What Is Stress
The simplest definition of stress is when your brain panics over something new or difficult. It can happen if we don't feel like we’re in control or if we feel threatened.
Tumblr media
Brain:
When we do feel stressed, our prefrontal cortex (the one in charge of decision-making) shrinks. While that shrinks, the amygdala (in charge of “fight or flight”) will actually start to grow. The hippocampus is also affected, as it is disrupted by stress. It means we will be quick to respond to situations, but not necessarily think it through.
Tumblr media
Energy:
When You get stressed, your energy is greatly affected. There are three stages of this happening.
First, you’ll mobilize your energy. Your body will generate adrenaline, which causes your heart and breathing to speed up
Secondly, you’ll start consuming your energy after a bit of time in the mobilizing stage. Your body will start releasing fats and sugar that's been stored in your body. When that happens, you’ll feel focused, then pressured and finally, tired.
Lastly, Your energy sources will start to drain. You don’t have any more energy to feel stressed. When this happens, you’ll start to get insomnia, your judgement will become weaker and your personality will be different.
Tumblr media
Conclusion:
The effects of stress are all fine for short-term stress but do not help with long-term stress. It damages our physical and mental health to be stressed for long periods of time. However, stress looks different for everyone, whether it’s the symptoms or the way we cope.

Coping
Today, I’ll be listing three methods to dealing/eliminating stress. Using these methods, you’ll be on the path to stress-free living.
The first method starts with the basics, and that is to take care of yourself. There are a couple of ways to do this. One is to eat healthily and at a normal rate, like focusing on eating more greens and organic products, while also making sure you don’t under or overeat. Heating health can improve your mood and body.
Tumblr media
Another way to take care of yourself is to focus on getting a good amount of sleep. The CDC (Center for Disease Control) recommends that teenagers sleep for 8-10 hours, while adults should sleep for at least 7 hours. Sleeping enough can reduce your stress and reduce your chance of getting sick.
Tumblr media
The final one is to try and start a basic routine. Making sure you plan out stuff like when you’ll wake up and when you’ll do some homework. Having a schedule will help you feel more in control and less stressed about thinking about how you will do everything the next day. Using these three things, you’ll come to have a more healthy and stressless time.
Tumblr media
The second method is talking to someone about it. People might not understand or even know that you’re feeling stressed unless you try talking to them. You can talk to anyone, whether that be family, friends or a therapist. When talking to friends or family, it can feel like a weight being lifted off your shoulders. They can know what you’re going through and help you get better. When talking with a therapist, they can help give suggestions on how to better cope with stress.
Tumblr media
The last method is to calm yourself by doing something you like to do. This can be a hobby, sport or anything that you enjoy doing. Doing a productive hobby may include stuff such as reading, writing, playing an instrument and others that make you happier. Sports could be basically any sport that you enjoy. As for other stuff, it could be simple stuff like playing a video game or watching a movie. Doing stuff that you enjoy can raise your mood and distract you from your problems. It can also give you time to think about your problems and reflect on how you can solve them.
Tumblr media
Hopefully, you find any of these coping methods useful and helpful.
