immediately upon command,  faithful abdiel halted and cast his eyes about his surroundings;  nothing.  not even he, with his countenance rendered stern from battle ( no less with his own siblings,  loved so dear ! ),  one so steadfast,  was perfect.  he could not perceive all;  there were things even he was blind to.  “ what can you see? ”  his voice was hushed and urgent.  “ how close? ”

ARMS  FALLS  BACK  TO  HER  SIDE.  slowly  she  bends  down  and  knees  barely  hover  above  the  soil  as  fingertips  delicately  place  themselves  upon  the  gravel.  she  hopes  to  feel  the  movement  of  what  watches  them  but  as  her  focus      (      a  multipurpose  neural  interface      )      alerts  her  of  enemies  close  by  she  quickly  stands  ,  turning  to  see  a  MACHINE  headed  for  them  both.

IT  STARTS  AS  A  WHISPER  ;  darkened  clouds  drifting  with  the  wind  till  the  first  pearls  of  rain  begin  to  fall.  as  tiny  droplets  trickle  along  her  skin  an  outstretched  palm  reaches  out  to  catch  a  bit  of  the  CHILLED  moisture  within  them.  she  shakes  her  head  and  a  sigh  passes  chapped  lips.
