i have no idea who needs to hear this, but asian racism is very real and if you’re white, you have no right to say that they have just as much privilege as white people or that they don’t experience it.

racism isn’t a fucking contest, and it’s genuinely disheartening to see asian racism being put to the side like it’s “lesser”. or that people can make racist comments and get away with it because who cares? or that people can literally call someone a chink and not get in trouble because yknow, nobody gives a shit about us!

STOP categorizing all asians as chinese/japanese/korean. STOP ignoring asians with a darker skin tone. STOP making dog jokes, STOP pulling your eyes back to mock us, STOP saying a fucking slur with the intention of it being a slur if you’re white, STOP saying “ching chong”. it’s tiring.

asian children’s success in school being dismissed because of the stereotypical asian mom™ is hurtful. making fun of someone’s accent and exaggerating it to the point where the words are hardly recognizable is hurtful (especially if they learned a whole new language for you). fetishizing us, especially children is not only vomit inducing but degrading.

if you look at an asian person who’s wearing a mask weirdly when they get on your public transit, you suck. if you straight up tell someone to get off the subway because they’re asian, you suck. if you shove someone off the sidewalk, spit on them, make a joke about them having covid because they appear chinese, kick them out of your store, you are a bad person and a fucking racist.

if you’re white, you don’t get to fucking decide what’s racist and what isn’t for us. you don’t have the right to tell us to stop complaining and shut up because the racism WE face isn’t as “important”. you’re not allowed to dismiss us, treat us like your punching bags, ignore our voice, tell us we have white privilege when we clearly don’t, and say that asian racism isn’t real.

asian racism is very real.
