ale. I highly recommend it to people who like it dark ;)
Then came bread accompanied by the best free dip I’ve ever had! A sort of sun-dried tomato sauce along with truffled cream cheese that was to DIE for.
Next came the $5 meatballs and $5 mussels. Can’t say I got a real bargain when out came 4 1-inch meatballs, however there must have been 15-20 mussels in that pot! That’s where the real money savings are. Not my photo but here’s what they look like:
I also got their gnocchi which was made in a kind of puttanesca style. It was alright. Definitely nothing special.
But the main kick about this place was the entrancing atmosphere. I felt as if I’d snuck off to an osteria on a side street in Rome with the authentic pasta bar, wine-stacked wall and dimly-lit-cozy-vibe the whole restaurant gave off. I’d definitely go back and highly recommend the place to newcomers.

Hey Los Angeles, followers! When's the last time you went to a Drive-In Movie Theater? For most of you, the answer is probably never. Devil's Night Drive-In brings back the good times screening classics and cults on a parking garage rooftop in downtown LA. If you're down with being nostalgic and sentimental you better start making plans to attend a screening on their killer line-up because there are only seven more shows ever!
Here's the line-up for the remaining of Devil's Night Drive-In:
Dazed and Confused - June 9th 2012, gates @ 7, show @ 8:30
Donnie Darko - (Sunday) June 24th 2012, gates @ 7:30, show @ 9
The Big Lebowski - July 7th 2012, gates @ 7:30, show @ 9
The Princess Bride - July 21st 2012, gates @ 7, show @ 8:30
Pulp Fiction - August 4th 2012, gates @ 7, show @ 8:30
16 Candles - August 25th 2012, gates @ 6:30, show @ 8
Pee Wee's Big Adventure - August 8th 2012, gates @ 6, show @ 7:30

Hey, Foodies! I've got another event coming up for ya next weekend in Brooklyn!
Grub Crawl is a dream-come-true tasting event that will blow your taste buds away! Each night offers an exploration of a different neighborhood giving not only your tastebuds a broader horizon but your general understanding of the diverse borough of Brooklyn will grow as well.
Friday June 1st: Carroll Gardens. Highlight of the night: high hopes for Seersucker. 4 stops total. $160
Saturday June 2nd: Williamsburg. Highlight of the night: Meatball Shop (if only for the fact that I wouldn't be having to wait 2 1/2 hours for a table). Maison Premiere struck out because of the fact that I got food poisoning from oysters a few weeks ago and have since cut NY seafood out of my diet forever. 5 eateries, and a concert makes 6 stops. $215
Sunday June 3rd: Red Hook. Highlight of the night: Mile End or Stumptown Coffee. 5 stops. $185
The ABSOLUTELY FREE event I posted yesterday takes place on the best day of all three. If I had moolah in the bank I would make it out to both the BBQ and the Red Hook Crawl but unfortunately I'm as broke as the old clock collecting dust in your attic.
Should be fun, though! I'd love if any attendees send reviews and pics once it's over so I can decide whether or not for next year. Cheers!

Given my sudden uproot to the big apple, decision to trust time warner with installing internet in my apartment and overall recent occupation with the real world, I've been quite absent from this blog. I've missed it through and through and cannot WAIT to talk about all the culture I've encountered during my leave of absence. There is just SO much music I want to share with you all! However, as I previously noted in another post, Tumblr only allows one mp3 upload per day and since I'm no computer hacking whiz, we're going to have to settle on one. I haven't forgotten about the other 7 Metronomy songs from The English Riviera I promised but that is just going to have to wait. I'm just too excited about my recent discoveries to even begin blabbering about the greatest band ever to walk this Earth (which I continually do day-to-day amongst coworkers and others I meet in life). Honestly I haven't even decided which one I'm going to upload today (it's that tough).
I have a personal DJ that plays for me (who shall remain unnamed until further notice, but for now let's just call him DJ Boyfriend).  After perusing the music blogs (aka The Hype Machine) trying to learn a bit more about an electronic music act called Light Year I ended up with more music than I bargained for. For me, shopping around for new music on the internet is the same as visiting the grocery store: more often than not I end up with 3x as many items I originally planned on getting. So I found out a number of things about Light Year as well as indie remix producers RAC, who just came out with their first original track. It's called "Hollywood" and it features Penguin Prison on vocals. Take a listen here. Be sure to check out PP at the Governors Ball next month on Randall's Island in NYC. The bill also features Passion Pit, Beck, Modest Mouse, Chromeo and many more. Best part about this festival: no overlapping sets! Unfortunately, a performance intensive that I signed up for DOES overlap and I won't be able to attend. So sad.
Back to Light Year! My sudden interest in these guys were sparked by their appearance on the upcoming HARD Summer Lineup. Previously, I'd only downloaded one track by them (recommended by DJ Boyfriend), a track you've heard if you saw Mr. Oizo, Soulwax, Erol Alkan or Tiga during their earlier 2011 tours. That track is called Sex Education, and you can take a listen here. Two weeks ago the duo dropped Moderation on us. Check it out here. What a track. It combines a heavy bass with echoing vocals and draws inspiration from the sub-genre "minimal". It seems that a lot of (what I like to call) "high-end" DJ's are getting into this type of music. Smart move, Light Year. Work it.
If the remix that I'm posting doesn't impress you then I don't know what will!
