Con: barely any byler content

Pro: this confirms anything with Will and Mike interacting is too damning to show this early

Pro: Dustin and Lucas have a ton of focus because of it

Con: The focus on Dustin and Lucas shows them very explicitly going through the horrors

The only pro with no downsides whatsoever is how El is shown with a lot of people, hopefully she won't be alone in another state for most of the season anymore (looking at you, S2 and S4). She's with Nancy, she's with Will and Robin, she's with Mike and Lucas, she's with Hopper, my girl will be I-N-T-E-R-A-C-T-I-N-G!!!!!

I respecfully disagree.

Her hair is just tied back and short, and in the low lighting you can't really see the part in the middle of her head.

That being said, if they shave her head this season AGAIN I will be throwing hands, let her hair GROW

I’m sure someones already said this but I often see Tumblr described as a hellsite. This is fundamentally incorrect.

Tumblr is the faesite. Everybody is super confused and lost, you keep running into random places. Somehow you end up stuck there forever after interacting a couple of times. The people are all strange, everybody simultaneously seems to be from the future and the past as if time is meaningless.

OKAY. Will can still see in the tunnels probably. El can fly now. We are dealing with improved powers this season.

We know from S1 that El can find people and transmit whatever they are talking about through radios, and that the stronger the radio, the better she can do that.

And we see in the teaser, in seemingly unrelated moments, a radio tower being taken over by the mindflayer dirt, Steve setting up a frequency inside of a van parked outside of a radio station, and a car with a huge antenna on top speeding through backyards. We also see El at the radio station while Lucas and Mike bike away.

SO. Are we setting this up to find someone in the Upside Down, or to set up some sort of contingency measure against Vecna coming here?

Because we've seen the radio tower being swirled in by the dirt. It does that when it is in pain, next to fire. What if the radio is somehow causing it pain and the dirt is reacting to try and suppress the signal?

Also, we see El going into sensory deprivation not once, but possibly twice - one where she's wearing the wetsuit, and one where Hopper in encouraging her through a helmet (similar to the suit she wore in S1 when opening the portal and maybe S4 during NINA, I don't recall) at the militay base. We also see Hopper and El being shot at through a fallen billboard that says "TURNBOW". And we know S5E3 is called The Turnbow Trap.

So, I'm thinking someone disappears in episode 2 (Holly or Will or someone else entirely) and in episode 3 they lure El into the military base under the guise of helping find whoever was taken using her powers. But something goes wrong, and El and Hopper have to escape the military base. We see her screaming with alarms blaring - I think Vecna does something to her while she's running away from the base, and then Hopper has to carry her away because she's too affected by whatever happened or too exhausted to fight back anymore.

I think we're gonna see shit going down the entire season. I think the stakes will be high from episode 1.

BUT WHAT IF

They can't show us anything from episode 7 because it is a Max-centric episode where she wakes up changed in some way? Because all we've seen of her is her still unconscious and Lucas maybe taking her out of the hospital. What if MAX is the titular Bridge?

Do I know how that would work? No.
